Before the Formula 1-race in Valencia, Lewis Hamilton got a ride in the Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid with Niki Lauda.
In the private dialogue of world champions, the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver delivers insights into
his current situation, the joy of being back up front again, and the different possibilities of application of the
Hyrid-Technology of the Mercedes-Benz Hyrid-Technology. The Mercedes-Benz S400 Hyrid uses a similar
KERS-Hybrid-System like the one used in the Formula 1. - Авто та транспорт
Definitely a job interview. Niki had his sights on Hamilton for a long time.
Niki was plotting to take Lewis years ago. He's an emperor Palpatine of sorts.
Agreed, he had an eye on him for years. Rest in peace Niki
SO Lewis is Darth Vader and Niki is Palpatine?
Thats frighteningly accurate lol.
Bruh!!!!😳
Watched another interview right before this one, not even 5 minutes ago, and thought the very same thing....like dude really reminded me of palpatine 🤯
💯😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Niki said it was Ross brawn who convinced Lewis to go to mercedes
Niki Lauda is such a badass. What a legend.
senna was faster. lauda was number 2
+apmirkin Lauda was really fast so don't talk rubbish.
azynkron how is that rubbish?
Unlike Lewis
@@apmirkin1481 but lauda got back in the car after his horrific crash but senna not.. thats what makes lauda so much stronger
It takes a GREAT MAN to know another great man. Niki is a GREAT MAN and knows how great Lewis can be. Less than 8 minutes of conversation Niki can tell what Lewis can give to the Mercedes team and advice Mercedes to employ him.
I see this as a job interview. Am GLAD Niki witnesses his good work before he left us.
RIP Niki always be remembered 🙏🏾🌹
This is awesome. Clearly shows the admiration Niki has/had for Lewis as a driver and how much Lewis respects Niki. Not at all surprising that Niki was instrumental in convincing Lewis to come over to Mercedes. The rest is history......
Niki died last year and Lewis was a pallbearer. RIP NL
Two big legends.... RIP Niki ♥
One old school legend and one Mercedes mercenary.
lol I see only one
The side of Lewis so many people fail to see.
I think it's the side of Lewis many people miss, young talented humble guy that focused mostly on racing rather than PR work
Hamilton has won 5 world championships, 4 with Mercedes because Lauda talked him into coming over from Mclaren. Oh and he is also the best driver
5 with Mercedes technically. Since the Mclaren was powered by them.
@@The_Curious_Cat Erm, no. It doesn't work like that LOL. A Haas isn't a Ferrari is it? A Red Bull isn't a Honda. A McLaren isn't a Renault ffs. Retarded comment.
@@rosscowell8278 It actually does, I was obviously referring to the engine. That´s why I said "technically". You know when Mclaren won the titles with Mercedes or RB with Renault, the engine manufacturers share the title right? that´s why they are allowed to use the "F1 constructor´s champions" in their marketing campaigns.
So before running around saying "retarded comment" (which just makes you look like a pompous prick btw), learn some history and F1.
And now running for his 8th World Championship
3:45 which you are, but the car is not. Niki knew what he was doing here. Get Hamilton signed
but in 2009 there was no mercedes
@@miquelponssapena4566 Uhum Mercedes had the best powerunit of the field in 2009 and most used engine of all compared to Ferrari, Renault and Toyota
So Mercedes was already waiting a bright future ahead
what a job interview😂
Very intelligent and humble man. He has become someone I watch closely now and push myself to be great at whatever I do. I hope he continues to be safe and win!
+1
Respect +1
11 years later Lewis is the GOAT of F1 and Niki is racing with Senna in the clouds.
I think that was a job interview....
With the benefit of 8 years of hindsight!
R.I.P sir Niki. Legend
Imagine trying to catch this cab, and then looking at Lauda and Hamilton drive by. That would be some story to tell.
Lewis passed stage 1 of the Interview ;-)
Stage 1: #putonyourseatbelt 😆
This was definitely a job interview from lauda's side hahaha what a smart crafty guy 💯😏
He doesn't get the headlines. But Lauda is the wisdom behind the team.
