How much random stuff in his shop is still glued together that didn't make the cut? I reckon his son is still on the ceiling fan.
I reckon the only reason we don't see his wife is because she's on the other ceiling fan
Don't forget to add the thickness of the saw blade to your measurements.
+ 3"
With that much extra you need to take the rotation of the earth into account aswell 😂
@@mitchdenner9743 a 3" saw blade?
and account for glue flex by compensating in the wrist
@@jellyfinger he was probably allowing for the lenght of the tape reel :)
You missed an important one. Using a drill bit backwards CLOSES old holes we no longer need.
LOL
C'moooon ! The stapler trick is a fake ! How could it work without hot glue ?!
Ahhhh. That's what was making me uncomgfortable.
Makes sense
Yeah I think the others are true but the stapler trick I don't think so lol
No hot glue, no hack.
The blue sharpie provided the pilot hole for the massive drill bit.
My saw's weight is in kilograms and my measuring tape is in cm, where do I find metric hot glue for this hack?
Metric hot glue sold at Canadian Tire.
Ha Ha, STop Living In USA ! :D Thats The Hack Mate !
Copious use of Araldite or Tarzan's super grip here. LMFAO for real this time, no really, I literally lost my arse laughing
When in a pinch you can convert between the two, to go into metric, just soak the imperial stick in tea. to go the other way use Budweiser.
Only in Europe, good sir.
The magnifying glass killed me.
me too xD
If you tilt it does it change the audio from left to right?
Chris Higgs Yes, unless you tilt it forward and back, then it changes the pitch.. Les in UK
Those details are my favorite mark of a TOT video
Glad you got better.
Been using most of these for years. Thank you for bringing this to the wide audience, Tony. It's SHOCKING just how many people don't know about these SIMPLE tricks.
Velike tajne ex YU majstora su konacno otkrivene :))))
I knew it was BS when I saw him load the drill bit backwards into the stapler.
It was one of my favorite because I like the plausible factor, yet I was also disappointed. Yes it was a minor error to load the drill backwards, but I've made that mistake too so not a big deal. The disappointment was *expecting* the drill whir that didn't happen. All in all an excellent vid.
It wasn't fake and the drill bit isn't backwards. It's pulled at the shank into the stapler, so the buisinessend drillbit is pointing towards the sheets. Didn't u know?!
Mark Failla i knew it was bs when I read this comment
I knew it was BS when I saw the title of the movie.....just like his "How it's Made" flick...hilarious!!🙂
What do you mean it's b.s.?
You have someone looking after you, right?
Oh man, you really captured the essence of those "life hack" videos. You made me literally laugh out loud. Bravo good sir
The hammer trick
We call that the Tipton screw driver aint laughed that loud in years great watchin lol
From the UK brill
I cringe everytime I hear the word life hack.. since when did I become a hacker!?! Lol
That's exactly what I was thinking too lol. The hot glue is a necessity for any "life hack"
I love the one for making washers
I've seen quite a few April Fools videos today,
but this one is the best!
steve
Okay. I was sitting here watching this, completely oblivious to the joke and screaming at my monitor going "Hot GLUE!?!?!?!?!??!?!!!!".
How funny!
Steve
I was about to comment the same thing. Thats what id expect from ToT
You're the April Fool! All those are real hacks that work.
And of all the videos I've watched, this is one of them.
This video would be a whole lot funnier if I didn’t work with people who actually consider this train of thought as legitimate possibilities....
I didn't know you were working at same shop as me, as I have same people with same thinking!
It just reminds me of the video on how to add a headphone jack to an iPhone.....
"It's in there, you just have to make a hole yourself to get it to work....."
Well glueing the nails to the hammer does work.......not very useful but it does work
@@Mark-vn7et They also make hammers with magnets to do the same thing, so the people who really like that idea still need to put the hot glue gun down.
That's the point, it's a parody of all those retarded "tool hacks" videos with millions of views.
At first, I was skeptical that these were actual hacks.
Then the hot glue showed up.
Thanks, I just literally sprayed my whole table with my breakfast :(, took 30 mins to clean it all up. Went everywhere, my wall picture, monitor, keyboard, all over my other stuff that got in the way. I hope you're happy -_-.
I know of a lifehack that can help you to clean up th.."THWACK!"...
That's how you get a perfect square! Here I was setting my compass to 45 degrees and I kept coming out with equilateral triangles.
Surely you'd need to set your compass to 60 degrees for an equilateral triangle?

