Very nice. It's good to see a classic tractor come to life again. By the way, shouldn't you have a second light on your dashboard, oil and battery charger, and both should go off when the engine fires up?
Please check that you have filled that new injector pump,s own sump with the same type of new clean oil you would put in the engine sump , as your engine,s reluctance to freely rev up tells me the governor inside the injector pump could well be sticking due to being bone dry ! There is a hexagonal plug in the side of the Injector pump for the job , just fill it with many squirts from an oil can nozzle until oil just seeps out over the hole threads . The plug is located about one third along the Injector pump body from the rearmost end , then about one third the way up the pump , on the outside face . I did this for an old friend,s Leyland 255 & it became the lively , fiery engine it was supposed to be , as Leyland tractor engines have a certain " zing " about them if they,re anywhere near right , they are spirited engines despite their age now . Happy Spanners .
If it's a Simms pump there is a cold start button on the side.. it works a treat in cold weather or to get it going after you've run it out of fuel !! It isn't a obvious button but it's there Glad you fixed it 👍🇬🇧
Just re watched video. Yes it's a Simms. The button is in the middle of a linkage rod at the top right hand side of the pump👍 has a rubber boot around it😉
Good. I had 2 x 272syncro and a 804 , very very good tractors. I hope to get the 4100 at some stage.
You forgot the most important step starting a cold Leyland. Pressing the little button on throttle shaft of the injector pump. Your welcome.
Sorry, the button on the kill shaft of the injector pump.
Did the rotary pumps have the excess fuel button?
LEYLAND neden geç çalışır?
Thanks for sharing your happy moment! (From the Paint lady at Home Depot)
Thank you

What does that orange light indicate? Mine is on with various intensity depending on rpms
That would have fired up 50,000 times easier if you had just bled the airout of the injectors before trying to start it.
Well done you fantastic tractor :)

hi the old girl is turbo charged. nice
you need to use pre heaters ie glow plug these bmc diesels need the heat for cold starting.
thank you for the input, since the rebuilt injector pump which has a cold start button on it the beast starts the first time. Merry Christmas.
