Woah...I thought that I had my ride pimped out (pardon the expression). I had never seen the radar or the side lights before. Looks like you are striving to stay alive while bicycle commuting as much as me!
We have quite a few fatalities here in SF bay area for cyclists and pedestrians. I definitely want to minimize my risk as much as possible when I'm out. Cheers to many happy rides and happy camping trips!
Nice to be able to add so many things since it's not your primary bike. Cool assesories, I don't think I would need so many things because traveling with the bike means most stuff I have to worry about. I like to keep my bikes as simple as possble. But nice ideas here of things to add.
It does become a bit of a bother removing it all if I have to park somewhere. So for this bike, being that I fold it easily and a lot, I just roll it in or fold it up and bring it in when I can. Most places I go to don't have any issue seeing how small it is when folded. When I do lock up, the main things I remove are the phone, Garmin computer and lights attached to garmin computer, and the Radar lights. I don't park it an extended period of time by itself, ever. I'm just way too paranoid. Oh, and then I'd also carry a D1000 go.mikemu.com/d1000 as well as a lightweight Saf lock.
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I sent back the peakdesign outfront bar mount, bought instead the PD umiversal bar mount, much lighter, instantly installed or removed, ideal with the additional transversal bar you have. I have it on all my bikes.
I also use the PD universal bar mount - on my road bike and also for moving from bike to bike. You got me thinking that I should also try this on my Brommie to see how I like it, especially since I don't usually park and lock it up outside.
I replaced the Brompton rear rack on my M6R with the Nitto stainless steel tubular rear rack. These are available through Clever Cycles. It is a stronger rack and just as lightweight as the OEM rack.
Looks great. To me the rear rack just adds weight - much prefer the front bags. The grab handle would get in the way, my old legs would struggle bypassing it :( Thanks for sharing.
0:48 where did you buy the sidelight? looks really light and very premium brompton in comparison to mine. I clicked the links in your description but didn''t work. thanks for your sharing
Sorry about that. I had a hard time finding those lights for a while. Maybe it was a supply chain issue. Those are Blackburn Grid Side lights: go.mikemu.com/bbgridside (I have updated the links in description to include).
Great looking bike! And great video(s!) - a few questions for you: 1. Did you remove the stock of Brompton electric carrier block or did you remove a switch kit? 2. I have the same peak mount. I wonder if it will fit I see the way you have it around the gun handles and now I think that’ll work well is that still working well for you? 3. This is a six speed one you bought from REI.? I saw another video where you had the switch Kit thought that might be a really good option versus a Brompton electric because you can fly with the smaller batteries so I have electric available wherever you are around the world
1. I removed the switch kit. I did a video about it on my main channel before I created this one. At the time, they didn't have the Brompton mount available yet and I had to remind them to send it to me much later. I decided that I'd prefer using the Brompton block for luggage. ua-cam.com/video/RyTCLz6OdOg/v-deo.htmlsi=SgMRZmFO8QFV7tEu 2. Yes, it fits fine. I have it adjusted just right so that it folds and doesn't interfere with anything. But I may switch to their bar mount. 3. Yes, this is the one I bought from REI and added Swytch kit. And yes, that was my video - also linked it up there. And you're right, I got it for the reason that the AIR batteries I can also fly with. I was traveling with my brother on plane and train, and he didn't have the Swytch Air to use on his. I figured we should just both be on pedal power if we're traveling together. Plus I found that I didn't miss the electric assist much where I bike. I may put it back on next month -- and the throttle so that my wife will be more inclined to join me (she'll just cruise on the throttle).
@@theRide888 thanks for the reply, very helpful. I would love to see a detailed review of the switch kit on your Brompton once you get it back installed and flying with it with the air batteries or at least a discussion of that. I see you’ve posted great videos about REI sales - I’m new to them so good to see they have good sales on Bromptons - I got 31% off my first brompton, e-Bike 4 speed 😒 there for gear return policy, plus great discounts 5% extra rei cc bonus plus extra 10% early annual bonus (2nd comes this feb). We’ll see if they add a 12 speed e-bike or 12 speed C-line. I might end up returning this next September and installing a switch kit to the latter. Nice to have good options there I think I will be a happy customer for life , visiting their used closet, trading in my old gear I don’t use anymore, etc. Love the co-op philosophy there.
I knew that I wanted a rack when getting a Brompton. With EZ wheels, and my expanding extension setup, everything just comes together nicely for rolling around in public spaces. I have rarely used the rack for carrying items on top of it though because I would then have to remove the items to roll it around in folded dolly mode.
Cost and honestly I don't see any perceivable difference from my end and my riding weight. I got it because I saw other Bromptons with it and thought I'd try it. If I were to do this over again, I'd do so realizing it just looks cool - that's it. And that may matter a lot to people who like to customize.
I had a swytch kit on it which is OK for airplanes with the small Air battery. I do wish ARCC was readily available here stateside - I'd want to do a test and comparison with the Swytch.
@@theRide888i will have my P-Line state side in a few months you are welcome to have a go when they arrive. I had a switch before I can say Night and day different. ARCC will eventually be available outside of their island the question is when....

Would you say having a rear rack is better than not having one, particularly with easy wheels? Thinking about adding one to mine.
@@theRide888 cool thanks for the info
Check out a Mini Q Rack as a lightweight alternative to the heavy brompton rack
She's Groovy
Kind of wondering why Brompton doesn't do the spring assist by default. Maybe they're less reliable over time?

Now all you need to do is take it to ARCC so you can take it in an airplane and keep it electronic!!
I had a swytch kit on it which is OK for airplanes with the small Air battery. I do wish ARCC was readily available here stateside - I'd want to do a test and comparison with the Swytch.

Okey you pretty much put everythingbthe internet has on that bike 😅
blinking is not really helping. its just annoyance
As long as it gets attention and I don't die - that's the goal.
