It's even more poetic: Silco found himself in the same situation as Vander. He just couldn't give his daughter to Piltover, just like Vander refused to give up Vi. And at the time, Silco called Vander a coward. Now, Silco realised he couldn't do anything to achieve his goal: he couldn't abandon Jinx: "It all make sense now, brother".

Silco died as a Father and not a villain. Definitely, the best character development for me from start to end, paired with Sting's "What could have been" song.
@@petrgalko4152 I know what you are saying but does he really? I don't know how they did it but somehow every charcter is able to shine on their own. Vi is fully fleshed out - Jinx's story arc is complete (or at least her transformation is) - but even then we get perfectly introduced characters like Mel, Victor, Cait and Marcus. Amazing what they did with 360 minutes.

Characters like Vi are not interesting to me because I am unable to find a common ground with them. Theres no connection on my part towards her so I don't care for her no matter what the story may do. Similarly to Haimerdinger (sry not sure how its spelled) he seems nice and all, but in the end is more irritating and uninteresting to me. Silco and Jinx on the other hand are the characters and people that I just love and can relate to SO MUCH!

I get their motivations and their pain and that makes for a fucking great experience. That's also the reason why I liked Marcus. Ofc he is not a good person but neither is he bad. People seem to forget that he is the person that worked with Silco to keep the peace for 7 years. He also cares for his daughter and the people working under him.
I really hope they get rewarded for this incredible work. Riot showed a side by side preview of the visuals and script, and its clear how much the animators went beyond in transforming words to amazing art.
That voice that Jinx dropped into when she said "...even though I'm different." @14:15 was souls shattering. We have never heard Jinx sound so... defeated and mature. It tore my heart out. Ella Purnell did an insane job voicing Jinx.

The first time Powder accidentally "kills" her father figure, she's pushed away. When it happens again with Silco, he uses his last words to assure her that it wasn't her fault. Harsh truth is that Vi can't love Jinx, and Powder was truly gone
It's the small details thought-out the series. Silco was lied to by Marcus about Vi, but he never lied to Jinx. I don't think he lied to anyone the entire series. On Silco desk his coffee hug and ashtray he uses were made with Jinx designs on them like she made them as a child for him, proud dad showing of his daughters art work. When Jinx jump on his lap and stab him in the cheek he could have pushed her off but he took it. The shark rocket had a scare on it's left eye like Silco. Even in his dying breath he gave positive reassurance to Jinx's self worth, not to attack but to just be herself so she knows she was loved. Silco is easy choice for Villain of the Year, very complex yet relatable.

At the beginning of Arcane, when Silco found Powder, he saw in her the same fear and anger that he had felt before. A sibling abandoning or betraying their sibling. He saw a reflection of himself in Powder. At the end of Arcane, Silco saw in Jinx what Vander saw in Powder, Vi, Clagger, and Milo. A child who you'd give anything for. He saw that he and Vander were more similar than he realized. At the beginning, Silco was angry that Vander chose his children over Zaun. He thought he was selfish. At the end, Silco understood that a parent would give anything, even their dreams, for their kids. And that isn't selfish. That's love. "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" "I would never have given you to them. Not for anything." "Don't cry. You're perfect." "You're my daughter." In the end, Silco showed that he meant what he said. Loyalty matters to him. And in the end, so did love.
I have never had a show where I wanted to see the next episode this much. Cliffhangers, excitement ... that's standard, but this show is just such a masterpiece and exceeds every show I have watched to date. Riot has absolutely outdone themselves. I want MORE.

It's very, very likely that Season 2 will either come 2023 or 2024. They already confirmed it wont come out in 2022. Yes it took them around 6 Years, but that includes building a team/stuido from 0, learning stuff by themselves, finding voice actors, script writing and animation etc etc. So yea, it wont take 6 years, give it 2-3 years
I think the Jinx/Silco dynamic might just be one of, if not the most interesting and complex character dynamics I've ever seen in a TV show. There's so many ways to unravel it, to interpret it. What is sincere, what is manipulation. What is toxic, what is unconditional love. There will be videos upon videos about these two, and I'm just blown away they handled it with such depth and care. Bravo Riot and Fortiche.

