LOL thanks Monty, it was actually difficult to work with that thin gut, that was really a little project to keep me busy for a couple of hours, thanks for watching
Thanks my friend, it was really a piece of scrap and still is, I had a hour to spare and decided to try make it look better, thanks very much for watching
they turned out to look very good, I really don't like trying to work with fishing line, It's very hard for me to even attach a hook, my eyes aren't what they used to be.
Great job Sir !! You gave a new look to the old windchimes !! Just one or two points... 1.Can a thicker cord be used to make the job easier ? 2. How about attaching a windcatcher to the clapper?
Hi seema, yes you can use thicker cord and a wind-catcher is a good idea, attach it from the clapper center and let the catcher hang under and away from the pipes
Bicarbonate of soda (otherwise known as bicarb soda) is a pure leavening agent. It is alkaline and commonly used in recipes that mix moisture plus an acidic ingredient (such as lemon juice, chocolate, buttermilk or honey) together to make batter rise. You can use cream of Tartar as well
Hi Debi, the best way would be to take a very very small side cutter, available at any hardware or big food chain shops, lift it out with that or if you can grab it with a nail cutter you can pull it out with as well
What is carbonated soda? Im in Canada...so maybe there is another word for it? Can someone please tell me? I am trying to repair my aunt's chime and its stained on the pipes...whoever put it together also got paint on some of them.
Hi Carbonated soda is a powder that you mix with water, when you drink it it helps for Heartburn, you can use plain Soda Water that you buy at shops to mix in Whiskey etc, all drinks like Coke etc have carbonated soda in, it's the stuff that provides the fizz to drinks, hope it helps
I was disappointed that you didn’t show how you attached the clapper or how you tied the knot in the fishing wire. That is the part that I don’t know how to do… mine keeps falling apart. 🤷🏼♀️
Nice job, I have a couple of those wind chimes around here that need to be repaired. Now I see you are the man for the job. Thanks for sharing.

What is in the solution you soaked the pipes?
Hi it is normal Carbonated soda that you can buy at a grocery store
Like sprite or 7-Up??? That’s a new one for me!
What is carbonated soda? Is it like Canada Dry?

@@jankotze1959 bicarbonate of soda is different than carbonated soda and it called for carbonated. Thank you for your response.
I like wind chimes
Nice, thanks for watching Travis,
I tried painting my wood top with silver paint. It doesn't last through winter and summer. Needs urethane coats.
Lucky mine still hold on, may be our warmer weather helps
@@jankotze1959
Mine isn't sheltered. Exposed to all elements.
@@verdegris855 I used gloss enamel spray paint on mine, also sit outside but under a roof
How did you find it
My wife have it all the time, not sure where it came from, thanks for watching
@@jankotze1959 you’re welcome😊
how did you remove the rusted nails? have a chime with tiny nails that I can't get removed. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I've been working on one of mine now I didn't know how to take the crud off the chimes. I'll try the soda water. Some people say to use coke.
you can try Coke, it is the soda in the coke that will help
@@jankotze1959 thanks

O sorry Raechelyn, do you want to make a video for you about that
No… I figured it out already but thank you!!
But you missed showing the whole threading sequence……argh!
Sorry my friend
@@jankotze1959 it’s ok, I found a fence post to chew on.
He should not have cut the string. They were strung at different lengths!
Thank you Laurie
