They did a few horror themed issues at that time... There was also a issue where Sabertooth escaped during a blackout in the Mansion and just stalked and killed everyone.
You cut out the part where aliens came into the store and we all had to team up to fight them back. You were wise to do that. I still can't believe I defended something from being put in the Wrong Box. It keeps me up at night, but I gotta stand by what I said. God help us if we were wrong.
Let's just say aliens came in, but none came out. The moment Ben took one of their ray guns, the outcome of the battle was decided. But, I have already said too much...
Bet this was inspired by Kafka's metamorphosis. I think they also did a few episodes of Peter turning into a multiple armed spider monster for a bit in the old animated series.
I really liked that Spider-Man Arachnamorphosus issue. Also liked the preceding issue that basically plays out the final act of a slasher film with Sabretooth as the killer, and Jubilee as the final girl. I also really love horror movies, so go figure I'd dig those.
The Sabretooth issue was fantastic especially right after reading the Sabretooth one-shot "Red Zone" with another fight between him and Jean Grey (the firecracker and the atom bomb). If you want horror find the ?What If. . . starring Havok. Essentially it features a pre-teen Summers Brothers and the Dark Beast. I appreciated Marvel turning What If into ?What If to incorporate a darker element. Oh and find the one with Nightcrawler and Rogue. THAT one was beautiful.
@@HellPhoenix6 I've read those, they're all from that odd time period What If was basically a horror comic. I'd dropped out of comics back when they were originally published, but read them much later on as an adult while going through the 2nd What If series. I was rather surprised when all of a sudden the comics just got really dark, haha.
@@antgto I dropped the whole X-Universe after that Age of Apocalypse anniversary trainwreck. I get around to reading the TPBs from the library but turning the AOA into an alternate reality was my pig's blood.
Hi guys, changing the subject a bit, I had a theme that could be used in Elseworlds exchane: what about talking about those villains that appear in the first issue and then were overtaken by others in terms of popularity. It occurred to me when I read The Amazing Spiderman # 1 of 1963 for the first time, where I learned that the chameleon was the first spidey supervillain, but although he is still part of the rogue gallery he is not as popular as Doctor Ock or Norman Osborn . I love you guys, keep up the good work.
Please do the What if Issue where they save the super-serum and it lead to Red SKull taking over the United States and Wolverine become a wendigo, falcon is antman and Punisher is Iron Man.
You most really not like side characters in Marvel because I really enjoy characters like Nova and Hercules and Darkhawk and Generation X. They actually have a large portion of fans....unless you mean just this time period specifically then yeah....I totally understand.
From what I remember, he was put in slytherin became best friends with Malfoy's kid, was bullied for 4 years. Accidentally erased everyone he loved from existance and ruined the timeline, and even after bringing back everything back to normal, Harry somehow still has a piece of Voldemort in him, I think they didn't really explain it. He basically almost ruined the Harry Potter universe because of his own incompetence.
Reed Richard "died" in 1993 he didn't return until 1995 this storyline came out in 1994 as stated by you this comic was written during that storyline. So the writer probably simply forgot Reed was dead. comicvine.gamespot.com/fantastic-four-381-and-then-they-were-3/4000-136895/
Idk, all those issues were pretty soul-drainingly depressing. The Black Cat marriage was about what I’d expect from a What If story in its fun nonsense interpretation of the characters: Spidey’s a masochistic douchebag, Black Cat is an obsessive basket case, and the only sane people are the criminals who give free therapy sessions after their asses are kicked. Meanwhile the evil parents story is just gratuitously cruel-hearted and relentless, and the horror story is hopeless sadness that no one asked for.
comicpop was filmed in front of a live studio audience
*cue canned laughter*
wow it really was
martin cortez no comic were hurt in this audience
No shit sherlock
cue smoov 80s key intro
That Black Cat Costume is forever tattooed to Felicia’s skin.
Im not going to complain about it lol
Sal leveled up from the 12 ounce can of Coke Zero to the 20 ounce bottle for the live taping!
They did a few horror themed issues at that time... There was also a issue where Sabertooth escaped during a blackout in the Mansion and just stalked and killed everyone.
I fucking love the “studio audience” feel this episode has to it. Really adds to the episode! :)
Kinda surprised no one has made this joke yet. This video is truly the start of the darkest timeline
I just wanna say that Ben looks like he's in great shape. Congrats to you man
The darkest timeline is the one without "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly"
Finally get to see it online, being there in person was amazing. Love you guys and the channel -Ricky
Live from New Jersey, It's ComicPop LIVE!!!
I love the people laughing in the background!
MJ appears to be smuggling balloons in her shirt on the cover of that second comic.
Back in my day that was all we had to get off too. Lol
I love the small crowd reactions
congrats on 70k
one of the best GBUs so far. laughed out many a time, nothing beats comicpop, RLM ties with it, does not beat the POPulation
We NEED a full dramatization of Black Cat and Aunt May celebrating the holidays!
You cut out the part where aliens came into the store and we all had to team up to fight them back. You were wise to do that.
I still can't believe I defended something from being put in the Wrong Box. It keeps me up at night, but I gotta stand by what I said. God help us if we were wrong.
My god even in real life you're everywhere
wait wait wait! wait! aliens invaded the store? how are you still commenting?
Let's just say aliens came in, but none came out. The moment Ben took one of their ray guns, the outcome of the battle was decided. But, I have already said too much...
One day you're gong to come to a new omnipotent level of commenting and you're gonna show up in real life
Hello again.
8:59 I immediately started thinking about 4 page letter by Aaliyah
Don't worry tiff I heard robit too and I immediately thought of zoidberg
Conclusion of that Black Cat-Spidey story: They don't get married and Hardy gets her own spin-off... Wait a minute. Get out of here, Tom King!
Getting Ben to do the relationship drama themed book was genius, I want to see more of it
Until they acknowledged the audience I thought I was in the early stages of schizophrenia
Who was that mysterious man at 27:53 ? XD
No really who is that
I love how Ben is like Tiffany's younger brother in his and her reactions.
Thank you guys always post when I need some good entertainment thanks for realz y'all cool asf
The part 2 of What if Spider-Man never married Mary Jane was the the first What if comic I bought
23:09 I love Aunt May!😂😂😂