@@jimmystoba7899 They're using metric degrees.

Be careful tho, if you're working with a round plate, you could end up with a 3 sided square
Mate the emergency air iis an awesome idea. To think I just stored old jars empty. I think you'll see someone start selling the saw with tape measures. Have you tried an upside down drill bit for undrilling holes or storing hot glue in an old toothpaste tube for later use. These all remind me when we'd send the new guys to buy a box of spots for the spot welder.

I love how his April fools jokes are the same kind of stuff he puts in his normal videos
they are the same kind of stuff that people seriously consider USEFUL "lifehacks". I wish those people would die a horrible death
just a useful compilation
What?! More cheap parlor tricks from This Old Tony? - I want my money back! If I wanted nonsense BS I'd watch AVE!
This is worse than the time he removed the creation of the metric system from history!
I didn't even realize it was his April first video until I read your comment.
Captain Obvious to the rescue!!!!
Hold on. Did he just square a circle?
Amazing.
No he circled a square.
All those so called mathematicians never though to set their compass at a right-angle. Brilliant!
That's a very bad and useless advice, because if he glued a laser pointer instead of a sharpie, he would cut the square in one go.
Only Chuck Norris was known to do it - until now...
Yep! And no PIs were injured or divided in the process.
So far, 2,000 life hack youtubers have expressed their displeasure at your casual foray into their life's work.
I watched this then re-watched again with my 9 1/2 year old grandson. We talked about each "tip" and what was wrong with it. I was surprised he understood most of them. Very entertaining and educational! Thanks Tony.... Fred & Caleb
Your grandson is smarter than me haha
Same with my kid
I think the educational part was an unintentional consequence.
There is something wrong? You need to be more specific if you are going to criticize TOT.
You mean there was something wrong with some of the tips???
You are completely right, I won't believe these will save me time. Keep up the good work.
Add a spray nozzle to your air jar, then carefully add white and black paint. Do not agitate the paint. Then spray on any surface. The resulting checkerboard pattern will allow you to create a playable space anywhere you like. 😉
This video was very stupid. I approve wholeheartedly.
video title 100% correct

It's just that he can do it at speeds other than the normal 1x.

If only he would stop biting his nails. Time travelers don't bite their nails.

Good joke but obviously the warsher trick won't work.
You have to use black paint to make a hole in metal. Permanent marker works on paper, wood, plastic and people.
Thanks for the tip, I will give it a shot trying it on people
The levels of sarcasm on this video are over 9000
Over 9000?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
9001 with HOT GLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

How would we otherwise be able to live with our learning curve to failure ratio shortly after the initiation of our DIY carreers?

To be that skilled and intelligent while being so humorous and silly is a blessing.
Thanks for sharing what you do so well.
So far your sense of humour has been the only April Fools I've had the taste for this year. Nicely done!

There is nothing hot glue and ingenuity can't do .
Olha Pesterenan aqui
I thought that was gonna be a "fart sound maker".
@@alessandroceloria Actually those do exist, you can buy them for around $70 on Amazon. They use a set of capacitors to build the charge. You don't really need a big battery to start a car, you just need a lot of current really quickly. But in order to get that much from a battery, the battery needs to be big. Batteries will store more charge and for much longer than capacitors, hence cars use the battery.
You can also buy an all-capacitor jump starter that (seriously) uses your own battery to jump start the car. The battery is never completely dead unless it is damaged, so it can charge the capacitors for a minute or two. Then the capacitors can provide all that current to the starter motor within 1 or 2 seconds, providing the power that it needs.
And there are a few of the big battery packs that also have very small compressors, so they can (very slowly) top up your tires. But that requires a lot of power, so it's best to power that functionality from the car rather than the device's batteries. Those products are around $180.
Wile E Coyote just subscribed to this channel.
Meep meep!

