  • Comedian Artie Lange sits down and discusses his life and career in show biz. The ups the downs and everything in between. Artie's ability to make people laugh is called, by many of his peers, genius. A lot of this conversation is about his journey to find himself in the place he is in today. He's always so open and forthright about his struggles, but the struggles come with a price tag. And now, with a newfound perspective we can share in the bright light that has begun to outshine the darkness. I don't think anyone can tell a story quite like Artie ... especially his story

This is one of the best Artie interviews I've seen. No comedy or making jokes, just a straight up genuine conversation. Been a huge fan since his time at Stern, and it got to a point where I would Google his name just to make sure he wasn't dead yet. When he says his fans are loyal, I'm proud to include myself in that camp. It's amazing he's at this point now, I hope it continues. FIYAAAAA!!!

I agree. I also prefer just straight conversation without the need to feel they have to be 'funny' or 'on' or entertaining.

Every time I see Artie in his current state I get happy. I want him to become what he was when he first came to Stern. Might be selfish but he’s one of my favorite people in show business.

It's so great to see Artie looking lucid and aware and talking without constantly falling back on just the same old stories, like some hack comedian cruising on auto-pilot. Artie isn't a hack, though. He was just a junkie and it's finally clear that he's really racking up serious sober time because he seems so much better now. You can't fake the progress he's clearly made. Every other time he claimed he was x days sober, or x months clean, it was clear he was lying because his energy level, enthusiasm, mannerisms, they were the same as the old junkie Artie. But now he's like a new person finally. He's not interrupting the guy that's interviewing him, he's not constantly laughing at his own (very old stories and very old jokes), or talking in non-sequiturs, or giving us that awful wheezy hysterical laugh that would always inevitably turn into just an unhealthy guy coughing, et cetera. That Artie was a wreck. This new Artie, and it is new. I've never seen him this healthy and positive. He doing great for the first time in years.