Those terms were still negotiable, especially since Jayce and Silco made the deal in private. Just because Silco wasn't ready to fullfill the bargain on all accounts doesn't mean that they wouldn't have come to an understanding and even after Silco's death, they could have made a peace contract with the surviving rebels, so yes, peace was definitely an option

Arc 1 - a win for the good guys in sight (Mylo got Vander out of the cuffs, Claggor got through the wall, Vi had the door closed on Deckard), but then Powder literally blows it all up with a hextech explosive she made. Arc 3 - a win for the good guys in sight (Mel sides with Jayce/peace despite what it means for her mother/family who want the war, council votes to grant the undercity independence), but then Jinx literally blows it all up with a hextech explosive she made. God I love the echos written into this show! Great season - great reactions!
They aren't literally brothers. And in case anyone's curious, the rocket launcher she used at the end there is named "Fishbones" and the rotating mini gun she killed Silco with is named "PowPow"
Keep in mind that the peace was conditional. In order for Silco to get what he wanted and Zaun to be free from Piltover, he had to hand Jinx over which he was never going to do. The council agreeing to peace was just for show really, because it was based solely on Jayce’s demands. War was inevitable and in a way Jinx kickstarting it by attempting to take out Piltovers leaders and the inventors of hextech was a very smart move.
Nah - it goes to show that the topside was prepared for peace. That will be very important for season 2. Also war was no longer imminent since we don't know what Silcos plan was if he would not hand over Jinx - he could just as well have returned the gemstone and kept Shimmer off the streets to keep his people from annihilation - because Jayce was right: Zaun was not prepared for that war. With Silco gone the chances in such a struggle would be even more diminished. And Jinx taking out the council has nothing to do with tactics - it was just killing those she had to think accountable for her distrusting Silco. They are the reason he got killed. I think there was no big plan behind it. Jinx has taken over and she will see the world burn.

To them this is an act of war when this would otherwise have been peace. They'll never know and will always blame Jinx for this. Which is tough....I don't know how Vi and Jinx have any kind of relationship after this.

I think they will continue that in season 2 and I feel like it will be even more devastating than season 1. Also they can continue the lore and even bring some story arcs to a close. And yeah, I was kind of being hyperbolic, they will not have any relationship in S2, well not one that is any better, I do expect things to get even darker (if that's possible) One can only imagine the rift between them knowing that Jinx killed Caitlyn's mom, among others.

For people who dont know the game or the lore. Theres an item in the game called Zhonyas Hourglass. When activated it makes you completely invulnerable in a statis for 2.5 seconds. When it is activated, you glow and it makes a sound almost identical to the one Mels armor makes right before the rocket breaks the glass.
@@FennelRPG Its part of the world. And its the whole point. Show, dont tell. They mentioned her "armor" even though it looks nothing like armor, and then they have it shine like zhonyas. I have no idea how you could possibly have an issue with this.

@@FennelRPG The pocket watch (or "chronometer", apparently) was just a nod to Ekko's character in the game, though - it didn't actually do anything, Ekko was just remembering their game as children. I agree, that bringing in some advanced tech to save the day, with no previous explanation or even foreshadowing (outside of a game that 90% of the audience has no knowledge of) would be very poor writing. And I think Riot Games are better than that, based on how well they did Season 1. If something does save one or more people in the Council Chamber, it'll be something already established within the show - not just a miracle pulled out from left field. As as with everything else so far, no knowledge of the game will be required to understand it.

