Yes! My Dad and me are also obsessed with aubergine (what we call eggplant in the U.K). There is an amazing authentic Italian restaurant near my house so we have pizza with chargrilled aubergine and courgettes when he visits....It's delicious.

I'm in Rome, that is near Naples. Here you gotta pay 10e a Kg to get the real mozzarella from naples, only in the best shops. All the othe ones are not realmozzarella, except for some areas in Puglia, deep south, that have great mozzarella, but it's made with cow milk, not buffalo milk
Mozzarella is mozzarella even when is cow milk. They are two different products and the fiordilatte one is actually the real mozzarella for pizza, because the less liquid. Of course Napoli (not only Napoli, a vast area in the South - actually) does the best artisanal mozzarella. But also the ones we can find at supermarkets. Even Grana Padano is kinda 'not-real-Parmigiano-Reggiano', but it doesn't mean is not the same kind of cheese and is not good, although it's cheaper. @@adofonconi9753

Like if you get hurt (falling on the ground or other), the locals even without speaking your language, will try to help you. But like the others said, the streets are absolute garbage. A lot of potholes, random trash on the ground that no one picks up, and a good amount of house's are slowly falling apart. But If you leave the Urban areas, and go to the more Rural areas, you wouldn't want to leave for how beautiful the scenery is lol. Basically: Enogastronomy=Amazing, Society=Lovely, Infrastructure=Bad, Scenery=Beautiful.

Napoli is splitted among 50% in what you described (due to poverty) and 50% in the complete opposite, with historical buildings, museums, perfect landscapes and totally clean streets. Maybe you didnt have a proper guide, as a neapolitan i always suggest tourists to have a guide that shows you the second 50% part i mentioned. We only have extremes here, from perfection in food, history and landscapes, to total rubbish places, we surely don't like average things :P

I am vegetarian meaning anything except vegetables and milk product is absolutely not consumed by me ( I don’t even drink in fine bone china cups ) and I absolutely can consume any form of alcohol. Can I still think of staying in Italy ? Dear Emily Caroline. I hear you on this. My family is from Italy and 18 years of their cooking gave me IBS and gluten problems. Italian food always sends me to the hospital. My boyfriend is from Sweden.and taught me Swedish cooking which is much easier to digest and tastes good. Try it. Many good recipes online and U Tube
Don't worry about your trip to the UK. I have been there twice. As long as I avoided all flour products, dairy products, I didn't have a problem. To avoid digestive problems, I usually had a couple of cups of black coffee in the morning and didn't eat anything solid until dinner, I didn't have a problem
I take anti spasmodic tablets and can eat all these wonderful things in moderation. In the UK you can get these over the counter at a pharmacist, mine are on prescription.

If you haven't been to Italy ever you have to go at least once in your life I'm glad I went when I was younger because you need a lot of energy to walk around because there is so much to see and eat. 🙏💞
