Be sure to replace the rad cap on the exchanger. There only good for 10 years. Mine went bad at 11pm coming back to states just as I'm entering key Biscayne. Bam, overheating engine in crazy winds with a reef on either side. 10 dollar cap was the problem. You know it won't go bad on a lovely June cruise to STM.
Thanks! Yeah mine was looking rusty on the top exterior so thought about replacing it based on aesthetics, but now will definitely replace it after this information.

@seachalet_281 it's the rubber seal under it that dries out, shrinks and cracks over time. Cheap to replace and keep the old one Just in case.