Watch the final scene again! Mels dress fades and the gold ornaments underneath started to kinda glow. I feel like in a show so full of detail that is definitly important.
She knows wartime. Itd make sense if she wore some kind of insurance for attacks, and in game there's and invulnerability peice that makes a similar sound effect and makes the character glow gold.
That would be pretty shit writing; to foreshadow a miracle save 30 seconds before it's needed. I think Riot Games can and will do better than a Deux Ex Machina save. Not to mention, that glow and "sound effect" would mean nothing to anyone who hasn't played the game - and so far, they've made a point of ensuring that everyone, whether you have knowledge of the game or not, can understand what is happening.
Circle closed, Vander was weak and died because of VI, thats why Silco didnt understand that but now when he took Jinx, he understood why and got weak and killed.
Dude, they legit got everything for this show. The plot/storywriting, the excellent character development, the different types of music that plays. It's just so perfect.
I feel like even though it ended on a cliffhanger, season 1 was all about the battle for Powder/Jinx's soul and it ended that with finality. Can't wait for season 2! If you or people reading this comment want to know more about League lore, the Map of Runeterra is a good way to dip your toes in. It's not overwhelming and is just a bunch of art and short blurb for the regions, like things about their attitude towards magic or their form of government.
I also recommend watching Necrit's videos on youtube. He has some good videos about lores and just many many things. It's easy to follow through than just reading certain things.

People who found this cliffhanger unsatisfying missed the whole point of this season, and that we indeed did get a final resolution. This is the birth of Jinx, and that is what this whole season was about.
Silco finally understood Vander in the final episode. Silco protected Jinx rather than try to take what he wants, just like how Vander protected Vi in the 3rd episode. Vander and Silco were really brothers, the only difference is Vander moved on earlier than Silco, since Vander now has his kids but Silco is still trying to complete their goal.
A great story always needs characters we can relate to and feel for, even the villains. I'm happy Riot got this right, while many others got it wrong. I never played any Riot games so this comes as a big surprise for me, but I loved the characters so much, expecially how Silco was portrayed. One of the best "villains" I've seen in a long while. As a former Blizz fan, this was the dream I was hoping Blizzard could've achieved with any of their games. So sad we'll probably never see that day now. Anyways, huge props to Riot for such a great series. Now Season 2 please!
very good said! up until the end i thought i figured out most of the characters, how they feel and their motives etc. but especially mel and silco got ALOT of character progression in the last act. this made them sooooooo much more relatable and likable. the best villains are the ones you dont know anymore if they are true villains. the world isnt black and white, good and evil, and this showed it perfectly.
I mean, you are correct. Doing the right but far too late. However there are clues in the season finale that indicate that many people may survive. All I can say is this; anyone in animation can tell you, you don’t accentuate details without it meaning something. Look back for someone who is aware of the rocket coming towards them. They notice it before everyone else while not being in a position to physically see it.
What people seem to miss quite a lot is there was never going to be peace even if Jinx didn’t use fishbones (the rocket launcher) to blow up the council room. The most important part of the deal was for Piltover to have Jinx in custody but Silco wasn’t willing to do that. From Silco’s own words, “they can all burn”.
Also fishbones was made for Silco because he loves sea monsters as stated early in the season, also fishbones has a mark around its left eye like Silco
Tbh I think if Silco stopped the production of shimmer and gave back the gemstone the council would notice that giving Zaun independence would help Piltover too and kind of forget about the Jinx part or be fine without Silco giving her up. Hell, there's a possibility they weren't even informed about what Jayce wanted Silco to do.

While true - there will be fallout from Jinx's actions. There will be a difference between "we were willing to have peace and give you Zaun - if you don't want to give us Jinx then we will take her" and what is now "We were willing to have peace and give you Zaun - but the actions taken by Jinx mean war"
If this show doesnt win anything i start a riot and the Awarding system is rigged to the core.. This Show has to Win big time! Best Series, Best Picture, Best Animations/visuals, Best Music etc. something like that.

