SeaWorld Orlando Is Resurrecting The Worst Roller Coaster

- SeaWorld Orlando are bringing back one of the worst roller coasters in the world. The stand up coaster. SeaWorld Orlando 2022, full of psychopaths. The rollercoasters name is Pipeline The Surf Coaster, perhaps one of the worst rollercoaster names ever. Theme parks and amusement parks usually like to avoid taking risks on new roller coasters nowadays, but the maniacs at Sea World Orlando are not only taking a risk, but they're trying to bring back one of the worst roller coasters ever. SeaWorld roller coasters don't need to be stand up coasters! Idiots! Or... am I the idiot and has SeaWorld Florida truly resurrected this dead roller coaster concept?

As much as I hate standing coasters, I’m excited to see seaworld’s take on one. They haven’t failed us yet, so i hope it’s true this time too
Ice Breaker was a fail, cmon
You saying as if seaworld is making the coaster, and not b&m
@@robw5741 seaworld hires specific companies, so its on them if they hire a company incapable of making good coasters
@@kristinhotaling5132 right but it's not SeaWorld take on anything. They don't design the coaster
@@jigglyjellyjaspy2728 how
theme park enthusiasts get so pressed when a manufacturer makes something that isint the most intense coaster ever
Another aspect is that it looks like there’s more support below the butt, which will take some pressure off the bike seat of doom. This essentially turns the surf coaster into a sit-down coaster during moments of high positives, which should significantly help out. I’m looking forwards to seeing how this pans out!
Very good point. I hope you’re right champ!
I don’t find standup coasters to be that bad, especially Riddler’s Revenge. As long you adjust your seat correctly and as well as wear the right “pants”, then they are actually fun and intense. Hopefully, this will be a good improvement for future standing coasters from now on. But yes, I understand why not everybody likes the standing experience.
If I end up near a standup, what "pants" might I need?
I like the stand-up coaster that I've personally been on, the Georgia Scorcher.
This certainly looks a lot more comfortable than the last generation.
When I was younger my family went to Great Adventure. I only remember three things from there.
-Houdini's was super cool
-My sister chickened out on Ka
-Green Lantern sucked major balls and my legs/ankles were in pain.
yes i'm a also a chicken at kingda ka
Attraction Ideas always fitting Shrek into the video when necessary 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly this doesn't seem THAT bad, at least they didn't purchase a Skywarp or a Volare coaster
Though imagine if Skyline also paid RMC to fix their poor CAM/CAD shaping(not just fabrication)
Green Lantern can be a "walk on", but you sure won't walk *off*...
Do you think the bouncing sensation will create a unique airtime experience? I feel like the pop up could create a floating experience over airtime hills that will be unmatched until others are made. Will be interesting for sure.
I think it absolutely could, especially on that airtime hill after the launch. But we’re in new territory here so who really knows
@@AttractionIdeas the entire restraint system moves so you can bend your knees and whatnot the head banging shouldn’t be that much of an issue now
Probably would be heavily damped
@@AttractionIdeas I like how you say a kindergartener could recreate the clip srt then immediately say how it looks over complicated. Make your mind up man 😅
As someone with foot pain I’m scared of those coasters
Why be scared? Just don't ride it.
The enthusiastic “soMethiNG GreAt uP TheIr SLEEEVE-“🤣🤣
When Attracrions Ideas uploads you know it’s gonna be a good day

It looks like a better version of the standing coaster, and I think it really matches with SeaWorld as a whole.
It looks like the passengers are leaning on their butts and not putting their legs fully on the ground. So not only are they bobbing up and down, there's less strain on the legs with leaning.
Honestly, sitting coasters were bad at first as well, but over the generations, they eventually improved and became barrable. I have faith.
I’m really glad I stuck around until the end of this video 😅😂😊
I was close to turning it off coz of the negative way it started
But no this is how a critic should be.
If they hate or love something they are open minded about how they think about it and are willing to change when
it’s logical. This was greatly done you just got me subscribed 😁👍🏻
Good video, haha! The over-the-top-pessimistic tone of it had me rolling! LOL!
I unironically love standup coasters. I notice the 2-across seats, and it potentially seems it could have a more comfortable experience. If it is successful, I'd love to see them replace already existing b&m stand-ups with those nicer trains
As a Creative Director working in marketing for over 15 years. I actually think the logo is pretty good haha
It might not be to anyone’s tease. But the wave+surfer+coaster track is very clear and simple marketing at this stage.
