    Your scope has migrated aft and is touching your rail. Mine did the same first time out. The last pellet in will fall out of the magazine upside down. It loads as you initially cock it and makes a distinct sound. Mine while cocking on the return move hung up 3-4 times. Not sure why yet but moving the magazine slightly freed it up. I have the .22 and have several clusters of shots in a 2 “ window at 20 yards. I have around 150 of RWS 14.4 g super dome through it. It was .22 long rifle sounds out of it initially but settled down. I did replace the scope rings with some higher quality ones just because I had them. All in all I am pleased with mine. I view the plastic stock as utility strength I don’t have to worry about getting nicked up. I like your channel and have watched a few. Regards from Texas,

      @@swift10falcon Thanks for the comment and info. 👍
      When I was editing the video I saw that too. The angle of the camera makes it look like the scope is touching. This reminded me to check it and I just looked and it is not touching. There is still a 1/2” of clearance.
      I’ve learned to listen for that click sound as the mag gets hung up from time to time. Today I shot it briefly at lunch and discovered the magazine lost most of its tension and wouldn’t self advance the last 5 rounds or so. I just finished taking it apart and reindexing the spring. Ridiculous!
      I wonder if the accuracy you got is all this gun is capable of? I didn’t think the groups OTSA showed were very good for a fixed barrel gun at 20 yds. I’ve got a hypothesis on why that is and hopefully can test it out tomorrow. If it turns out to be true I’ll send the gun back as the design is inherently flawed and will never be accurate. At least as accurate as I expect it should be at 20 yds. I’m not expecting the moon or stars but I’ve got numerous $60 dollars guns that are far more accurate than this gun has displayed so far. I just was expecting better accuracy for $150 with the fixed barrel configuration.
      I’ll keep testing and hopefully things will improve. Thanks for checking out my channel! 😀

  • @deberryfh

    Idea: switch scopes. I bought a Gamo breakbarrel several years ago. Reviewers got good results shooting it but mine spread pellets on the target just like you are getting shooting your Synergis. I blamed myself. I shot it some over the next three years but I did not like the gun. Long story short, as a last resort I switch the scope to a Hawke scope rated for breakbarrel rifles. Low-and-behold! It holds groups at twenty yards. Always clean the barrel first. It doesn't matter what new shooters do, only a clean barrel gives a realistic test of the gun.

    I got the 22 from tractor supply. I was also underwhelmed with the accuracy... Since the purpose of an underlever is better accuracy. I have found that the accuracy is better with sticking the pellet in the barrel and then popping the magazine back on top with nothing in it. It is a really tight fit jamming a pellet in that tiny slot but it is better than pellets hitting all over the place. Basically defeats the purpose of the magazine by adding it that way but I finally got some consistency. I have found the the jsb jumbo monster 25.39 grain gets decent groups by single loading. Plus you need more of a long, cylindrical pellet to slide it in that way easily. The JTS dead center 25.39 grain also is very good but has a few more flyers. So it won't load quickly but it does really pack a punch with those heavy pellets. Also it's quieter inserting the pellets in the barrel and popping the mag back on (empty)... Not sure why it's quieter but it is a little. I have accidentally dry fired this gun and it sounds like a 22! I would like to see a chrono on this gun because it has way more power than the other air guns I own. So, if i could buy a single loader mag that would align perfectly I think it would be decent gun. My conclusion is that most of the inaccuracy comes from that darn mag... Durable steel but doesn't align well with advancing round. Anyways thank you for the review!

    • @airgunsofalaska
      @airgunsofalaska  2 місяці тому +1

      @@JohnTripp-d3x I had a lot of difficulty loading pellets by hand and not having them get slightly cockeyed in the breech while doing it. It isn’t practical to load the gun that way and defeats the whole concept of a repeater. I already sent my gun back for a refund. I’m a little miffed that OTSA gave it such a glowing review as that’s what pushed me over the edge to buy it. While it could be the QC is so bad on these guns that he got a good one out of luck and mine was a piece of trash or maybe the .22 is more accurate than the .177?
      In any case I’m more mad at myself for buying the dumb thing as OTSA’s groups weren’t very good and when you measure a group using your thumb… well, I should have taken that as a red flag. The splatter burst targets he uses also make groups look tighter than they are. They show up great of video but aren’t good for showing precision.

    • @JohnTripp-d3x
      @JohnTripp-d3x 2 місяці тому +1

      Wise to return it! I also thought the review was promising but I am after accuracy not so much for plinking steel. For that it would be great because it would load fast and the under lever action is fun. I decided to "pull the trigger" on it as well. Partially from that review and because I wanted an underlever. I should have waited longer because your review would have made me change my mind. Tractor supply said no returns on air rifles. Anyways at least it hits hard. I also agree that standard diabolo pellets don't fit well when loading them in the breech but it did improve accuracy. The more expensive/barrel shaped monsters slide in ok. Albeit not as easy as a break barrel and not as accurate :-) So it's basically a dud. I may try that other Chinese under level down the road

    • @airgunsofalaska
      @airgunsofalaska  2 місяці тому

      @@JohnTripp-d3x Dang! Thats a bummer Tractor Supply wouldn’t take a return. I suspect Umarex’s warranty is garbage and not even worth pursuing.
      Had I been able to see how the magazine interfaced with the breech and air port I wouldn’t even have considered ordering it. My gut knew better than I did! I was so close to cancelling the 2nd order I’d placed when it was just sitting there for days waiting to ship. That was a sign I didn’t need it. 🤦‍♂️
      It’s too bad it wasn’t like a gen 1 Gamo swarm break barrel where you can remove the autoloading mechanism. I’d have been more inclined to keep it had it offered that option. But at the end of the day I can’t say I’ve even missed it a little bit.

      I’ll try the other magazine and see what happens. Dang. Now that you got me thinking about how this gun functions, I don’t think I want to keep it. It’ll eventually wear and get out of alignment with use over time.
