I have this exact cat with the 3.3T AWD. I didn't want my kids to have so much control from the backseat in the Ultimate. :) The G90 has such a smooth ride. It can be quick when needed as 13s in the 1/4 however, the more I drive it, the more I appreciate the cruise/smooth ride. I love my leather dash and authentic wood. Great review! You’re one of the few reviewers, sadly, that talks about potholes, manhole covers, and how different bumps might feel, which is what a luxury buyer wants to know! I’ve seen a couple of your photo/video equipment reviews. They are total super detailed geek-out great reviews!
cadillac ct6's exterior is more attractive, in my opinion, but the g90's interior is waaaaaaaaaay more luxurious and expensive looking than the cadillac's. well done, genesis!
Hello from Regina SK. I came across your review of the Genesis G90 as I wanted to learn more, and see more, of this car. I have seen it some of my car magazines but I hadn't seen an actual video review. You did a great job. I liked your video so much that I subscribed to your channel within the first five minutes. I could never afford a car such as this so it is nice to ride along with you to get a better understanding. I don't even own a car. City transit is unfortunately my means of getting around. Keep up the great videos, and thank you! 😊
Hi, you nailed two things that i am totally agreed. 1. No Panorama Roof! Buyer in this level want option with big sun roof. 2. the speedo display is dated. I will probably pick one up once it is under 50k.
I have a 2017 G90 5.0AWD and ordered a 2020 G90 5.0 AWD in Uyuni White with the Beige/Havana last week. The only downside is I have to wait 2 to 3 months to get mine. Distribution in the US is abysmal. The G90 is a fantastic bargain for the money. I shopped the A8, 750i and S-Class and you get 90% of the luxury in the G90 at 70% of the price. Plus exclusivity. I got my 2017 G90 in May 2017 and have only seen one other in the almost 3 years. Biggest downside is they need to speed up the standalone dealerships. Going to a Hyundai dealership to order a $79,000 car seems a bit ludicrous. Not that I have anything against Hyundai, my other car is a Kona Ironman (yes I bought a Kona Ironman!). SO here I sit anxiously awaiting my 2020 G90.
We dont see many of these where I live, but I would LOVE to be a spokesperson for this car. The interior is superb. I love the modern technology combined with the classic chrome buttons. The ambient lighting also sets this thing apart from other vehicles. V-8 rivals the 3.0 liter twin turbo cadillac CT6 blackwing engine. I'm not a fan of the rim's, but I would represent Hyundai Genesis with great enthusiasm. I'd be willing to bet I could even sell one or two. Lol
I recently purchased a 2013 Genesis R-Spec. It is such a nice ride. It is quiet, smooth, roomy, and quicker than most cars on the road. The good and bad thing about poor resale value is, you can get one used a few years for not much money, but you also never want to buy one new. This G90 would be a great car, but you'll be able to get one for 20k in 4-6 years.
Hi, I own a G90. First, I love the car. I had a BMW 740 and the G90 is, pound for pound just as nice if not better. Before you purchase a G90, call the service dept and ask for service. Then, ask for a loaner car and/or valet pickup. In the Atlanta area, the 3 dealers I've dealt with, to get oil changes, any type of service, there is no loaner car, no valet and it'll take 1-2 months to get service. So, let's say your car overheats. You'll not be able to drive it or go without your car till service can be done. I've even called the 800 Genesis Connected Service number to complain and see if something could be done. Guess what ... they spoke a good tune just like the dealership but they haven't done ANYTHING. If I wanted to be ignored or make to feel insignificant I could have just stayed with my BMW and their overpriced service dept. Speaking of overpriced, the 5000 mile oil change at the dealership was $180. For an oil change !!!! Again, I might as well go back to BMW. Do the research and know that you've been warned. Happy driving.
