Bob is making a strong and erroneous generalisation here at 1:35 when he says “existentialists reject any form of afterlife.” Kierkegaard differed from Nietzsche on this matter and was just as much a theologian as philosopher. This strong split is echoed in Victor Frankl in Man’s Search for Meaning and then in Martin Buber and Marcel Gabriel and Paul Tillich. Not all existentialists are atheist! This idea goes right back to the beginning too. Frankl in Mans Search for Meaning states, in line with biblical ideas, “that love is stronger than the grave” and quotes transpersonal or spiritual experiences of one of his fellow death camp inmates saying they heard the “I am here, I am here” voice. The etymology of Logotherapy is clear and the search for meaning can be assisted in Abrahamic religion
