Well done, Very informative and helpful!! I have a 93 no controller model, I’m 72 but afraid to attempt just cleaning up contacts (poor flexibility), You are a very helpful sincere and thoughtful person!! I will view part 2, You’re my kind of teacher!, Sincerely, Thank you Sir !!

Thank you Art. If its difficult for you to do the sanding, you should also be able to use electrical contact cleaner. Something like a WD-40 contact cleaner or DeOxIt where you just spray it on, let it sit a while & then wipe it off. FYI if you decided to convert it to a controller you could swap out the pie-box throttle controller with a POTentiometer which is compatible with the controller. The pot-based linkages are cheaper than new pie-boxes - mostly because of all that copper I reckon. I still run the pie-box, but its a little jerky as it steps through the discrete levels. One day I will put a pot in. Maybe. Heh.

@@grokshop BTW, after many many years in boats and RVs, I've found the CRC QD contact cleaner to be the best chemical cleaner. They have started carrying it in some of the discount auto stores and Lowes has it. A wire brush in a battery drill also helps....

So far, this is the best of the golf cart upgrade videos I've watched. Good job!!! Question. I have almost the same golf cart. Just slightly older 1985, with the "fingers in a box" throttle and resister coils. I have a curtis controller (36/48V) and potbox throttle I am in the process of installing. My motor is similar, but is the 2.5hp 3300 rpm 36v model. Can I run this at 48V also? Any reduction in reliability to run at 48V? This is a very old motor and I'm a little leary of the increased voltage.... Mine is GE Category 5BC48JB. I'm wondering if the 48 in the category number refers to 48V?

I have a G22E Yamaha, but I want to change how the engine turns, because it only moves backwards, but I would like to be sure if it's the controller, what cables I have to change in the engine F1/F2/A1/A2 thank you!!
