McDonald's McCafé - Madness (2017, UK)

An ad for McCafé which certainly has its intentions but really is one of the most insidious adverts I've ever seen. Takes a slam against hipster culture and overpriced, over-complicated coffee, and it's not like it doesn't have truth to it, because it does (and it's especially an issue in this economy). The problem is, it's all to sell you on the idea that getting coffee cheap and easy from a corporate fast food empire that feeds war criminals and serves you corn syrup earns one much more satisfaction than supporting your local, independently run coffee house, and reads as MaccyD's trying to belittle smaller businesses. Look, I didn't take up this archiving profession to sell you stuff! Boycott McDonald's, pay the best café nearby a visit instead! Directed by Tony Barry at Knucklehead, once again featuring the grating voice of Dexter Fletcher.
