Wow, I could've used this over the past 2 weeks! We're trying square foot gardening and companion planting this year. I did the string and garden stakes method to measure - lol. First, I measured all the beds and then made grids on my drawings to figure what could fit where. We only have maybe 1/4 acre to work with so square foot and vertical methods can squeeze out a lot more space. Personally, I like your mesh method better since it's easier to lay flat and lets you see through it. I might still string out the one foot rows since I can't make a straight line by eye-balling. My garden rows in the past have often looked like a drunken sailor did the planting 😂 Thank you!
I finally got one of those squares and after using it for like 5 minutes I wondered why I waited so long Edit: your home made versions are also very awesome and cheers for those, too
Home Grown Veg, Mr Jim show how he made some home made grids for his planting in buckets which were a big help. Long time ago Same as your homemade template. Great and economical savey. I'll stick with your cheaper idea. Loved that you shared a newer versions and always open for ideas. Tks 🤔😇
I have had a seeding square for few years now and love it. I make seed tape with cheap white paper towels for my carrots, radish, and beets using the seed square in the late winter. Works great.
Mind blowing!!! I have been wanting one of those for YEARS!!!! But didn’t want to spend the money. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and stay well. Catherine
I love your idea with the mesh template! It sits very close to the ground that way and you can see your seeds better. This is my second year with my seeding square, so anxious to use it again. Thank you Prepper Potpourri!
Love the square foot gardener- you can really maximize your planting. Have wanted one of those tools for a while, maybe I'll treat my self next time we have amazon points. FYI- Clyde's Garden Planner slide is also great for seed starting and succession plants spring & fall like $7- spend the extra $2 bucks & get the plastic covered one. There is also a Seed Dispenser Sower Seed Spreaders tool very handy for those tiny seeds like carrots or individual planting items like radishes. There are various hole size for different seeds- great too highly recommend. TY for the video- HAPPY GARDENING EVERYONE!
I love this idea. I might do this next year. We have a huge garden! I watch Freedom Homestead too. Man, they have made gardening so easy now a days. :) I just hope my garden grows this year. We need a good crop. Thanks for the video.

I practice circumference gardening. That’s 1 tomato plant per bucket, 1 pepper per bucket, 8 carrots per bucket, and I really push the limit with 6 sweet potato slips per Rubbermaid tote. Tree roots and shade prohibit an in-ground garden, and except for the Rubbermaids, I can move buckets to where the sun is shining at a moment’s notice. Right now that all takes place in the back yard. I would rather put them all in the front yard where sun and tree roots don’t pose a problem, but the HOA would frown on that, I’m told. I am ready to build a tiny house and move to the country where my indeterminate tomatos can roam free! All I need is a small plot of land, and I, too, could do square foot gardening and get a seeding square. I’m so ev
Oops. Started to say I am so envious, but the cat made me slip and hit the reply button. And all kidding aside, I really do want to move to a tiny house in the country. I’m tired of moving those buckets around!

I like your little homemade grid, that's just fine by me.
Love the sound of the crows in the background! 🦋🌷

Your way is a lot more less busy I think it will work better for me
Living traditions use these on their greenhouses and they've had great success with them.
I've been looking at this planting tool. it is a great idea.

Hi Prepper Potpourri! Total game changer for gardening, great tool. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!
I like the DIY version, thinking what I have around here that I could make one out of... no plastic canvas, but have the plastic cutting boards.
Just bought a seeding square….I love it works really well.
I was using Mel's Square Foot Gardening in the mid 80s.
I love your idea, wish I had seen it before buying the product you showed at the end.
Easy to make with google docs! Of note one corn per sq foot and they need at least three buddies!
How about a how to on the homemade grids and how you evenly spaced the holes.
I find plastic canvas at our local thrift store for 25 cents. Thanks for posting this great idea.
Wonderful!
Fantastic idea. I’m going to try it.
Wow that's great thanks so much I will never be the same🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Clever girl, learned something new today !!
I did the same thing. First year I had cardboard but that didn't work well. My mom came up with the mesh idea. Works great.
Your template will work well to have the kids help in the garden. Mine would seed every hole when I'm not looking with the other template.
I love this idea. I might do this next year. We have a huge garden! I watch Freedom Homestead too. Man, they have made gardening so easy now a days. :) I just hope my garden grows this year. We need a good crop. Thanks for the video.
I hope your garden flourishes
Thanks I’m not paying $30 your dyi method will suffice. Thanks again!

Xander often tries to "help" me when typing too
Neat idea!
Pretty spiffy ;-)
So I guess you could add holes to the canvas and attach it to a wood or metal frame.. Maybe colour the holes
I like your grids way better...
I like your diy device better.
