Lovely video, it's been rather moving reading the comments from those that can't make these climbs any more but get great pleasure from watching you both.
I wholeheartedly agree they are the real heroes along with other mountaineering volunteers. I recently went up Ben Vrackie outside Pitlochry and the path up there is very well made. It's a Corbett, not a Munro, but nonetheless the hike is very strenuous
As an another disabled person i really don't think you realise how much happiness your videos brings to us who are unable to do those amazing hikes it lets us see that amazing scenery thanks from the bottom of my heart ❤️ for making the videos ( I'm near in tears writing this ) thanks again
Schiehallion was used to calculate the mass of the planet in 1774. It’s a nice regular shape and quite isolated from other hills. They used a pendulum and measured the deviation towards the hill. They had to invent contour lines too. I don’t remember a well defined path near the top, it’s a bit wide and fairly easy to see where you’re going. It was my 100th Munro about 25 years ago. I’ve been back since as it’s quite a nice one.
Was going to post this. But it's not so much that they *had* to invent contour lines; more that the expedition's surveyor had made altitude measurements on all sides of the mountain. He then had the bright idea to draw lines connecting points of the same altitude, and realized he'd invented contour lines.
You both belted up there, so clearly you're both fit as a fiddle. Alicia barely seemed to get out of breath! A real treat, on a Tuesday as well. You are spoiling us. I consider myself cheered up. Thank you.
Oh this is extraordinary! Thank you both so much! Who made the Celtic circles in the Rock at the Summit do you know! And yes! Scotland at its best! Aye! 🙋🏴🇮🇪🙏
Even before I became mobility challenged, this would not be my choice of exercise. A woodland path is more my style. Now I'm also too old along with my limitations. I did enjoy 'climbing' with you both.
Scotland definitely has the best the British isles have to offer. Watching this without seeing another single person except you and your better half makes me wish I was there instead of London.
Lovely! a wee song for you two Sure by Tummel and Loch Rannoch and Lochaber I will go By heather tracks wi' heaven in their wiles. If it's thinkin' in your inner heart the braggart's in my step You've never smelled the tangle o' the Isles. Oh the far Cuillins are puttin' love on me As step I wi' my cromach to the Isles.
This video and the talk of Ben Nevis, reminded me that when I was 5, we stayed in fort william in the campsite at the foot of Ben Nevis and one evening, the family decided to take a stroll up the path of Ben Nevis never intending to walk more than maybe half way. I remember standing on the summet cairn in the middle of june, the rest of the family turned back but my uncle and I climbed it. My mum remembers when I got back down it was my 'bedtime' and I tried to prove I wasn't tired by doing star jumps and running around. 10 mins later I passed out in a chair and got carried to bed..... This looks so beautiful as a walk will have to be one on my to do list :)
Beautiful scenery and love the surrounding mountains with all the snow. Steve the only reason Alicja is ahead of you is that you carrying that heavy camera Lol. Thanks Steve for the bonus video.
Sunny day motorbike out Lakeland hills n back roads ...back to stonking evening self made meal bottle of tirril pilsner along with a superb climb and views from steve n alicia perfic day ....12/10
Amazing! Thrilling climb! Dazzling snow capped peaks & Summit! Spectacular views! Wild & wooly weather, accompanied by a beautiful deep blue sky with so many fluffy, yet foreboding, looking clouds, especially the huge dark one just above your heads there! Yikes! All of this. along with a couple of cute wee dogs...and people. LOL. What more could we ask for? Well, maybe just some jelly babies from Alicja's 'secret bag' there. LOL.Thank you for sharing this exhilarating experience! You 'guys' are definitely never 'Dull' or 'Boring.' Indeed!.Scotland truly is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Blessings to you both!
Well done, you two! What gorgeous views from up there. You made me laugh with the sign for Dull…I don’t live all that far from Boring! Cheers, and ATB!
Beautiful landscape with mountains, snow covered peaks, lochs, green valleys, dramatic cloud streets, so so beautiful, thank you you two lovelies for bringing beautiful Scotland in my living room ❤
The reward for reaching the top, a stunning vista as far as the eye can see....that is my take on Scottish mountains the days the weather is right! Do the North face on Ben Nevis, a stunning route
Thank you Alicja and Steve for a wonderful video. The views were amazing. Whoever built that path did a great job and it can't have been easy ! Looking forward to your Ben Nevis trip.