I always use the “at a glance” value with introducing new messaging and comms to a broad audience. And I think the logo quickly explains the core selling point of the product without needing to see the 3D cads, mock ups, press releases and promotional videos.
So visually it might not be to everyone’s taste but as a base to-the-point visual - it works!
I really like the logo too. The colors are super pleasing
The Logo is Excellent, the boy who criticizes it is an idiot, He doesn't know about logos and he said he could buy it in a clipart shop or do it himself in minutes... I'm a senior graphic designer and I stopped watching his video after this... truly idiot
I hear decent things about Riddler's Revenge (and Georgia Scorcher especially), but this definitely looks like the most comfortable standup
And now I can revisit this video and tell you Pipeline is amazing!! Got 7 rides last night and is only behind mako for my favorite in the park. Truly unique experience and standing airtime is a thing of beauty!!!
i've always wanted to ride a stand up coaster, so this is awesome
Yeah give this one a shot, but please whatever you do don’t ride the old ones…
@@AttractionIdeas yes sir 😭
The one at Carrowinds, NC is really hard on your knees!
They are learning from the mistakes
I really like all the coasters sea world Orlando has so hopefully Pipeline meets my expectations, I’m quite excited and hope I get to ride it one day soon
I have never ridden on a stand up coaster, so that bike seat restraint sounds like, to quote Defunctland’s video on Green Lantern: First Flight, “a pelvic nightmare.”
I think as long as the standing position is not uncomfortable like green lantern I think this launch coaster can stand out and not be another launch coaster with LSM launches. Love your vids
I'm glad stand-up coasters are making a comeback. I've enjoyed them over the years.
Oh... and the name of the coaster is simply "Pipeline". The Surf Coaster is a description. I'm guessing you don't have any knowledge of the giant waves in Hawaii?
After this stand up coaster, I don't think I ever want to ride this stand up coaster or any stand up coaster
The conversion of Apocalypse to the Firebird at Six Flags America greatly improved the ride. I would never ride it before, but afterwards I’d do go out of my way to ride it now!
In the six flags in NJ I went on the green lantern standup coaster, next half hour felt like my legs were broken lol
Really excited about this one! I just hope it's a little bit longer than Ice-breaker.
It’s a standing coaster with a twist… I’m very excited to see how this launching stand up coaster holds ground… it is in fact a new concept
This is going to be totally gnarly dude😂😂😂😂🏄♂️
I know you're gonna hear about Riddlers' Revenge a lot. To put it to you this way: my niece rode it with her glasses on! I've even seen people ride it locked in place with their feet hanging! It's a great ride and still one of my favorites of all times. In contrast, I rode Vortex at Great America expecting the same experience. I had my hands raised only to brace myself after the vertical loop. You rode the wrong stand-up! This Pipeline roller coaster does look good but I'm disappointed in the layout (sorry, l'm comparing it with Riddler's Revenge).
You had me in the first half, ngl
If B&M is making it im sure they've put their trials & tribulations to the test ti create the best version of a stand up coaster. Plus I'm a huge fan of Riddlers so 🤷♂️
Mark my words that this is gonna be a hit with the public and even coaster enthusiasts will make apologies to this awesome coaster
as someone with weak legs you wouldnt catch me on a stand-up coaster either. it looks so horrible. i really do agree.
Rode the standing coaster in Cedar Point back in 09'. My #1 memory of that ride to this day is my head bashing left and right.
Did it in 07, and was my first stand up coaster as well. Definitely enjoyed it, honestly.
OMG! I must be alone, but standups were always my fav.
Something that I’ve noticed is that most stand ups have so many inversions and they are a little older. But pipeline has ONE inversion, and will be newly engineered so I’d expect it to be very smooth. The restraints on pipeline also seem to be fairly large. With the main frame more out and then the “life jacket” comfort collar. With the seat moving up and down with the g forces it may also make the ride smoother. Personally I think this will be a major success but I can see why other people don’t think that as well.
The only tolerable standup coaster is the Georgia Scorcher at Six Flags over Georgia
Wow! I always wanted to ride a stand up. Now? Not so much!😂
glad you mentioned the crotch damage. I think it's also a tricky seat to position on since it raises between your legs as you lower the shoulder restraint so you're not able to sit on it like you might a bike. It just hits me as the seat raises and I jump from the surprise and it clicks in place. Then I'm already in pain BEFORE we get to the coaster part because I can't change the ratchet on the seat or reposition myself as I've been tightly restrained resting on my balls.
