My self-care is my #1 priority. 8+ hrs sleep, daily exercise, daily stretching+yoga, and proper nutrition. Regular self-reflection. Growing plants. Playing w/ my dog.
Without caring for myself and my own needs, my bandwidth for helping others suffers.

Jeannie, I’ve never left a comment on UA-cam before. As a young girl I went through some trauma, my Nanny or Grandma was a hypnotherapist and our healing sessions were my first introduction to ASMR. This was when I was 7 years old! At 14, I moved to the other side of the world and I have not seen her since. I am now 25 years old. We were so close, and she can’t bare to hear the sound of my voice as it breaks her heart. It’s hard to not have contact with her, but you bring me the same peace she gave me. Although you are not her, you have the kind, soft, inspirational, brave heart and mind that she carried. I can’t thank you enough for your videos, they mean so much to me and I have loved watching your channel and passion grow! Many of us get too busy with LIFE itself taking care of others, that we forget to take better care of OURSELVES. It's OK to be a little SELFISH. TY for posting such an IMPORTANT subject. My wife, Michele recently found your channel and LOVES it. She has been taking care of so many people in her life, that she barely spends time on HERSELF. I was recently hospitalized and am now home recovering (with her and our little dog, Zora taking AWESOME care of me). :-)

I am taking your lead, and I am going to make a concerted effort to travel more. As a busy college student I find it so difficult to practice self-care, but I’ve started to drink chamomile tea before bed and meditating for at least five minutes daily-hopefully I’ll start prioritizing myself more this year 😅 happy birth month Jeannie!! 🎉
I like that idea with the tea as a start. You can add something more to the routine, something that is comforting but easy. Pretty soon, you’ll have a good routine. 💜💜💜💜

Hello, lovely Anke! I used to be the same way and it definitely caught up with me! I became super strict about respecting my bedtime. I told the kids not to phone me after 8:30 unless it was important. (They like long chats! And They know I will always answer.) But I treat my bedtime as a luxury now.
