I have 3-4mm negative ulnar variance. Moderate to severe pain, catching, burning, popping, stiffness, weakness, swelling. Are these signs of Kienbock’s disease? I’m tired of going back & forth to my ortho dr. We tried PT, bracing & steroid injection. Nothing has worked.

He asked they will place a disk of stainless steel in my wrist .is it the only solution and is it durable bcz he said 20 to 30 years can pass with that disk ,my age is 29

Hello thank you so much for this video! i have kienbochs disease in my left wrist, the pain is mild but consistent, and and advanced. i can live with the pain for now, but i am a surfer and this requires me to do push ups on the board to pop up. i need to surf for the rest of my life i refuse to be disabled. i am worried that if i get surgery i will not recover and still have pain. i need advice.. they offered me treatment including immobilization versus osteotomy, such as a radial shortening or capitate osteotomy with possible vascular bone grafting…. should i do the surgery or wait it out and see if pain gets worse .

It is unlikely to Kienbock's. It takes a long while for this disease to develop. Dont worry. If the pain persists for more than 15 days, meet a doctor and get an Xray.

You need an MRI scan of the wrist. That should clinch the diagnosis.