I think you found the formula for future successful mountain climbs. Set your expectations low, such that when you only get so far, you’ve still got a success, and when everything falls into place, you summit and you feel grand!
The views were amazing. You could sit there for hours just taking it all in. Seeing you walking up all those endless steps, reminded me of when you need the toilet in a Weatherspoons 😂 Stunning video, Steve and Alicja! Hope you're both well. Andy.
Brilliant effort and a lovely memory for me as I climbed Schehallion around 40 years ago . The views are simply stunning and even more dramatic in the snow . I did go to climb it again a few years later but the weather closed in and we had to turn back .
Awesome scenery - really stunning. Not sure I would try it though - those jagged rocks look really dangerous near the top. You two and Scott should be paid by Scottish Tourist Board for really selling the country. Well done!
A nice little day hike up a mountain! Looked like a lot of fun, and amazing views. Looking at all that uneven rocky terrain made my feet hurt though. Thanks for taking us on your journey!❤
As another disabled Person you have truly opened up my World. I am not just watching your adventures on UA-cam, I am there with you experiencing them. Thank you so much for sharing them.
Great video guys, it brought back a lot of memories from the mid 70's, when a group of us scouts climbed it in mid August, when at the top, it was a thrill to look down on RAF training run, thanks again.👍👍👏👏
Talking about Ben Nevis- 31 years ago a friend and I, (plus a driver) climbed Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowden the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in one day. 😮 A future challenge Steve ???😅
This was a fantastic climb. So much open country to see as you climb that steep mountain. Getting down is a lot harder than climbing up I always find. Thanks for a great video and I like your beard that you are growing. 👍🧔♂
I am too disabled. And I loved my time hiking and camping miss it however your videos bring great joy. Scotland is a place I have always wanted to visit Thank you
The John Muir Trust is a Scottish charity established in 1983. They own over 60,000 acres of land including around Schiehallion and the summit of Ben Nevis. Their raison d'etre is to conserve, protect and restore the UK's wild places for the benefit of us all. Like a number of charities they've had a tough time of late so I'd encourage anyone who cares and enjoys wild places to become a member.
He was from Dunbar, on the east coast of Scotland. There is a long distance trail, which goes from Helensburgh, on the west coast, to Dunbar, and it's called the John Muir Way.
That for showing round the schiehallion mountain and it will be awesome to see the view and the dogs and the views is really wonderful and the pathway is very hard and the snow on the top hope you both had a good walk up and down the mountain and the views as well thanks
Such beauty from the clouds to the mountains to the valley below! Well captured. Bonus: the thought of eating seafood while gazing downwards from over 3,000 feet above sea level. 🙂 (I wonder how long ago those Celtic runes were carved at the summit. So much to soak in...)
Did this one about 4/5 years ago. Fantastic climb. The views are magnificent, especially from the top towards Rannoch Moor. I did it in bitterly cold full winter conditions (early Jan), I can confirm that the Boulder field near the top is pretty tricky under snow, gotta be extremely careful with foot placement. The larger hill to the SW is Ben Lawers, another fantastic and not too challenging climb, and you can tick of a few summits on that one easy.
Thank you for a lovely relaxing video of your climb! Well, relaxing for me! 😀 What beautiful views on such a sunny day! Next time we are up in Perthshire, we plan on visiting the car park and I think I might be able to walk along the start of the path! Thanks again! 😀💕
Lovely video, it's been rather moving reading the comments from those that can't make these climbs any more but get great pleasure from watching you both.
Shout out to the folks who build the stone paths up the mountains. Great views on your adventure 😊 🏴
I wholeheartedly agree they are the real heroes along with other mountaineering volunteers. I recently went up Ben Vrackie outside Pitlochry and the path up there is very well made. It's a Corbett, not a Munro, but nonetheless the hike is very strenuous
Thanks Gordon, I was one of them who built the path👍👍🏴🏴🏴🏴
As an another disabled person i really don't think you realise how much happiness your videos brings to us who are unable to do those amazing hikes it lets us see that amazing scenery thanks from the bottom of my heart ❤️ for making the videos ( I'm near in tears writing this ) thanks again
I'll echo that! 👍
@@eekee6034 So do I!
And me too!❤
Ach, justwonderful. Thank you both. THe name of this hill is from the Gaelic for ' Fairy hill of the caledonians".
Enjoyed that....Going up tests your lungs, going down tests your knees!

