    Is ground speed mini is little different in neo as compared to the Ceo as per formula
    In fcom neo AC 1/3 (instantaneous wind - head wind )...?

    • @poh
      @poh  4 роки тому +2

      Its because the A320 CEO has a stronger deceleration capability than the A320 NEO.

    Would the GS mini function work incase any one or even both the Tower and Current headwind components is a tailwind?? Like if we have any one (Tower or current) component of 25 knots tailwind, would the system consider it as headwind of -25 knots or simply 0 knots?

    • @poh
      @poh  5 років тому

      There are tailwind limitations for the aircraft. And in tailwind conditions it maintains VLS at the least basically 0 knots.

    What does VLS stand for?

    What happens if an incorrect wind speed is entered in PERF? Like instead of 15 knots of headwind, a 15 knot headwind is enetered?

    • @poh
      @poh  4 роки тому

      It should not be done.. you will have a different computation of the Vapp by the FMGC which will affect your landing distance in return. Giving more headwind input in the perf page will increase your vapp and in turn increasing your landing distance.

      Sorry i meant entering a 15 knot tailwind, i have seen pilots do it when the tower wind is called variable 15 knots. Thanks for the replies.

      If wind is variable 25
      What do you enter?

      German Tobon if wind between 250 and 300 ° 25 knots, I will load 275/25

    We don't have any other protection during approach phase, that's the reason this GS mini feature was made?

    • @poh
      @poh  7 років тому +2

      No since aircraft is flying in Normal law during the approach as well, there are all the normal law protections available to the aircraft. But GS Mini is very unique to approach phase to cater for the continuous wind changes which is not available in the normal protections of the aircraft.

      So it's an additional layer of protection to prevent the stall warnings to become a common thing during gusty approaches?