"Thank you for ratcheting it up another decade" 😂😂
Oh Lord please do part 2 of the black cat/spidy what if soon you guys hooked me
Great episode.
Sal looks like he trimmed down. Keep up the good work guys. I love your show, and the passion you have for comics.
Great job guys another solid episode!
Because its time i gave GBU some rewatch 💘
I think this may be my fav episode of GBU
I actually love the Arachnomorphosis story.
The arachnomorphosis issue is dark but awesome. I would love a longer story based on it
That pop for New Jersey was good *claps*
I like how the crowd just Aw'd to Peter punching Robbie. Robbie is a cool dude who's always sticked his neck for Pete. Punching him is just too far
Chameleon!! Lol who would have known :') look at him go :')

Oh man, a Spider-Man episode filmed before live audience. Could this get any better?!
(Yes, if Ethan was here. Still awesome, though!)
Holy god this was four years ago and there were Doomsday Clock posters 😂 I feel like DC is still trying to deal w that stuff/erase it
I got an ad for some Hollow Earth conspiracy theory app before this video lmao
Kyle Lundy I just got it now.
good episode , reminds me of t.v little house days
Congrats
I've got the wedding and parents issues. As a kid, I had little to no context for the parents thing.
Aayyyeee it's here it's here!!!!
Lol. I have the parents one. It was okay
Cool location

Wooo wooo 70k (:
Haha! getting good and morefosused here.
No one ever remembers Brandi, Candi and Sandi? I think that was all three names from that era of the first what if comic
What if Batman and Cat Woman didn't get married...? ^_^
StevenErnest I guess we can only dream. What if sal didn’t love Tom King’s Batman series?
This comic pop is dark
Hey! Where's that 2nd part of What If Spiderman never got married?
Please come to Amazing Spiral in Baltimore!!!!!
So what did happen to Harry Potter's kid? I never really planned on reading the book about him...
@@FrozenLavaDragonProd Jesus...
10:04 nobody looks at her face.
I lie that they have a audience they should do back issues like this as well
Is Ethan on vacation or taking a break from the show? Feels like I haven't seen him in a while
Vacation
This also wasn't shot on our normal filming day, but he did arrive after we finished up filming gbu to talk with the audience.
That issue was a real low point for Kurt Busiek. 😬
The one what if we never got was if harry Osborn and marry Jane had married.
Reed Richards was "dead" during the pursuit storyline hence why he isn't there with the rest of the fantastic four
He literally says Reed Richards could figure it out in the book.
Reed Richard "died" in 1993 he didn't return until 1995 this storyline came out in 1994 as stated by you this comic was written during that storyline. So the writer probably simply forgot Reed was dead. comicvine.gamespot.com/fantastic-four-381-and-then-they-were-3/4000-136895/
Is this where the early videos were shot?
Nope
wait to you see the timline of Cartoon network be trying to reboot spiderman and downgrade him like TTG
Danny Finger Off?. Comics Code violation.

Yeah that's why the episode is called Spider-Man's Darkest Timelines.
strange issues
Is the old comic shop that they used to film in or was that a different place.
Different store: www.zappcomics.com/
😂😂
what if= wtf
That empty spot under the Predator toy in the background is really messing with me
what if Spider-Man never married mj so you mean one more day.
Tyler this What If PreDateds One more Day
Zurku I know I was making a funny.
Oh Okay
Congrats on 70k
