Diesel glow plugs basically warm up the engine’s cylinder before the fuel is ignited. This will make it easier for the fuel to be ignited in the cylinder. To start a diesel engine successfully, it will need a special heating component called a diesel glow plug.

All right guys. Here's how I solved my glow-plug problem. I have an Audi a3 TDI, year 2011, 170,000 miles.
The glow-plug warning came on and I mentally prepared myself to do the job this man is doing in this video.
Instead, I used CataClean, a product I had previously used to clean my Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Cost is $28.00.
I followed the directions, emptying the contents in a quarter tank of fuel in my vehicle. Drove the vehicle at highway speed for twenty miles, then resumed normal driving.
Scotty Kilmer, UA-cam God, says the effect of products like CataClean actually occur when the vehicle is parked, so many short trips, in this case, are beneficial.
Within twenty miles, the glow-plug warning light no longer appeared. The light has not returned, even after 10,000 miles.
I also used CataClean for a "check engine warning light" that appeared on my display.
Probably the light was for a fuel sensor. Within a few minutes of driving after emptying the contents of CataClean into my fuel tank, that check engine light went away and has not returned in 15,000 miles.
Save yourself time and money and give the CataClean a try. Cheers!

Save yourself money and nto follow bullshit. CataClean will damage wet DPF and may others. Corossive chemistry is not a substitute for healthy fuel combustion.