Rest in Peace Niki! Kudos Lewis for being humble and honest!
Niki has always been my favourite driver, and I am too young to have ever have watched him race, I've only seen video footage. A very special man.
Rest in peace Niki. You were and will always be a true legend of the sport. F1 and the entire fans around the world will miss you incredibly.
Niki and Lewis, two of the all time greats!!
Now :)
incredible
2 of the very best F1 drivers ever
Neither of them is the very best, though.
@@druidofthefang NOBODY is the VERY best. It's all debatable. I'd say Senna, others say Jim Clark. Others Fangio and some say Schumi. But Lewis is in my opinion the VERY best of the 2000s
@@amsterdamG2G why are you telling me this? i said neither of them is the best.
@@druidofthefang because that is his opinion.
I do share your opinion though.
@@MiguelBaptista1981 in case you cant read, i already said the very same thing he said. we have the same opinion.
So much talent at so young, love that in Formula there's still so much involvement from the old pros, knowledge passing down. Niki, you're awesome. :)
It's like that with a lot of professional sports. NBA, Tennis immediately come to mind.
Lewis Hamilton is now 7 times world champion and now he is the most successful F1 driver in a formula one history with 99 wins👏
7 (*8) times world champion with over 103+ wins now
Two of Formula One‘s biggest legends cleanest legends and both of them are the only one that has a brilliant story or you can see background one fought against death and came out to win championship the other came out of poverty to become greatest of all time
Have you ever heard of the tradegy of Darth Plaegus the wise? Niki has been such an influential part of Mercedes-Benz signing Lewis
He stole Lewis. What a Genius!
Lewis is the MAN. He is so sweet.
Niki is great as a taxi driver! LOL and also as an interviewer. English misses alot not having Niki at the track. His interviews on German TV (RTL) are awesome! Hamilton is just awesome. Thanks for the upload!
Niki lauda is a legend
that is one expensive taxi...
Is the meter on? Lol
40 million british pound a year taxi, except that the passenger was the one that gets the pay
„Hallo, ich bin das Taxi!“
-just great, Niki. RIP.
:‘(
outstanding interview.
Niki should give f1 a try again... even if he'd finish last, id still respect him more then anyone else on the grid... just sayin
agreed
SilentReflection86 imagine if he had the technology now, back then
He can finish 4th. When he is half dead.. he wont finish last
just imagine driving to work or whatever, stopping at a red light and seeing those 2 legends in the car next to you...
Nikki and Lewis are masters of the fine details. They are similar in many ways.
Wow, Lewis is amazing. I love his attitude, his positivity. He is so motivated... perfect for Mclaren. And may I add that he is gorgeous :D
my 2 favourite f1 drivers of all time. God I miss Niki. rip
Here after he won 7. Interesting and insightful. Makes you wonder just how much this team feeds off each other
And Niki Lauda advised Mercedes to employ Hamilton... Well done!
Finally a video on motorsport.
Not about all the fuzz around. Although I would have liked to hear them talk more about the technical stuff that is a shared interest
Just viewed this for the first time.....maybe Lewis needs to remind himself there are always bad years ......I have a feeling next season will be good for him. You could see how Lauda admired Lewis's drive for excellence
Mis respetos para estos dos grandes y más para Niki Lauda por qué a pesar de su trágico accidente supo sobrellevarlo y convertirse en leyenda
Love how his voice has always stayed the same
Damn, what an honor :)
Two terrific sportsmen - Great Video!
DEFINITELY A LEGEND AND AN UPCOMING LEGEND...ONLY LEARNED OF THIS LEWIS HAMILTON...AFTER WATCHING HIM RACE....I BECAME IMMEDIATE FAN...ALWAYS OF NIKI LAUDA....HAMILTON REMINDS ME OF LAUDA STYLE OF DRIVING...FEARLESS PROFESSIONAL AND SMART
“Put on a seat belt” never forget about his 20% risk
Rip legend🙏
Interesting interview, the reason he's so good is it REALLY bothers him when he's not wining, when he can't be the best. It's nice for him to acknowledge he's learned a lot from Alonso.
this aged really well
@@mariolis it aged like a fine wine.
two legend on a legendary car
Imagine calling out for a taxi and BAM! It's Niki Lauda!!!!