Also never cared to continue standing after standing in line the entire time.
The Legend has RETURNED!!!
I can already see that someone will lock there legs and break said legs
I've never been on a old stand up coaster, and I never will, as they are barely rideable. This one does seem rideable, so hopefully our expectations won't fail us.
Me & my dad ride the Georgia Scorcher at six flags and it was so uncomfortable
Ok so I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t blinded by the surfboard gimmick
Okay this ride actually looks pretty fun ngl. I remember riding Iron Wolf at Great America and it was a standing coaster and I couldn't wait for it to be over. I think sea worlds biggest thing will be to translate that this is a more comfortable experience
I've never ridden a stand up coaster and have never had the desire to ride one. But this ride has me curious.
That looks fun as hell to me!
I have ridden Mantis and Green Lantern. I’ve personally never had any issues outside of the minor head banging, which can easily be removed with vest restraints.
But idk. Maybe I’m tolerant to pain. Or have accidentally did the tricks without knowing.
The Vortex in Carowinds is a standing coaster that was not built for boys. I swear riding that will give you a vasectomy if you position yourself wrong
I actually enjoyed that one. Even did it several times.
Ok, can we just take a second to talk about the suspension seats. It will probably be close to the feeling of riding a bike.
I remember about 4-5 years ago I waited in line for Green Lantern at Great Adventure and then about 2 rides before mine it got stuck going up the lift and ended up shutting down for the day.. I was mad at the time but after watching this, kind of glad I didn’t make it on lol
You are truly one of the lucky ones
I just got off this roller coaster this morning. For whatever reason, I felt quite a bit pain at the end of my tailbone. It’s a few hours now but It hasn’t gone away yet. The pain level is close to a 5, especially if I’m sitting. I would never be on the ride if I knew it has some chances of hurting my lower back because of the bicycle seats.
I may just be really dumb, but the one stand-up I did ride I actually really liked, the "Georgia Scorcher" at Six Flags over GA. I don't stand up all the way, but kind of this in-between of standing and sitting as if I'm surfing a wave. I actually didn't know that people had major issues with it.
I rode the mantis at cedar point when it was a stand up coaster years and years ago thought it was great.
Same.
Honestly, that adjusting height thing looks like it would be a lot easier on the knees too, seeing as the ride sort of "eases you into" suddenly putting weight on them.
Now if they made a skateboard themed ride with these restraints, that would be wicked
You made one error… You said that the standup coaster is the worst coaster model ever. The worst is in fact the zac spin. Standup is a close second though.
As someone that has written this coast so many times right now I can say it’s way better and way more comfortable than the old standup. Don’t judge your book by its cover.
I love stand ups. I guess I lucked out. The stands ups by me had a vest like restraint where you brought the two pieces together over the chest. And the trick to the legs is to stand at an angle without the knees locked
I dont think you can compare the old stand ups to this new one. Im sure they've developed new tech and new systems that will make this one completely different. Im guessing the old ones where probably built with the very minimum of computer aided design.
When I was at Magic Mountain we went on Riddler, and my brother was too light to push the crotch piece down with his own weight so when the ride ended and the lock released the restraint hit him right in the balls
remember the surf coaster they kept hinting at?
well its been finally revealed
I found green lantern fun. I got no head banging and no crotch slamming. Maybe I got lucky lol.
I don’t know why but riddlers revenge is the only coaster I’ve felt sick on and I’ve been on rides that are more intense and I’m slightly confused
They ran out of their original stand ups to convert so they needed to make more
Mantis at CP was definitely not underridden. It hit a million writers every season.
Your a poet? Or more of an essay guy?
Another nut buster coaster I feel the pain already
I worked Mantis at CP in 99 & I still have my hand drawn blueprint for what we mashed up as Raptor and Mantis " Raptis" I called it back then that the design would come back, and it has. Mantis was easy to ride, just don't lock your legs, we would say that in the military and folks would do it, the seat does not crotch you, if your crotched, you're not positioned right. Anyone ever ride a stand up facing the opposite way, that was a different experience.
