This is kind of a weird process.
Having the left mono and right mono samples panned hard left and right is no different to just copying the stereo sample and assigning it on another pad.
To add punch, it depends on what your sample needs. Use an envelope to shape the second sample. If it doesn't pop, bring down the decay so the its mostly attack. If it's all snap and no body, do the opposite.
yeah I'd have to say If anything he just made it louder lol
Great tip, I use very similar technique with my mpc2000xl, but i never pan left or right i just stack them bit I do filter them: one kick i do like around 80 cycles, one around 25 -40, and the third I leave the full range. This way you also can achieve fat and full sounding kick. Good stuff.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Good Job on the tutorial Homie! I learned somethin new.. Thanks!
Glad to help. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for these tutorials man!
Awesome tip!
Same concept with the MPC 4K?
Thank you kindly. Can you do the same exact thing for a snare drum?
Bout to subscribe..much love, straight out of DC 💯
I'll have to try this but wouldn't you get phase cancellation since it's all the same frequency?
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Niiice ok ok. I was looking for something like this. I don't remember who exactly, but saw an interview where a well known producer said they also pan their kicks like this aaand add a 3rd kick in the middle. Never tried it but will soon to see what that sounds like also.
Your the man! Dope
cool video carnal.. i forgot all about this method on the MPC. PaZ !
that first drum sounds like papercut from linkin park haha
Yeah very thanks a lot i do this and is so phat my drums gonna punch in the face yeahhhh
Man u got a great intro
Tell me do you use this method to the sample , the snares or the highhats. It works wonders. thanks.
I use this method on any sample that I think could use some more crank to it.
I use it for all the drums if i feel the need more fullness/depth. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
That was a good tutorial. Is there any way to save that new "phatter kick" as one sample?
I'll make a new video to address that. I appreciate you watching and thanks for the question. Please subscribe so you don't miss any new videos.
+The AIM Society Fasho!
resample I guess?
Why bro look like benny the butcher
alright I have the mpc2000xl what exactly do I need to be able to hear my mpc ik I need cables, speakers obviously but is there anything else I need??
If you have speakers/headphones that is all you need to hear your MPC if you already have samples loaded into it. If you don't have any samples in it yet, you need an input (turntable rca to 1/4", aux cord to 1/4", etc.) into the "Record In" on the backside of the MPC to get some samples into the MPC then you just need the headphones or speakers to play the samples back.
Can you single out a s d r ....and then layer them?
Can you do a video on sequences ?
Anything you want to see about sequences specifically?
Lol😂