Side comment for a detail I haven't seen other people mentioning. Where he dumped Skye's ashes is the place they were playing as a kid with the clockwork boat, etc. What is so significant is the building they are sitting in. For the flashback scene, the water was oily, and the place rather dirty. That building didn't exist. However, now that building has water flowing, and the water is clean in that lagoon, and the area more cleaned up. Note the mechanisms behind them when talking after dumping the ashes? It is similar to how that clockwork boat's machinery looked. I think that said structure was probably something that Viktor had been a part of to clean the water which is why it is so important to him.
Never thought i would rewatch this series again with your reaction video. It feels good to see reaction from a non league players' perspective. I guess it wasn't that complicated afterall, because you guys are right on whats happening most of the time. This season 1 is mostly about jinx development as a character, the reason behind her insanity and craziness. League lore shows how jinx can manage to blow things up everything on Piltover city and (future) Sheriff Cait with Warden Vi can't manage to catch her no matter what they do. The interaction between these 3 characters in the game is wholesome. You'll remember jinx from now on 😂
The fact that Silco accepted Jinx for the way she is, "You're perfect", unlike Vi who only wanted Powder back not Jinx is sad. "I thought you would love me like you used to. Even though I... changed". Once again, Jinx killed her family, and completely embraced herself as a Jinx sitting on the chair.
I don't understand why people are so hard on Vi, but extremely forgiving of Jinx to the point of dismissing her homicidal tendencies. Vi doesn't want Jinx to go back to how she was. She even told her "it's ok, we both did [change]" during their reunion. Vi just doesn't fully understand what's going on in Jinx's head, which is to be expected since they barely had a moment alone to talk without the circumstances being life or death.
I cried like a baby when Silco died. If you think about it, the first time jinx messed up when she killed milo, vander and the other boy at the beggining Vi instead of talk to jinx she just slap her and cursed her, but when jinx killed Silco, he just accepted and did not get angry with Jinx he died saying that she was perfect, which was what Jinx wanted VI to say this whole time, and thats why she set on the "jinx" chair, there's so much detail in this show, I lovet so much. ps: sorry for my english, im not very good
that creature on the ceiling in singed's last scene is vander as warwick. he barely survived in ep 3 and singed turned him into one of his experiments.
The amount of sadness I felt for Jinx and Silco was something I never thought was possible. In just 9 episodes they managed to make us love the characters of the show. Can't wait for season 2.

I didnt think a "reaction" video like this would be so engaging. You are a great couple and I really enjoyed revisiting those scenes with you guys. Im going to go back through some of your earlier Arcane vids too. Really an event as much as a series really. Reminds me of the blow up over a couple of GoT episodes, but every single episode of Arcane is like that. Hope more get to see it, even though it's already one of the highest rated shows ever on IMDB and RT.

I've been watching lots of reactions because I'm addicted to this series! The latest thing I've noticed is in the dinner table scene where Jinx fakes out Caitlyn by acting as if she has surrendered. In the actual game, Jinx has an ability where she gets a large boost of speed. It's so cool to see that reflected in this show with the effects of the Shimmer that gave her that devilish speed to rush Caitlyn and knock her out.
There is a theory that someone like Mel who is from Noxus and is from a royal family could not have been banished away without some kind of protection. Her gold armour/dress could have a spell cast on it that could shield her from danger. The theory is we see it glow before the rocket hits so her magic armour could save the council.
The creature is vander, he gets turned into warrick, a character in LoL. There’s a lot of foreshadowing for him, and I don’t know anything about LOL but I saw a couple videos where they point out warricks theme playing when silco tells vander”I’ll show you what you really are” calling him the hound in the bar scene and being called a lapdog for the enforcers
Silco, when he picked up Powder, saw himself in the girl. Betrayed and abandoned by her sister. Just like he had been betrayed and abandoned by his brother, Vander. Nothing is ever expressly stated that anyone in the undercity is related by blood.
This is the best show of the year for me. It's just so masterfully made from the oil painting style artwork to the amazing music, great voice cast, pacing and the story is great with interesting characters.
While i knew Cait wasn't gonna die when jinx served that plate - but i quickly flashed to remember if Cait had any augments like a missing finger or limb that might be there - a moment of panic The last part with the piano from "What it Could've Been" hit with silco's line, damn tears
I think the league of legends works especially well for a TV series because there are no cinematics in the game itself. There is no single player story mode with its own cinematics, and so it is much easier to create a story that won't just be compared to the game.
One of the things I love best about this show is that our Heroes even our villains at times do fail. Just like in almost any other show. But in this case, our heroes fail because of their virtues, not despite them. Over and over we see where doing the right thing, the virtuous thing leads to unintentional and oftentimes tragic consequences. Even Jinx. Right up until the very end there was always a bit of Powder still in there. But in the end that last little remaining piece of Powder died. Doing the virtuous thing and protecting her sister from Silco.
the most heartbreaking thing is that Jinx is right...she's too far gone/messed up to go back to the innocent girl she once was (I never played the game so I'm hoping through some sort of miracle or positive magic she and Vi can reunite but just seems unlikely :(

