Green Mamba Snake Hooding (Dendroaspis angusticeps) •

- Found in the grasses of Tanzania is an Eastern Green Mamba snake who for a moment puffs its throat (aka hooding), before escaping for the forest. It was captured by video on the lower slopes* of Mt Meru, Tanzania.
Black mambas have been documented as hooding; Eastern Green Mambas (Dendroaspis angusticeps) have very few documented cases (at least that I could find in my research).

They are absolutely gorgeous, and so fast
Beautiful but probably dangerous hmmmm
And I know I’ve never seen one!
Yes, venomous, but rarely encounters humans as it is usually in trees (very unusually on the ground) and are shy. This hooding behavior is known in the Black Mamba but never recorded before in the Green Mamba.
Are you sure it's a hood as the neck appears to be stretched only when it lifts it's body above the ground and there is no frontal evidence of any green mamba spreading a hood
