Butcher Knife Restoration into 'One of a kind'
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 лис 2020
- This is my customization of an old butchers knife. It was my first time taking apart and working with a knife and I found the hardened steel was very difficult to work with. I now have so much respect for knife makers as it is not an easy craft! Lots of mistakes were made, but I learned a lot in the process! I look forward to restoring more knifes.
Much Love,
Dr Restoration

Wow that restoration was awesome! Keep it up man and u could turn this channel into something truly amazing!
Thank you for your kind words! More to come!
@@DrRestoration oh and another thing is that i really like how u dont show the end product in the thumbnails. Just for me personally it kinda ruins the video when I already know what it looks like. So good job and keep it up!
I have been a butcher for 36 yrs and I love good blades. I've seen old knives like that used as skinning knives. Beautiful work.
Ngl the knife looks way cooler now ^^

Thank you ma’am!

An interesting project! In the original, it looks like a large skinning knife, possibly one that began its life as an old cavalry saber, and later became a butcher/skinner (based on the curvature, which is much more pronounced than I have typically seen, the lack of any maker's mark, and the simplicity of the tang). I try to offer constructive feedback for those I watch. I noted your use of electrolysis for rust removal, and had a couple of thoughts. First, it may be helpful to clean the black off while the piece is still wet, it tends to be a lot more difficult once dried. Second, using multiple anodes may be helpful on some projects. Thank you for the feedback! I’m
a strong believer in jumping in head first and learning to do things by DOING them, it’s the best way even though mistakes are often made.😅 This knife was truly very difficult for me as the blade was very hardened.
Yo loved it cool knife and the Song. What is the name of the song??
I will check and get back to you!

@@DrRestoration ok thanks 😊
это нож четников, его не надо чистить, я храню его под порогом от проникновения духов злобы.
I thought you were Dr Restoration not Dr Recreation. I swear that butcher's knife was better off without you bro! Literally butchered the butcher's knife. 😂 I do like your videos though but I don't know about this one ✌️
One of my firsts, gotta start somewhere right?? 😂
🦍
New handle is awkward.
Restoration? More like alteration.
That’s definitely butchered
This knife was bugly when you got it.
Bugly = Butt Ugly
It became fugly when you restored it.
Fugly = F***ing Ugly
The tang was already too short & you shortened it even more? Not good. I'm a fan of full tang knives.