The game lore is incohesive and jumbled because they decided to retcon a lot of things. The lore is highly inconsequential to the game and vice versa. The way it was before was Caitlyn and Vi going on cat and mouse chases with Jinx. Vi and Jinx weren't sisters, either.
If you guys love this show, I would highly highly recommend checking out riot's other animated videos or performances. If there is one thing that riot games is known for is making absolute banger animated shorts and music videos. Some recommendations are the worlds 2019 opening ceremony (Guaranteed to blow you away), Awaken, Warriors 2014 and 2019, All the KDA songs, True Damage-Giants, and Phoenix.

Also all the Tales of Runeterra shorts. They tell short digestible stories from around the world of Runeterra and it's really good to get a taste of every region
It's also worth to note that in the series nobody is good or bad really. Vander also wasn't a good guy, he just became one. He was a brute who lead people do death in the name of idea, including parents of Vi and Powder. He took them out of guilt that he caused all of that for nothing and his arrogance took away their parents. He also betrayed his brother and was ready to murder him in cold blood. His action created Vi and Powder as they were and Jinx, because of trauma she had to endure. He also created Silco. Vander became a good man and great father. However, one has to reap what he sow. In the end what he done returned and circle of hate continued. Then Silco who killed countless of people probably to get where he was became a good father but in the end you reap what you sow - and his actions also returned to him and he died. Jayce kills a child becasue he wanted to play "hero" with hammer, Viktor kills a woman she (probably) loved becasue he was lost in his desperate research... and so on. In the end your actions will have consequences - now or in future. Awesome series, awesome character, awesome story. Masterpiece.
‘What could have been’ is definitely the most emotional song in my opinion, second only to ‘Guns for hire’ they were just such emotional scenes and you can tell how much thought and effort they put into this show and the soundtrack and just everything
I'm not sure how right I am on this but everyone keeps saying Jinx messed up by blowing up the Council, I think that was on purpose. Silco said "We'll show them all, you and me" basically, so from that I think they were 1 not going to attempt for peace again and got to war. So after killing Silco, Jinx is leaning into her chaos. After all Silco said she was perfect, so the perfect way forward
The thing is, the only way for getting peace would be with jinx in the prison and this is something silco would never do. So there is no way for peace. Even without her shooting on them.
@@dixotv5586 Silco is dead. If after his death she just didn't fire that rocket they could have her locked up. She is unstable and murdered people and it is not safe to have her roaming around freely. Just like killers in real life who are mentally unstable, no one would feel safe knowing that they are walking freely after seeing what they have done.
This song exponentially amplified emotion of that last scene that already was huge. Entire next day after watching the last episode I couldn't collect myself. Damn. Entire season 9,5/10. Final scene absolute 9,99/10 because I didn't kill myself after watching it ;)
Such a great ending. This show not only has beautiful animation it's fantastic with story telling and character development as well. I can't wait for season 2.