Okay...please back away from the glue gun.
Happy April Fool's Tony! Your videos ALWAYS make me smile. THANKS!
ROFL, love the gratuitous overuse of hot glue, and the title is right: I _don't_ believe they will save me time. Painful to watch, but brilliant. Thanks Tony!
I can't believe I didn't think of using hot glue to hold the nails to the hammer! I've been nailing them to the end of the hammer to hold them in place. What a time saver!
I've been tacking them with the Tig.. :0(
I am not very proficient with TIG I have been using 7818 3/32

We need mythbusters for this. If you had the nail at the right angle and you glued it to a sledge would you be able to hammer in a nail or two with one swing or drop?
JB weld, the good stuff, but you can only nail one a day due to waiting 24 hours for a full strength cure or get more than one hammer.
The vfx when you did the rivet with the stapler is actually really impressive. Well done!
The editing made it actually convincing that he managed *not to* attach it to the workbench.
Unlike with the screw through the 2x4..

I just wish that the steel companies would figure out that if you add diet coke to the molten Iron ore, that steel would be fat free, and a lot lighter.
Hey ToT, I have watched 119 of your 146 youtube videos since i discovered this channel in November (yeah, i counted it.. and that even includes the tile cutting video). And i must say, i'm impressed by your skill set and your knowledge.
Even though i find machining super interesting, I have absolutely no experience. It would be super great if you could make a video on how to lathe, but dumb it down. Like just the basics, cutting a stock, take it down to size, make a simple bushing etc. How to start, what to think about, what to prep and what to have in mind.
Sorry if the grammar is wrong, i'm from Norway :P
This Old Tony is one of the best on UA-cam. Also brilliant are clickspring and doubleboost. They have lots of step by step machining videos.
I ain’t got no sperience at life stuff either. I was makin some warshers with that machinin tip and lost a nut and and my pinky picker. Don’t worry I gots extras. Must have been my fault tho cause I use low temp hot glue. Dat other chit is too hot. Thanks for the help. I’m so not right, and also from Norway. :b
jefrhi .....Hail to the master Jefrhi!
Try reading 'The Amateur's Lathe' by L.H. Sparey. Ignore the chapters on setting up a lathe for the present and cut to the chase. Although old the basics do not really change. It flew off the page for me.
Also blondihacks has a lathe basics series
totally fake. you need to use diet coke in your emergency high pressure air, otherwise it makes an emergency vacuum pump!
great video tony!
Irony in it's glorious form! The kind of humor the creators of those kinds of videos will never be able to understand. And you managed to get the overconfidence they have with hot glue as well. I salute thee!
Tried them all and they all worked!
I was also fired from my job :(
Hope the boss just pulled a April Fool's Day joke on me.

The 'warshers' one was the best for me. The hole made solely by a well placed sharpie dot should revolutionise the washer making process, lol. Quality stuff.
The perimeter marking hack didn't work so well till I realized I was using a metric protractor....switched to SAE and bingo, worked like a charm! Thanks T.O.T.!!!

The best thing, with rubbish memory like mine, is that for a minute I had totally forgotten about that 1st of April thingy!

Does UA-cam have an award for this category? I hereby nominate TOT!
I've actually used something like that hammer trick.
A long time ago, in a g- I used to do construction. We did several pole barns with steel siding and steel roofs. We modified a couple framing hammers with spikes to quickly punch pilot holes into the panels before running in the screws.

Those hacks were more useful than any other "life hacks" on UA-cam.
Abom discovered that adding a bit of cutting oil in the stapler keeps the rivets sharp.
As a bonus, they also never rust.
The one for the washers is brilliant!!! I'm going to try that tonight!! Well done my friend!