Love the fact on 1774. My family must have used some of this data in their map making, especially the contour aspect.
Was going to post this. But it's not so much that they *had* to invent contour lines; more that the expedition's surveyor had made altitude measurements on all sides of the mountain. He then had the bright idea to draw lines connecting points of the same altitude, and realized he'd invented contour lines.
You're right Steve. " Scotland you are beautiful". Well done to you both. 👍😊
Good to see the two of you out together at such a beautiful quiet location. The views were stunning. Looking forward to Ben Nevis.
Nothing Dull about the two of you! Fun video w beautiful Scotland shining like she does!
You both belted up there, so clearly you're both fit as a fiddle. Alicia barely seemed to get out of breath! A real treat, on a Tuesday as well. You are spoiling us. I consider myself cheered up. Thank you.
What a surprise. I am near the end of two weeks in the area. This mountain is my view from my rented cottage.
Respect...Steve and Alicja. So worth the effort to reach the summit. One of my favourite walks. You've brought it all back to me.. A big thankyou.😊
Oh this is extraordinary! Thank you both so much! Who made the Celtic circles in the Rock at the Summit do you know! And yes! Scotland at its best! Aye! 🙋🏴🇮🇪🙏

Best video yet Steve and Alicja. Even beats trhe pub crawls. 👍
Even before I became mobility challenged, this would not be my choice of exercise. A woodland path is more my style. Now I'm also too old along with my limitations. I did enjoy 'climbing' with you both.
Scotland is beautifull as you said. Thank you!👍
Scotland definitely has the best the British isles have to offer.
Watching this without seeing another single person except you and your better half makes me wish I was there instead of London.
I love how, when you say in the video that don't know something, you put in the name so that we don't have to struggle trying to look it up.
Alicja and Steve , congratulations on defeating the peak! What breathtaking views you have! Scotland shown by you is just amazing 👏💚
So fun! Thanks for taking us along. What a view. Loved the Dull and Boring sign. Y’all are so cute.

Well done, you two! What gorgeous views from up there. You made me laugh with the sign for Dull…I don’t live all that far from Boring! Cheers, and ATB!

The shattered rock field leading to the summit was such a contrast with both the lower section of the path and the views.
...And those views 🙂

10/10 steve, those of us that cannot do that themselves physically can look at this and have the same experience without the danger or cold wind
7:00 regularly looking where you’ve come from also helps massively for navigating the return journey 👍
Magnificent views and snow thrown in a wonderful climb but too much for me these days, loved the sign at the end, best wishes and stay safe.

Interesting to see John Muir's name on those signs. I associate him with saving Yosemite and never realised he did good work in Scotland as well.
Muir was from Scotland.

Take it easy Steve as seam out of breath walking up all these steps and hills or mountains
It's not easy to vlog and climb mountains at the same time, that tends to be the problem.
Amazing views thanks guys ❤
Watching now and I think that I just must visit this place in near future 😍🙂👍
