The Flash Gordon movie was beyond amazing for me as a kid. Soundtrack, the costumes, all the guest stars. Its an amazing turn your brain off flick.
I remember loving that movie when I saw it in the theaters as a kid, but I've never seen it again and don't remember a darn thing that happens in that movie. Lol. Why do they never, ever show it on TV? All these years. Would love if Jen reacted to it just to remind me what in the world goes on in that movie! X)

Now that you've seen the references, it is time to do "FLASH GORDON!" And YES, Queen specifically did the song "Flash" for it.
Queen produced all the music on the entire soundtrack but it was mostly instrumental. If you havent seen the movie Highlander, that was the other movie they did the music for and there are some quality tracks on that one.

Seth McFarland is the creator of "Family Guy", and some of the people in this movie do some of the voices on "Family Guy". BTW: Queen did the soundtrack for the "Flash Gordon" movie.
"Ted" is also a love letter to Boston.
Of course, Mark Wahlberg was born and raised in Boston and much of the movie is shot on location. Shortly before the climatic scene at Fenway Park, Wahlberg gets into Mila Kunis' car on Massachusetts Avenue (which is known colloquially as Mass Ave) between Boylston Street and Huntington Avenue.
On a personal note, I saw Norah Jones perform in concert almost 10 years ago at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA with her alt.country group Puss 'n Boots. I stood all of 20 feet from her.
For the disco, I don't know if you were thinking of Saturday Night Fever or Airplane!
On Peacock, there's a Ted series. It's like a prequel where John is a teenager.

@@Christobanistanthere's no fair or good way to judge ratings for season 3 to be fair. Not only the about 2 year wait. But it also was never actually broadcast and was only available in the usa on hulu. The previous 2 seasons aired on the Fox Network.
Yes you should watch Cheers. I grew up watching it in the 80s/90s as a teenager. I bought the box-set a few years ago and watch it a lot. There's 11 seasons and a lot of episodes. I'm from the UK, but in my opinion, it's the funniest American sitcom in the history of time 😊

Jen, you probably know this already, but Mila Kunis (Laurie in Ted) is the voice actor for Meg (after the first season) of Family Guy, so Seth MacFarland has worked with her before. That is not the only Family Guy connection: Johnny's mom in Ted is the voice actor for Louis... and the friend/co-worker sounds a lot like the voice of Joe Swanson (the neighbor) 😁 Since you have started watching Star Trek, you might also like "The Orville"... also created by Seth MacFarland.
I think if you go into Flash Gordon expecting to watch the greatest high school play of all time then you’ll really enjoy it. It’s an absolute comic book fantasy, with some of the greatest sets and costumes ever (for the genre). And Queen’s music is just sublime in that movie.

Jen you should watch "The Perfect Storm". Stars George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg, and several other famous people. it's a good action like drama that you would really enjoy if you have never seen it on your own.

Nice, this was the only Seth McFarlane movie to be nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars.

Yeah but how long will that last? Lets be honest here, Seth had several shows already and they all suffered the same fate...a serious lack of ideas or just flat out lazy writing. It starts off all fine and good, by the 3rd season half of every episode is just one overly drawn out scene to try and take up as much time as possible to fulfill their contractual agreements.
@@PApro well I had to disagree with you on that because from what I just saw for the past couple weeks season one was actually pretty amazing the Show is now the number one Series on Peacock and it’s like 90% on rotten tomatoes I believe the show has been a massive success and from what I’ve been seeing so far nothing has it been awful or terrible as of late it’s not like every other sitcom or any other TV show or movie that turned into a show that has lazy writing they’ve been doing very great and if Seth ever run out of ideas the dude is a hidden gem if he runs out of ideas he will always figure out something new in his head that will stick into you for the test of time and he can always think of other ideas to always do something innovative and unique an interesting and funny and cool as hell so in my opinion I don’t think it’s going to be nothing like that for what you are saying I think for the next couple years this show will never lose its steam and it will probably never be a failure it’s going to keep on growing and growing until it’s going to be the longest episodic television in Peacock history like I swear to God we’re gonna get a season 10 if it’s ever that big and huge and it’ll keep getting more great as the show goes on so I don’t think it will get any lazy writing or be a shit show anytime soon because I was at right now they are making a lot of money everybody is loving it and watching it and Seth said he will do a season two if more people will watch the show once it continues to be even more successful so I’m here to say you’re wrong and your opinion doesn’t matter and I think the show it’s gonna go on forever
The single funniest aspect of Ted for me, whether it is the two movies or the recent TV series prequel is the way human beings respond to him. Nobody is at all frightened or even flustered by the sight and sound of a walking, talking Teddy bear speaking with a Boston accent. He is thought of as being just another ordinary human being.🤣

Jen, great reaction. Queen did the soundtrack for Flash Gordon (1980) and Highlander (1986). I highly recommend watching Highlander. It’s a great action fantasy movie. It’s got Sean Connery and Clancy Brown (who you saw in Shawshank Redemption as the captain of the prison guards, and is the voice of Mr Krabbs on SpongeBob).
I hope you do watch Ted 2. Because it is about Ted getting married. And it features some unbelievably hilarious jokes that match the jokes in this film.

Yes there is a Ted 2. Unfortunately Mila Kunis isn't in it because she was going through a pregnancy when this movie was filming, which really sucks. But it's still a fun movie. I think I do enjoy the first one more but the 2nd movie is still funny and worth the watch.

Wait.. Hold on a minute Jen... You know Cabbage patch kids and the first Nintendo? I never ask a lady how old they are (And not about to start now lol) But.. I honestly thought you were in your 20's... No joke! Well.. if you are older.. you look GREAT! Not trying to flirt or be weird.. just being truthful :) Actually.. I should have known.. you have too much of a good sense of humor to be in your 20's lmao! Anyways.. the 80's rocked!! :) BTW.. This is kinda random.. but wanted to say... I met Mark Wahlberg back in 1998 (I was 17) I met him at the Arizona State Fair. He was wearing a hoodie over his head (Trying to be incognito as much as possible) but I recognized him from a distance. So to make sure... I walked up to him (Noticing two huge security guards behind him.. trying to NOT act like security guards) lol.. I approached him.. and quietly asked if he was Mark Wahlberg... and he quietly said yes (I already knew it was him before that) Anyways... He asked me if I wanted to sit at a table and chat. (He already respected my approach and silence on who he was) ya know... if thousands of people knew it was him.. it's a problem! So.. we ended up hanging out for almost 4 hours.. playing games and having fun like best friends! Until finally... a group of young girls noticed him.. next thing you know... the 2 security guards had to swoop him up and get him out of there!! It was CRAZY!! Anyways.. sorry for the long story.. my point of it is to say... Mark Wahlberg is one of the nicest.... most down to earth people EVER!! He didn't have to hang out with me for 4 hours like best friends.. but he did... and I will NEVER forget that night!! 4 hours... oh the things we talked about and the bs back and forth! Great guy!!
Jen you should watch A Million Ways to Die in the West. Has a lot of good actors. Seth MacFarlane, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman and Giovanni Ribisi who plays Edward the crazy guy in Ted and Ted 2. A a little cameo you would laugh about
