Wow guys, I didn't know you had family in my hometown and yes, our tides are ridiculous here in Savannah. Thanks for the info guys and Luke, listening to your bullet points, I can remember watching all of your videos with you testing line strength and knots which were all very informative.
I bought a spool of fluoro once and didn't like how stiff it was. And after seeing your videos with the tests I just use mono, 20 lb Trilene Big Game in green has been catching me a bunch of redfish and trout around the Chesapeake. It was fine for flounder too in the summer. We have ribbon fish and other toothy fish so I don't go lighter than 20 but right now 12 would be okay because the ribbons are gone. I don't bother with live bait much because I don't want to kill all those little critters and it's a hassle compared to soft plastics or other lures. It's not unusual to outfish everyone that's using bait.
I back my spools 60/40 mono/braid. I just use mono tied directly on to braid as a leader now. I was a victim of using fluorocarbon leaders only, specifically on that lie that it was invisible and stronger lol Occasionally instead of a splitshot I use a sliding weight with a swivel for sheepshead or snapper
The rods is were it's at lol. I've dailed in on certain rods and the reels I buy are pricey but I love Florida Fishing Products reels. I'm also very big on small company in-state companies which I love.
The only difference I have found in favor of fluorocarbon is it sinks. I don’t need to put a split shot on it to get a live bait down fast before the birds get it when live lining and it is not significant. I have caught everything on Berkley Triline Big Game and the line has never broke unless it was chewed off.
I'm sorry but I'm not very confident in using artificial lures for catching fish, because like before I keep getting skunked. I'm also still having a hard time finding in the so called 90/10 zones. I also fish Choctawhatchee Bay close to Eglin AFB which adds to the problem. Please help me
Try topwaters. Aggressive fish like jacks and ladyfish will crush topwaters. So don't get worried about not catching snook, reds or trout when first learning. Topwaters are visual so you get a better feel for how fish react. You can also cast them pretty far allowing you to cover more water. Also start fishing early in the morning like when its still dark out this way you are in position during that prime low-light AM bite. I often catch most of my fish within the first hour of the day so being just 30 mins late cuts your chances in half.
Have you tried using weedless spoons or soft plastic paddletail jigs yet? If not, give them a try. Pick one, tie it on, and only fish with that all day long. Cover water, don’t stay in one spot unless you’re getting bites. Keep moving, cast as far as you can, and just reel back at a medium speed. Good luck!
Great intel above - go with paddletail lures and start with a straight retrieve. Mix in some twitches and pauses until the fish tell you want they want to eat

Cramy uggly stick. I bet right now across america fishermen are breaking uggly sticks with their car doors to later blame an accident to convince wife he needs a new rod😂

Good info!
I figured the whole mono fluorocarbon things myself. In Australia I use Platypus Pretest or Schneider. Lower tech but tough.
I don't recognize those names. They might not be available in the States. Or maybe by special order.
@@comfortablynumb9342 Both are older style tough thicker mono but they take a lot more punishment. I would think Ande would make something similar.
@@davidlove7825 Before I switched to braided lines I used Ande mono for years, it's good line.

I love ugly stick gx2s. I use 8 pound line on a ultra light and feel everything when I’m flounder fishing
Good stuff!
Hey alright! I miss these video pod casts!
We're mixing them in here and there!
Great topics today
Thanks!

I hope this helps get the skunk off my boat and onto the fish.
It will!
Can we make a video on what you track when you go out for fishing, so we can make adjustments to our fishing game and or make it a course?
Great idea!

I got a lie that eating Bananas while fishing causes bad luck!
Not if you are fishing from the bank though, only when on a boat. That is crazy but lots of folks believe this. 😂
It's true...
Want to join so bad 😊
