- The new Deluxe GI Joe Classified is one of their biggest figures yet in Hasbro's GI Joe Classified line, but can it compete with the original?

I didn't have Scrap Iron as a kid but I had so many Joes from the 80's to early 90's that I loved and played with so much they look like yours. Missing their thumbs, and crotches, but I was able to keep them in decent shape for the most part. I got older, married, and moved away while my parents took my collection and auctioned them off. It was sad to hear them go, but with the Classified line, I relive my childhood, and they are so much better. Details, articulation, and accessories the only thing missing are the great vehicles and the prices that we used to pay. The hardest part is telling my young kids that these are Daddy's toys.
I let my kids play with them, but then get all riled up when they lose a weapon or accessory. My daughter (named Scarlett, btw) took Destro's pimp medallion off to give to Barbie and now I can't find it.
I feel that Scrap Irin in the classified series never get enough love
The classified line is like the perfect toyline.... the first wave may have been a little rough, but every figure since then has really captured that "thing" that a real American hero had. It's been fun picking these up.
As a kid Scrap Iron was far from one of my favorites, I have definitely come to appreciate him over time. And this Scrap Iron does the character justice.
this was the era when you would get really cool accessories with each Joe. Scrap Iron was great.
Yes, I think Scrap-Iron was from the best ever year of the line -- 84. Zartan, Storm Shadow, Baroness, Roadblock, Firefly, Spirit--All from that year
I remember going to a GI Joe convention and my friends and I shared our wish lists so everyone could look out for those figures. After sharing my list, I added that my Joes needed a "good crotch." Like your Scrap Iron, I had some damaged figures.
Yeah, the crotches don't fall off as much as the thumbs
Another reason why I love this channel. Excellent work and great review. Awesome 😎
Thanks. this is one of their best figures
enjoyed the review. I appreciate the comparison between new and old! thanks a bunch
Thanks!
I beg to differ! As scrap iron is my favorite Cobra character I would put him up there closer to the A-list but not necessarily at the A-list. He definitely didn't get that much air time like other characters but then again some would consider Firefly on the A-list and he probably got left I'm then scrap on your did. It all came down to their cool features and how cool they actually were for the most part
He's good, but he's never given a ton to do. But I had the same feeling that he was one of the best that should have been used more, so I get your affection for the character
I always thought Scrap-Iron was badass but for whatever reason as a kid I assumed he had black hair under his helmet hehehe. Classified figure looks awesome dude, I have to say it looks way better than the original. Great review.
6:02 I skipped Barbeque because he didn't come with an alternate head and I'm not ambitious enough to 'customize' using a head from another figure. If it ain't perfect, then I ain't buying it. Extra hands and heads should be standard for these $25 figures because the extras aren't much plastic, but they add a ton of customization. Fortunately, this Classified line of figures is generally excellent, just like the o ring Joes were in the 80s.
Right? 25 bucks is a lot for a little bit of plastic. One extra head wouldn't of hurt em.
Plus the face sculpts are often incredible (other than Falcon) so it would be great to get a good face sculpt for Barbecue or other characters that wear masks.
The ultimate would be a Snake Eyes with an alt disfigured head sculpt
Sub #22 here cool! Both scrap irons lookcoo,l the Classified one is spot on
Thanks!. Yes. the new one is one of their best.
@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal to me the 5 best figures are Major Bluud, Scrap Iron, Beachead, First Destro not retro and maybe Zartan or Spirit
@@dsanchez9703 Totally agree on the Major Bludd. That is the best sculpting I've seen. I think the retro package Gung ho is awesome
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal 👍 ok
Might want to look up the word "exactly".
Classified
Right? This thing is awesome.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal I love it I mean the 80’s figures were cool for kids - but the classified are amazing for adult collectors (minus falcons head)
