Kind of. It was Dan Jurgens being handed a situation where everything was already messed up, he seemingly knew nothing about the character's history and he had to dig his way out. And boy did that man dig. You could tell Dan knew Beyond fans were not happy with the story's original direction. Because by the end of the book's 2 volume run, it has shed all previously established connections to Future's End, and becomes a pretty fun, but diffrent telling of the Batman Beyond timeline. It was obvious Dan was trying to make things right. Most of the first volume was spent tying up Future's End, re-establishing the world of Batman Beyond and moving forward. It wasn't always perfect, but the art was solid as hell, even if the stories had shaky continuity. I enjoyed that run.
Actually it’s implied that the mayday spidergirl that appeared in spider-verse and in secret wars (2015) may not have been the original mc2 version. I think it was the original creators that said this, that it’s a version of her with some easy to miss changes. Meaning that mayday and her family still lived happily ever after.

Slapped out quickly to bank on the last drops of hype an event book has left. Often times helmed by a novice, or incompetent artist, standards be damned. There are times this is right on the money. But I find the quicker, sketchier, more off-model art those books tend to employ, usually winds up being more expressive, more fun and more intriguing than some of the art in mainstream books.

Furthermore, by offing Peter, implying her mother is dead and burning down her family home, Slott squeezes just this *one* barebones subplot out of Mayday, whereas the model and story engine established and lovingly built by Defalco, Frenz, Olliffe and co proved capable of generating over 130 issues of storylines. Even if you argue death isn't permanent in comics, the fact that that card has been played serves to weaken future stories that might be set in the MC2 (where death has been far more permanent on the whole, btw) and feature a character death. We also have the fact that now Mayday is stuck with this single story weighing her down in every appearance since because it's such a huge change. At this point, without ignoring everything post Spider-Verse, the character is shackled with this ludicrous multiversal connection and a dead/resurrected father that needs addressing. Adding insult to injury Slott even had a BS 'substitute' father figure dumped on the Parker family in the form of a crappy Uncle Ben who has no real emotional ties to anyone left alive in the MC2 and who couldn't possibly have held any weight as evidenced by his death shortly thereafter. So we have a huge change to the characters status quo, one that fundamentally misses the entire point of the character and her ethos while also being completely pointless because it did nothing to advance her own story (merely doing an imitation of Peter's Uncle Ben story instead) and didn't provide any permanent or viable options for a new direction. I can say that with confidence because evidently even Slott couldn't stand by his own crappy story decisions and had Peter resurrected in Spider-Geddon, a move which doesn't really resolve the problem, merely changing the nature of it. Oh, and sure. Quesada isn't all the great either but that doesn't change Slott's 'writing' being detrimental to the character's overall viability.

the storyline with Plastique gave me the feels. I loved the weird Terminator concept. It only had too many side plots that lead nowhere, but I still had a good time reading it.
Re: the "daemon" spelling, it's a Latinization of the original Greek word, "δαίμων," "spirit. Usually using that spelling is an intentional reference to Medieval Latin texts.
You should do a back issues episode on the Batman beyond rebirth run it's 1000X better than that run it's finally getting back on track within the last few months