Wow always great to see moments like this from the past. You never know what the future holds!
Wow, id love to be in that car with Lauda! ,love how he tells lewis to buckle up!
A great conversation between two great men...!!
Nikki Lauda.... legend.Lewis's face was like omg, Nikki Lauda my driver!
My idol..the legend.
Niki lauda is the best
Niki love lewis like son
Its the Camera Operator as you can see sometimes there are shots from the back of the car.
How is it filmed, from so much positions? Is it produced in front of a Bluebox-wall?
@tomboy287 Niki Lauda won 3 world championships at a time when F1 was extremely dangerous, he watched people die around him and got severely burnt himself,he nearly died. He returned to F1 in a few weeks after he got grilled in his Ferrari. He went on to win 2 world championships despite the fact he nearly lost his life, he was still gambling in dangerous cars. And then you go on to say that he is full of shit? He is only trying to offer advice to a man that could end up hurting himself.
bonita ciudad Valencia y toda su gente, soy Canario y aconsejo a todo el mundo ir, todo el mundo muy amable espero que se repita de por vida la Formula One, se lo merecen, lo unico buscar un poco mas de glamour.
Niki lauds is so cool
Best "Taxi" driver you could ever have.
@matrixlalala Nikki earned those pieces of the puzzle, he was given up for dead and given the last rites, then was back racing before the season was over and lost the championship by a single point if memory serves me. His recovery from horrendus burns was miracilous, he wears his scars, let them see what racing can do was his retort.
Lauda reminds me of my grandpa
It's very strange. He reminds me of a great uncle I never had
lewis is no doubt one of his kind driver you maybe tired keep seeing him winning but he is great driver F1 ever had i would like to see him driving for Ferrari soon.
Hell no
i hope you enjoy max's dominance then, it''s worse@@nessuno5403
You are the best Lewis!!
Two greats!!
Lewis pushed for wins and championships but McLaren weren’t prepared for it and that frustration was the reason he left a winning car and going to midfield car because he knew if they’re listen to him he can build a winning car but McLaren were too stubborn
Good to see Niki lauda's back on TV he's the past master..
This is your season Lewis!
6:52. Ketchup, ketchup, ketchup.
Good interview.
Niki forever 🙏👏👏👏
He speaks like an engineer
That was the moment Niki though I like what I heard and you’ll be coming to Mercedes when we buy brawn.
VERDADEIRAMENTE FANTASTICOS!
Benzema in the back seat! Lmao😂😂
Lauda is such an amazing man, a true man, he really is the Doctor when it came to driving.
Amazing video
Lewis was faster than Vettle on top gear... It does make you wonder
Yes
You're an Ayrton Senna fan? Seriously, do you have any idea how incredibly skilled and brave these guys were and are? Take a look at what Senna was trying to achieve in the sport other than being the best, safety, systems and as you will no doubt know this is where he started to be shunned by directors and other drivers, maybe you make that comparison to Hamilton but don't for one second think that Lauder is full of shit, the man is a legend.
"private dialogue" ?
I didn't notice there was a private dialogue. When was that exactly?
Whit how much kilometers you csn take this corner?
Niki conviced Lewis to join Mercedes-AMG in 2013 at the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix when his McLaren failed him again...
RIP Niki
Put your seatbelt on,now that's niki for you ,love this guy
Rest in peace, Niki!
0:31 "put the seatbelt on" :D
the man, the myth, the legend....
the guy on the back seat
@bosteritus right...
what a legend!
@hearts76100 Hamilton passed 32 cars in the first four races in 2010, that's a fair bit of exceptional driving. 5 drivers were in the title hunt going into the last 2 races. If that isn't exciting I don't know what is.
LEGEND✌️
Would have been a lot more exciting if the interview would have taken place at a track
@4evainter saying that he likes the car, that the hybrid cars are the future fand it's important for the cars to be economical. then he says lewis is a great guy, really easy to talk to etc. he enjoyed chatting with him.
Legends💜❤