Viktor walks in on Jayce about to “do something” and says “am i interrupting?”, Jayce did the same to Viktor in this episode. Then at the tea party, Vi thought she was helping when saying “picture mylo, claggor, vandor” but that made it worse. Mylo was the one always picking on her and name calling her and she accidentally killed vandor herself so in her head, he’d be upset or mad at her.
One thing i have learned that is every single main character from the game itself that is playable lives which means jayce and victor will live at least
Really enjoyed watching you guys react to these episodes! Hopefully you don't mind, but I wanted to point out that Riot Games didn't actually do the animation production work on this series. That was done by a French studio called "Fortiche" that Riot has worked with for almost a decade on various music videos and promotional material for League. I just like giving them the nod cause of all the artists working at Fortiche who must've poured their heart out into this series. You asked whether the creature in the roof of Singed's lab (the scientist if you didn't catch his name) was his daughter. It's pretty clear to people who play league of legends that that was a hint towards another champion who is known to hail from Zaun called Warwick. People have also been theorising Singed had experimented on Vander's body to create Warwick, but i doubt that's the case personally, since he would basically have had to bring him back to life

One thing is certain bout the council, Victor and Jayce are in the game witch basically takes years and years after the events that occur in the series so they will definetly be alive, but for the rest we will have to wait and see...
I wonder if Jinx chose a shark design for her missile launcher because of Silco. His previous "base of operations" was the cannery and he even had a big underwater window, enjoying the sight of marine creatures. Not only that but the RPG shark's left eye has a black scar drawn on it. She probably made it thinking Silco might like it, he did have a bunch of Jinx items on his desk, the mug, the ashtray. A shame he never had the chance to see it.
@Dos Cavazos, this series was truly amazing and is a 10/10 in my book. I played league of legends for a long time when it first came out and lost interest over the years, but they truly have built up amazing lore for each of their characters. I would suggest since you enjoyed this series so much you go and read the lore for the characters that are in the show. Victor has a very interesting story and so doesn't Jayce. One character though that is critical to this all is actually Singed, which is the doctor that helps Silco with the shimmer. He is involved with the creation of many of the characters in the universe. One important one which was teased at the end was Warwick(a warewolf). Many of the league fans believe that Vander is/becomes Warwick by Singed since in game when he interacts with Vi or Jinx, he remembers a few memories about them. There is actually a UA-cam video that shows these clips with references and the arcane clip to go with it. As always I love watching the both of you react to things, you both make it interesting and are not afraid to show some emotion when needed. I would love to see you make reaction videos to the lore if that interests you, since now that you have seen the story on screen there is more details which they obviously left out of season 1 which we might see in Season 2 depending on if they fit the story they want tell. Thanks again and keep up with the great content.

He just couldn't give his daughter to Piltover, just like Vander refused to give up Vi. And at the time, Silco called Vander a coward. Now, Silco realised he couldn't do anything to achieve his goal: he couldn't abandon Jinx: "It all make sense now, brother".

Vi is fully fleshed out - Jinx's story arc is complete (or at least her transformation is) - but even then we get perfectly introduced characters like Mel, Victor, Cait and Marcus. Amazing what they did with 360 minutes.
He loved Jinx, not Powder. Powder was a trophy of victory, and Jinx was a tool of destruction.

Characters like Vi are not interesting to me because I am unable to find a common ground with them. Theres no connection on my part towards her so I don't care for her no matter what the story may do. Similarly to Haimerdinger (sry not sure how its spelled) he seems nice and all, but in the end is more irritating and uninteresting to me.
Silco and Jinx on the other hand are the characters and people that I just love and can relate to SO MUCH!
@@petrgalko4152 I get that. I always sympathise with the villians - or at least I often find myself doing so. But I also connect with every other character. I get their motivations and their pain and that makes for a fucking great experience. That's also the reason why I liked Marcus. Ofc he is not a good person but neither is he bad. People seem to forget that he is the person that worked with Silco to keep the peace for 7 years. He also cares for his daughter and the people working under him.
On another note, let's give a lot of credit to the animators at the French studio FORTICHE. They really helped in making this amazing as well.
They did the majority of the work for Arcane, and did a damn fine job at that.