I was just at the OC auto show a few weeks back and Genesis was there... but they were NOT offering test drives. For the last three years I have seen Genesis there and they have yet to offer test drives. It's ironic I have to go to a kiosk at an airport of all places to set one up. I really like the G90. The soft close doors used to be a feature on the Lexus LS that they have since removed. But their dealer network is a mess and the 2020 isn't even being marketed in the US yet. I also wish they offered a dark red metallic - that serengeti brown is hideous.
$89750 + tax is $103190 (here in Quebec). That's a $1720 cdn monthly payment for 5 years (not even including the loan interest). And I though my Stinger GT Limited was a bit expensive ? Sure, compared to a Mercedes S-Class costing $145K (+tax) it might be a great bargain, but no one having the cash for a Mercedes would even consider a Genesis, no matter how good it actually is. BTW, I'm curious, what happens to the included maintenance and valet services if you keep the G90 for more than 5 years ? Do you actually have to physically go to a Hyundai dealership to have the car maintained, like the rest of us peasants ? lol ! Still a very nice review, thanks for sharing !
I’m a fan of Genesis products, though they should have upgraded the gauge cluster to a fully digital screen like they’re already employing on Hyundai product. The infotainment screen underlying GUI works well, though it’s the same as on Hyundai and soon to be released KIA products. Genesis is a luxury brand and it should be reflected in these low cost software upgrades exclusively for Genesis. As for the seats, this is an executive car and should include drivers side massaging seats. Lastly, the V8 is the same one they’ve been using on the G80 and G90 for years. It’s time to make some changes to up the mpg’s and offer more horsepower, along with torque at least matching the horsepower. Yes, these may seem like minor issues, though outside of the exterior design, this isn’t a huge upgrade over the previous generation.
I considered this as my next car but it wasn't available in the US a couple of months ago when my decision had to be made, so I couldn't get a real up close view. From online pics I saw at the time the wheels seemed to be a non starter. In the end I just couldn't forgive [the wheels and] the absence of a digital instrument cluster. When you're asking above 70K there can be no excuses. You're either luxury level or you'er not, and that includes the dealership experience, something Hyundai seriously needs to improve. Too bad as Hyundai [Genesis] does some things very well, such as intuitive system controls.
Brian, the last luxury review I remember you gushing about with luxury love, was the Benz S550 2 door convertible. You, Chris Harris and only a few others, test luxury cars primarily smooth, quiet and comfort. Genesis hired away the body and interior chiefs from Bentley a couple years ago. I hope they come out with the two-door version, because most people drive themselves and rarely need big backseats on a regular basis. You can see better out of an SUV because you’re high up, other than that, if you want a comfortable trip, you have to buy a big luxury sleds!
There is a certain “je ne sais quoi” about driving this car. That explains how I feel about this car. I bought a 2016 this year and I absolutely love the car. I will only trade this car for a Bentley, an Audi A8, or Mercedes Benz S550. But I won’t because I love the “Apple CarPlay” feature that these other brands refuse to integrate into their cars because they’re promoting their own infotainment systems. My only concern with Genesis is that it seems that they have done away with the panoramic sunroof, which I love in mine. The new ones don’t seem to have it, even the 2020 G70 being reviewed here doesn’t hVe one. It’s a dilemma for me. But I’ll continue enjoying mine until it’s time to upgrade. I highly recommend this car. I didn’t break the bank either. I paid $30k for mine.
Luxury Definition: the state of great comfort and extravagant living. I’d rather have this in a house than a 70,000 car as I live in my house while my car sits in the garage. I’d say this car is an Extravagance. Definition: lack of restraint in spending money or use of resources.
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work lol it's on my wishlist for the holidays 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
Iggi Valencia That’s because Genesis is a true rwd platform based awd. Unlike most Audi quattros, which are fwd based platforms usually shared with vw.
Great car but I'm not sure about its exterior design though...it looks fat, and I'll go for cadi ct6 just for now... looking forward for sleek look of 2020 g80😎 thanks for the review!
