Thanks alot for teaching us how to use it! I am not musician or producer, only I want to buy this thing to start to make my own samples and some beats, and this is excellent to understand, because sometimes when I see other videos, only touch alot of things without explaining and make me feel that it is hard to use. You are the boss.
Son Wu, you've come up good again. thanks for the video. Just a couple of things.... 1) at 8:00, when you're recorded your sample, I don't know whether you noticed but the KO II truncates the early part of the sound automatically where there is no sound. 2) I sample a sound then copy and paste this to various pads, this gives me some flexibility when editing the pads, just a workflow choice.
Thanks! 1. I don't know, if I am understanding right…but when sampling, it always waits for the volume to exceed the threshold, so there is no silence in the beginning. 2. Yes, there are always various ways to go about this, depending on your needs :)
Great tutorial, just received the device and currently working my way through these videos. Please correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I am from another timeline but I could have sworn there was a feature to connect the ko-ii to the PC and load pre made samples directly to the ko-ii's memory rather than manually recording them using line in. I hope this makes sense.
great tutorials!! we love the work you do! my question is, when ever i sample a sound it seems like it saves over a factory sample. is there a way to go around that? i dont want to loose those factory sounds. thank you!!!!
all 999 sound banks are filled by factory samples by default. the only way to fit in another sample is to overwrite one of them. there are no extra/separate banks for custom samples. hope that answers your question
Hey I was just looking for some help, whenever I try to record over a sample it stops recording after 1.32 seconds and says ( FUL ) I was wondering what to do ?
Hi! Is there a way to start the recording of a sample without holding the pad? With a stereo input, can i switch to internal mic and external source before the recording? Thanks
Do you have to do this in an empty project so it doesn't mess with what you were making or does going into sample mode make it sit outside of the projects?
quick question, I made a crazy beat on the ko2 yesterday and it was by experimenting.. I sampled into the ko2 and I assigned (time button 9) to the sample and it gave this unique effected when I pulled down the fader and added effects to it.. can you explain what's going on on button 9 which says time over it,.. what( time) is it effecting? thanks my brooo!!!!

Help me, please. I don't have any cable connected to the sampler, but I can't use the microphone because I get the "L R & C" mode displayed How can I switch the mode to "MIC"?
Anytime I chop a sample and use it in multiple scenes, it will wipe out the chops, if I change it on another scene. Is that supposed to happen? I would have hoped it retained the chopped sample in one scene, if I change it in a committed / duplicated scene
@@goatpepperherbaltea7895 Hi. I didn't, but I haven't put a lot of time into it in a while. There just was no clear explanation or anything I could find addressing it. That usually means it is a shortcoming in my experience. I would love to know if anyone finds something further on it, if there is.
i have my iphone inputting to the ko2 via aux. when i follow your guidance and press sample, i do not see Mic; instead i ssee C L and R. So, im assuming that is because of the line input. am i wrong?? thanks

question...how is it that you can still preview the recorded sound while in the sample section with all the pads blinking..anytime I do this I have get out of that mode into the sound section to preview the sound on whatever pad I put it on...
is there a way for the device to wait with the live chopping playback until i press the first pad? i think its quite hard to nail the first slice on the first pad, since it automatically starts playback when i hit shift + sample
Agreed, it would be better if the device waited for the first pad to be pressed, then the sample starts, also wish I did not have to hold down each pad.
Any idea why my sample won’t play back in sample mode. Like after I’ve recorded it? When I go back to main I can hear the unchopped sample but not before exiting the sample mode.

can you use the built in mic to sample to a pad while listening to a playing pattern and monitoring with headphones?
Great tutorials! Can you decide which number your recorded sample is going to get? When I record a sample it gets a random number/placement.
I’m wondering the same thing. The first two recordings I did overwrote numbers 33 and 34. I don’t want to overwrite the built in samples (yet)
Actually scratch my last comment. It didn’t overwrite anything. I just assumed it did until I realized that those slots were blank lol 🤦♂️.
That should be possible. You can select an empty sound before sampling to that pad.

Hi Son Wu. Does sampling ever overwrite an existing sample or is the new sample automatically assigned to an empty sample slot?
I haven't noticed anything being overwritten…it always looks for empty slots.

Can KO II record a sample without holding a button?
Do you have to do this in an empty project so it doesn't mess with what you were making or does going into sample mode make it sit outside of the projects?
