    I just love watching Sam forget to be a voice teacher and completely fangirl. I just watched this performance for the first time last week so I'm so glad you did this. Confessions is one of my favorites. That man is still so talented.

    Usher blew me away with this performance. He made the room his, you know?
    There was no awkwardness, no one there woulda felt out of place, just as he felt comfortable. And then, he starts singing, and it's like the room stopped existing.

    To me you are the best voice teacher on UA-cam, because your way of explaining the biological side is so easy to understand, you are so good in explaining techniques and you are so passionate about it, you made me become from singing only to music that is loud enough even I could not hear me to developing the knowledge how to practice and improve. If I wasn’t always completely broke I’d totally take lessons with you, but I guess one lesson every other month is more of a waste of your time so I’m happy and grateful for your free lessons via your analytics.

    This is great. Usher brings back so many memories from my youth. I know it's not your usual thing to do a country artist, but I'd love for you to check out Tyler Childers. His voice is really unique!

    This reminds me a little bit of some of Hamilton. Very speech like in some instances, just floating over one or two notes while conveying a story through heavy lyricism. To add to the story telling bit Sam was talking about.

    Isn’t pop a subset of r&b

    • @SamJohnsonVoice
      @SamJohnsonVoice  2 роки тому +3

      Every type of popular music these days is heavily influenced by R&B and other genres founded by black people. I'd still probably put R&B as a subset of pop. Unfortunately "pop" is the easiest way for me to differentiate from western classical music most of the time.