The first time Powder accidentally "kills" her father figure, she's pushed away. When it happens again with Silco, he uses his last words to assure her that it wasn't her fault. Harsh truth is that Vi can't love Jinx, and Powder was truly gone

It's the small details thought-out the series. Silco was lied to by Marcus about Vi, but he never lied to Jinx. I don't think he lied to anyone the entire series. On Silco desk his coffee hug and ashtray he uses were made with Jinx designs on them like she made them as a child for him, proud dad showing of his daughters art work. When Jinx jump on his lap and stab him in the cheek he could have pushed her off but he took it. The shark rocket had a scare on it's left eye like Silco. Even in his dying breath he gave positive reassurance to Jinx's self worth, not to attack but to just be herself so she knows she was loved. Silco is easy choice for Villain of the Year, very complex yet relatable.
She even made the rocket launcher in the design of a sea monster like the ones he liked to look at from the underground lab 😭

At the beginning of Arcane, when Silco found Powder, he saw in her the same fear and anger that he had felt before. A sibling abandoning or betraying their sibling. He saw a reflection of himself in Powder.
At the end of Arcane, Silco saw in Jinx what Vander saw in Powder, Vi, Clagger, and Milo. A child who you'd give anything for. He saw that he and Vander were more similar than he realized.
At the beginning, Silco was angry that Vander chose his children over Zaun. He thought he was selfish.
At the end, Silco understood that a parent would give anything, even their dreams, for their kids. And that isn't selfish. That's love.

"Don't cry. You're perfect."
"You're my daughter."
In the end, Silco showed that he meant what he said. Loyalty matters to him. And in the end, so did love.

I have never had a show where I wanted to see the next episode this much. Cliffhangers, excitement ... that's standard, but this show is just such a masterpiece and exceeds every show I have watched to date. Riot has absolutely outdone themselves. I want MORE.
Unfortunately, it took 6 years for them to make season 1, so we probably won't get season 2 for at least a couple more years 😭

It's very, very likely that Season 2 will either come 2023 or 2024. They already confirmed it wont come out in 2022. Yes it took them around 6 Years, but that includes building a team/stuido from 0, learning stuff by themselves, finding voice actors, script writing and animation etc etc. So yea, it wont take 6 years, give it 2-3 years

I think the Jinx/Silco dynamic might just be one of, if not the most interesting and complex character dynamics I've ever seen in a TV show. There's so many ways to unravel it, to interpret it. What is sincere, what is manipulation. What is toxic, what is unconditional love. There will be videos upon videos about these two, and I'm just blown away they handled it with such depth and care. Bravo Riot and Fortiche.

Keep in mind that the peace was conditional. In order for Silco to get what he wanted and Zaun to be free from Piltover, he had to hand Jinx over which he was never going to do. The council agreeing to peace was just for show really, because it was based solely on Jayce’s demands. War was inevitable and in a way Jinx kickstarting it by attempting to take out Piltovers leaders and the inventors of hextech was a very smart move.
Nah - it goes to show that the topside was prepared for peace. That will be very important for season 2. Also war was no longer imminent since we don't know what Silcos plan was if he would not hand over Jinx - he could just as well have returned the gemstone and kept Shimmer off the streets to keep his people from annihilation - because Jayce was right: Zaun was not prepared for that war.
With Silco gone the chances in such a struggle would be even more diminished.
And Jinx taking out the council has nothing to do with tactics - it was just killing those she had to think accountable for her distrusting Silco. They are the reason he got killed. I think there was no big plan behind it. Jinx has taken over and she will see the world burn.

To them this is an act of war when this would otherwise have been peace. They'll never know and will always blame Jinx for this. Which is tough....I don't know how Vi and Jinx have any kind of relationship after this.

I think they will continue that in season 2 and I feel like it will be even more devastating than season 1. Also they can continue the lore and even bring some story arcs to a close. For people who dont know the game or the lore. Theres an item in the game called Zhonyas Hourglass. When activated it makes you completely invulnerable in a statis for 2.5 seconds. When it is activated, you glow and it makes a sound almost identical to the one Mels armor makes right before the rocket breaks the glass.