I like the logo. Even though it's pretty "basic" it fits the surfer/beach aesthetic. If anything I would add weathering to it to make it fit the aesthetic a bit more.
Thank you, you articulating how I feel about this better than I could today. Having grown up as an East Coast Surfer I think you described the aesthetic perfectly.
Great perspective.
Georgia Scorcher at SFOG is actually very good as long as you adjust the seat correctly. The worst stand was Shockwave at KD followed closely by Cobra at La Ronde
Georgia Scorcher is a standup coaster and I really like it. It was very very very very smooth the last time that I rode it. loads of fun
I have been on many Rollercoaster. Riddler's Revenge at Six Flags Magic Mountain, being one of them. It's a stand up, 146 foot drop, and over 4000 feet long. Amazing ride! You should go to Magic Mountain! X2, Twisted Colossus, Top Gun, Riddler's Revenge, Goliath, Super Man, Drop of Doom and Tatsu, are some of the BEST rides you'll ever experience. Tatsu is the only one I was uncomfortable on. The G force at the end felt insane. It's the only coaster that I thought I might black out on.
That being said, I would absolutely ride Pipeline. X2, is my favorite coaster of all time. Nothing else like it!
I’m curious to see what happens when a rider locks their legs when the harness moves down. Will the harness stay put when it meets resistance or will it break the rider’s knees and/or ankles?
yeah, my friends knees dislocate very often, i wonder HOW safe it is
Also, both Busch Gardens parks need coasters like this.
I rode that ride when it was Chang and never had an issue with it. Maybe it's because I rode it when it was brand new.
I also rode The King Cobra at Kings Island and didn't have any issue on that one either.
Was king cobra better than shockwave at kd
Can you do a video about a replacement for Woodpecker's KidZone since it's closing next year?
I probably will
Lol I rode Green Lantern with my fiancé. Worst roller coaster we’ve been on. Out of 200 roller coasters she’s been on that was only the second that made her lose her lunch.
I didn’t realise seaworld was resurrecting the volare
I’m actually looking forward to trying it out. I didn’t mind Riddlers Revenge and enjoyed Georgia Scorcher….didn’t love Iron Wolf or Mantis, but there are far worse coasters out there.
The redesign, bobbing effect, restraint, and 2 across seating will make this a more enjoyable ride i believe.
It’s a new coaster, you’ll survive.
I actually really enjoyed riddlers at magic mountain 😅
I thought this was going to be a hersheypark video for a quick second
I don't understand the complaints people have about standups. I thought Riddlers Revenge was fine when I rode it in 2015 and if that can be improved on, I don't see why stand-ups shouldn't have a comeback.
Looking at the legs moving on the ride creeps me out.
Who's here after passholder previews of Pipeline and people saying it's great?
I love standing coasters and wish people just understood how to load up well to enjoy the ride ☺️ I'm excited to see this revival
I love stand ups. I’ve ridden several and still enjoy Vortex at Carowinds. It’s a must every trip there. Of course, I also enjoy the Vekoma Flying Dutchman, so maybe I’m just an anomaly.
Yeah you must be an anomaly. I love Riddler's and thought that all of the negativity about standups was just people whining, but holy moly Vortex is bad. It's the only roller coaster I'll never re-ride again.
your NUTS! i have been on a stand up it was awesome
If all fails, hope they have room to convert it to wing coaster
My take on stand up rides, having had many rides on Riddlers Revenge, is that I don't wanna do the work for a ride experience. I want to sit down and let the ride do the work. I don't see the point in stand up coasters. My legs get all the load when going through the positive forces like on loops and turns and all the blood goes there and it's like taking a fast helix on an invert and I'm not the biggest fan of that at all if it's the whole ride, which it is on stand up coasters.
Vekoma's dutchman Flying for exemple are so bad. But FLY is brillant. I think Will happend the same with Stunt up coasters
This is the sleeper roller coaster of the year, if it’s smooth as I hope ,people will be hoping on the bandwagon watch
This aged so well
If that instruction video from Canobie Coaster exists, then why won’t you try his method to get a better ride on Green Lantern? I saw it and when I went on it I actually didn’t find it as bad as others say.
I lived near Canada‘s Wonderland and for 20 years they had a stand up roller coaster there and it was my favourite roller coaster in the entire world. It was so much fun and I was really really sad when they decided to close it stand up roller coasters are the most fun roller coaster out there.
