    They really flooded it this year…. Chronicles was the sneakiest best product to buy in the past mainly because other sets did not feature some serie a teams. 2020 Merlin is still good but panini did a panini thing and featured matinelli among others as rookies in their 2021 products . Panini is ruining it imo. Peak example …. Having Ricardo Pepi as a rookie in their mosaic and prism sets. Total money grab. He already had a bowman mls rookie

    Soccer card market is being flooded. Topps and Panini making cards at same time is crazy. Who are buying these Hojlund cards at these prices?

      Soccer is still light years behind the amount of product the other major sports have. We all have to understand that to grow soccer cards means making more cards. You can't stay low print runs and grow exponentially so all the talk about how much is being printed is just getting old.

    I agree its going to be allot harder going forward. still 2 possible players i have noted to having only 1 premium rookie cards. Openda as far as i know is only in fifa select and then you have fofana in chronicles the chelsea striker who will go out on loan next season don't think he will appear in many others if any. Both strikers you never know what could happen if they start hot.

    Hey you should look into buying, lois openda and Michael olise they are great players and have relatively cheap cards

    I agree but I think in each sport theres a set that is viewed as THE set. For Serie A, its definitely 2022-23 select, I think those are the true rookies

    Hi there, loving the content! You mentioned the salah 2014 rookie there in the video and I was just wondering at what price point you'd view it as a profitable investment and what potential price you think it could go to? Lets say in a PSA 9 just for an example.

      I can’t really give that advice, I would say to look at the PSA Pops, which currently is only 5 for 2014 Salah Numbered Cards. I would say it has a much much much low market cap than virtually any modern rookie.

    Yeah I think its pretty darn similar now for sure.
    One major thing that hasnt changed though, that's Americans butchering European names 😉✌
    Honestly, maybe one idea to buy up rookie Topps Now cards from mid/late in the season (thus wont be in as many hobby sets) the more obscure the better, and hope that one of them becomes a Wirtz or something.

    First off before the bug there wasent a soccer market. You could buy soccer hobby boxes for a few dollars. Just like f1 it’s a fad. Collectors only care about baseball mainly, with football and basketball far behind. That’s how it was before and that’s how it will be going back when all this mess dies down.

    • @MA-ck4wu
      @MA-ck4wu 10 місяців тому

      You're probably right when it comes to the US. Football is the number 1 sport and is STILL losing out big time to baseball when it comes to sports cards. The same applies to basketball. The NBA is immensely popular but baseball cards are much more popular than basketball cards. All of that has to do with the history of baseball cards, of course.--- However, in Europe these cards may get more popular as it's the number 1 sport there by a longshot. I really hope so.

    • @MarioLuigi-vb3rp
      @MarioLuigi-vb3rp 10 місяців тому +1

      @@MA-ck4wu the problem is Europeans are fickle when it comes to cards. If the market was so strong there we as eBay sellers would make a killing with global sales. But the numbers don’t show that. The numbers show that Europe isn’t a big player and I don’t care what others may says they just aren’t paying hard money for cards. Americans have some of the most expendable income in the world so if you want to make money you have to rely on American dollars.

    Tel only had one rookie card last year. The hobby is still fun and there is still money to be made :)
    Your strategy is good, it’s just not viable anymore and it’s not the only way to play the game. Granted making the kind of profits you used to make will be a lot harder

  • @dsavagepdx

    • @SoccerCardsRC

      Yeah that what I was saying, but odds of buying into a new legend is tough play moving forward.