On my 2011 Sonata. Of course paid for because they sell cars for the average folks like us who don’t want to make payments forever and can pay cash due to the affordability. lol My next car is a Genesis G70 then a Stinger GT. This is also a gorgeous car :)
You buy Genesis from a Dealership, not directly from Hyundai. They just do not have a showroom like any other. Those sales person who bring you the car are from a Hyundai dealership.
I love it Hyundai and kia have come so far in the last 10yrs. I just cant afford these new car prices. Maybe when this one is 4 or 5 years old I could buy it outright since I dont finance nothing. My 2006 lexus is250 will do for now. I was wondering is the g70 and a g90 with the v6 option the same car or is the car itself actually different?
most of south Korea rich peoples are love and use it Genesis. but most of BMW, Benz owner are swindler or small businessman or gangsters in Korea. Genesis never discount but BMW and Benz normally does starting from 10%

I’m starting to love these G-Nightys. Lol!!
Gorgeous!
Kudos for the wheels. Impressive.
Today Genesis GV80 SUV released
Yes it’s so nice.
Fantastic luxury car at a great bargain
get outta here! That smart seat option. very cool.
Luxury Definition: the state of great comfort and extravagant living. I’d rather have this in a house than a 70,000 car as I live in my house while my car sits in the garage. I’d say this car is an Extravagance. Definition: lack of restraint in spending money or use of resources.
The sides are the problem, the front and that interior are beautiful!
Loving this one thanks for sharing very important information giving thanks blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work lol it's on my wishlist for the holidays 🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💪💪💪
It even has a huge superman grille.
Looking forward to see that Hyundai will bring the Genesis luxury SUV's in the near future .
It’s coming really soon.
I can't hardly wait ! YES ...
The Equus lives on!
Brian - great work, as usual. Any thoughts on the upcoming GV80 for us here in Canada?
I’m really looking forward to the GV80 and especially the GV70. Hope to get one to test soon. None on the West coast yet though.
The H-Trac does not switch power from the front to the back. It's the other way around.... from the rear to the front.
Iggi Valencia That’s because Genesis is a true rwd platform based awd. Unlike most Audi quattros, which are fwd based platforms usually shared with vw.
Genesis is awesome! I'd sure like to have a G90, this is my style, big, rear wheel drive and V8 powered, what more could you want?
Unfortunately, this is out of my price range. I will be taking a look at the new G80 though when it comes out 👀.
The G80 is Amazing aswell.
I dont know which one I would choose...
Not on Merc or Bimmer level yet but on par with Lexus. Absolutely above Acura and Infiniti. Design definitely needs some originality.
TheMichaelRN Acura and Infiniti sedans are falling in abyss. Honda and Nissan are slacking off on redesign and refresh.
Definition of luxury changes as the times change.
Great car but I'm not sure about its exterior design though...it looks fat, and I'll go for cadi ct6 just for now... looking forward for sleek look of 2020 g80😎 thanks for the review!
I'm undecided. I don't know if I would want a k900 or this g90. I love them both.
Amazing car, I'd certainly choose it over the germans, were you driving in Surrey?!
On my 2011 Sonata. Of course paid for because they sell cars for the average folks like us who don’t want to make payments forever and can pay cash due to the affordability. lol
My next car is a Genesis G70 then a Stinger GT. This is also a gorgeous car :)
Damn I want one of these.
I really hope those wheels aren't the only option.
That front grill is ghastly!
Yeah I find that you either love it or hate it. Nothing in between. I happen to be on the like side😆
Fantastic review! 👍
Great review sir...👍👍👍
I really don’t like the grill but love everything else!!!!
Those intricate wheels would be nightmarish to keep clean. Maybe the chauffer could handle that chore...
The numberplate should be installed alfa style.
I love the wheels.
Ok .. so, if someone was generous enough to offer you this car or the Kia K900 as a gift, your choice, which would you pick?
most of south Korea rich peoples are love and use it Genesis. but most of BMW, Benz owner are swindler or small businessman or gangsters in Korea. Genesis never discount but BMW and Benz normally does starting from 10%
If these had a merc badge everyone would be losing their shit saying how awesome it is
