From the video it appears Kitty is a well populated area of Guyana , i do agree the Government should clean up the bushy and abandoned properties, and levy the amount on the owners Tax bill, this is also a problem on my Island in the Eastern Caribbean. Once again big up to Guyana
    for overcoming the struggle.

I used to lived on Duncun and Middleton street literally across from Bel Air. It was nice to see Forbes building once again. See kitty brought back so much memories. I even saw my old gym on Alexander Street behind that old Cinema now church.

I very much like your videos. I knew myself growing up in Kitty at 140 Barr St, after which the family moved to 159 Alexander St, in a house over the Bata Shoe Store and opposite the Kitty Market. We then moved to 37 Sandy Babb St which was the second house on the left side as you turn the corner of Alexander St. We then moved to 83 Gordon St, a junction of Gordon and Lamaha Streets. After that we moved back to 140 Barr St. Kitty after which I moved to the USA to go to school. On returning in 1973, my wife and I lived with the family for a while in Charlotte St. before moving to Blairmont at the Sugar Estates. I must also mention that I went to school at St Winefrides RC School in Garnet St., Newtown. I am John Douglas.

Do you know the name of the Chinese Groceries at the corner of Barr & Alexander Streets? Those were very nice people. Every Saturday my mom used to drop off a list of groceries which she needs & they used to deliver the groceries in a carton box on a bicycle with a large tray in front. They were there before Quick Serve. Do you remember the two book stores in Kitty Market? In those days we had to buy text books.

Thanks for the tour. I was born and raised in Dowding St Kitty. As a young lad, I roamed the whole of Kitty.... the old movie house you mentioned was "Hollywood". The Kitty Market looks great now...... I left Guyana in 1985 and haven't seen it since. The place has developed tremendously. Nice to hear the old songs on your car radio "Hey, look what you have done, showing me the sun and now it's shining through, it's so nice to be with you....." brought tears to my eyes. Good to know that those old songs are still being played. The original was by the Monkees and this version is by Boris Gardner. Cheers from Omemee, Ontario, Canada.

Tennis rolls, salara, buns, mauby & Pine drink! Joe Taylor used to hang out with Shoe Repair man on the corner of Shell Road. Billy’s Beer Store just b4 the Police Station and the Hamids (2 brothers - Eddie the fiberglass factory and Mackie the PPP Nací? labor Guy) opposite the P Station. Eddie made the fiberglass sinks and even canoes etc. anyone remembers the butcher Mr Charles from inside the market, Arron’s grocery, The Manraj’s, The Rohomans, Sheila’s cloth store (1st Market entrance on Alexander St) opposite Aaron’s? Etc etc. The Muslim boys’ orphanage was on the opposite side of Hollywood cinema. Uncle Harry’s cake shop next door to Hollywood….. Cecil Persaud the Mayor lived above the Bata Shoe Store. I've lived in Kitty at Station St. and Sandy Babb St. so it was with emotional reminiscence that I enjoyed YOUR video showing so much of my "old roaming ground". Note on the cinema in Kitty back in the day; the name was Hollywood and I watched a lot of one o'clock afternoon sessions with two films there. Westerns and Elvis Presley were the top picks at the time. Thanks for the video and keep enjoying your journey.

50 years away from my beloved Kitty, where I lived for 22 years on Pike Street, two houses down from Alexander Street, now totally unrecognizable, with seemingly more neglect as to the upkeep of the landscape, and such contrast with some wonderful houses intermixed with dilapidated ones. Sad to see what has become of the area in general. As for other regions of the Country, the extravagance is intoxicating. Hope the oil money will bring more prosperity to everyone, and help rebuild all that needs rebuilding.

@@sandrawilliams8116 … I knew the Burnham’s house well at the corner of Pike Street and Vlissengen Rd. Used to go their as a child, but cannot remember ever seeing Forbes. Perhaps he was away in England studying law. Now from what I can see on Google Earth, the house is no longer there and the lot is overtaken with bush and weeds. A fitting token to a Marxist scoundrel who absconded with hundreds of millions of dollars as President to enrich himself and family at the expense of the Guyanese people. His sufferings, leading up to the end of his life, was his earthly retribution.

Thanks for the videos. I’ve noticed clarity in this video. Did you update your camera? Btw keep up the good work. I subscribed and shared your UA-cam site with my family and friends. I think I came across your site about 3 weeks ago and got hooked 😊👍. I’m from Norton Street wortmanville area. Left Guyana back in 1991 and have been back couple of times. I enjoy your cooking. I learned a few things so I will incorporate your cooking style in my kitchen lol. When you said cooking with love it brought back memories lol 😂. My ex wife I used to tell her she didn’t cook the food with love anymore and was surprised to hear you use those words about cooking with love. And you’re right for the food to taste good you have to cook it with love. So this is Trevor from Winchester VA saying keep up the good work my friend and looking forward to seeing your videos when you upload them. Again thanks for taking the time to share these nice nice videos with abee these 😊👍.

Trevor Lynch thanks for subscribing and sharing my wife is also a lynch like you her father is Eric Lynch from Suriname . I’m not sure if you guys are related. Yes if you don’t cook with love then the food wouldn’t taste great. Try cooking when you are angry and tell me how the food taste. I’m using a iPhone X to video what I did was changing my camera settings from 30 frames per second to 60 frames per second

ITS OUR LIFE -ARD I guess by changing the frame rate did the trick. I don’t have family or relatives in Suriname. But my uncle who’s now deceased name was Eric Lynch from Mahaica. And both my parents came from Mahaica. I’m sure angry food would taste horrible lol. Btw are you using a mono pod in your car? I’m amazed how you get to pan when you drive so we actually get to see other angles.

A prize video like this I would wish to download, but this video and others are in ADP format, and as such I cannot download and use it on my computer. I previously tried to set up for ADP videos but it did not work, So your video in ADP format is restrictive to some users. I am John Douglas.

Thanks for the video. The public area, grass/pavements are not being kept in a proper condition. This also seems to be a problem in some of the Caribbean islands. Maybe people should be encouraged to cut the grass in front of their homes and keep the place looking clean and attractive since the governments are not thinking of the esthetics of the place. I feel that people just ignore these areas. What is the sense having a nice painted house and the walls in front of it and the front area are dirty looking. It is not only Guyana that I have seen this. Look at all the garbage. Why aren''t they in bins for pick up. It is the same thing in some parts of Trinidad. It beats me. Kitty used to be such a well kept place decades ago. The place looks very neglected now. One thing I must say is that people have really built beautiful homes now. Lots of progress there. he government needs to hire people to cut all those tall grasses and bush down and have Georgetown looking better. I typed this before the end and it is good that you think like I do. It is time for all the governments to do something about the appearance of the city. It could be such a beautiful place. It also shows that people have lost that pride of how the place should look. I hope they put the oil money to good use. Now that I have seen some of your videos, I will try my best to include Guyana in my trip down south. I hope COVID goes in the next year so this is possible. Thanks again. Blessing to you and your family.
