  • After his landlord made the decision to sell the flat Colin, he ended up sleeping in a tent in a local park. Enforcement Officers from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council went to visit Colin and made contact with him and notified Council's Health and Wellbeing Team. They provided him with a Keep Warm pack funded by the Public Health Agency which included warm items of clothing. They then made contact with the PSNI Neighbourhood team, who got his consent to be part of the Multi-Agency Support Hub, which meant they were able to share information on him and look at how they could help get him out of the current situation he was in. Council then contacted the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to look at housing needs. The Housing Executive worked closely with the Support Hub to source Colin single-let, temporary accommodation in the local area. As a result he is now living in a healthy, warm, safe environment close to his family and workplace.
Colin - "The support has been absolutely fantastic. Not once have they let me down. The effort this team put in to get me to where I needed to be was just absolutely fantastic."