@@FennelRPG The pocket watch (or "chronometer", apparently) was just a nod to Ekko's character in the game, though - it didn't actually do anything, Ekko was just remembering their game as children. I agree, that bringing in some advanced tech to save the day, with no previous explanation or even foreshadowing (outside of a game that 90% of the audience has no knowledge of) would be very poor writing.
And I think Riot Games are better than that, based on how well they did Season 1. If something does save one or more people in the Council Chamber, it'll be something already established within the show - not just a miracle pulled out from left field. As as with everything else so far, no knowledge of the game will be required to understand it.

Watch the final scene again! Mels dress fades and the gold ornaments underneath started to kinda glow. I feel like in a show so full of detail that is definitly important.
She knows wartime. Itd make sense if she wore some kind of insurance for attacks, and in game there's and invulnerability peice that makes a similar sound effect and makes the character glow gold.
That would be pretty shit writing; to foreshadow a miracle save 30 seconds before it's needed.
I think Riot Games can and will do better than a Deux Ex Machina save.
Not to mention, that glow and "sound effect" would mean nothing to anyone who hasn't played the game - and so far, they've made a point of ensuring that everyone, whether you have knowledge of the game or not, can understand what is happening.
Circle closed, Vander was weak and died because of VI, thats why Silco didnt understand that but now when he took Jinx, he understood why and got weak and killed.

Dude, they legit got everything for this show. The plot/storywriting, the excellent character development, the different types of music that plays. It's just so perfect.
I feel like even though it ended on a cliffhanger, season 1 was all about the battle for Powder/Jinx's soul and it ended that with finality. Can't wait for season 2! If you or people reading this comment want to know more about League lore, the Map of Runeterra is a good way to dip your toes in. It's not overwhelming and is just a bunch of art and short blurb for the regions, like things about their attitude towards magic or their form of government.
I also recommend watching Necrit's videos on youtube. He has some good videos about lores and just many many things. It's easy to follow through than just reading certain things.

This times 1000. People who found this cliffhanger unsatisfying missed the whole point of this season, and that we indeed did get a final resolution. This is the birth of Jinx, and that is what this whole season was about.
Season 2 will be in same city and story with more char like vender . Noxius and black rose
Silco finally understood Vander in the final episode. Silco protected Jinx rather than try to take what he wants, just like how Vander protected Vi in the 3rd episode. Vander and Silco were really brothers, the only difference is Vander moved on earlier than Silco, since Vander now has his kids but Silco is still trying to complete their goal.
A great story always needs characters we can relate to and feel for, even the villains. I'm happy Riot got this right, while many others got it wrong.
I never played any Riot games so this comes as a big surprise for me, but I loved the characters so much, expecially how Silco was portrayed. One of the best "villains" I've seen in a long while.
As a former Blizz fan, this was the dream I was hoping Blizzard could've achieved with any of their games. So sad we'll probably never see that day now.
Anyways, huge props to Riot for such a great series. Now Season 2 please!

up until the end i thought i figured out most of the characters, how they feel and their motives etc. but especially mel and silco got ALOT of character progression in the last act.
this made them sooooooo much more relatable and likable. the best villains are the ones you dont know anymore if they are true villains. the world isnt black and white, good and evil, and this showed it perfectly.
You might Want to check FF14 then. Emet silch is an outstanding villain.

I mean, you are correct. Doing the right but far too late. However there are clues in the season finale that indicate that many people may survive. All I can say is this; anyone in animation can tell you, you don’t accentuate details without it meaning something. Look back for someone who is aware of the rocket coming towards them. They notice it before everyone else while not being in a position to physically see it.
What people seem to miss quite a lot is there was never going to be peace even if Jinx didn’t use fishbones (the rocket launcher) to blow up the council room. The most important part of the deal was for Piltover to have Jinx in custody but Silco wasn’t willing to do that. From Silco’s own words, “they can all burn”.
Also fishbones was made for Silco because he loves sea monsters as stated early in the season, also fishbones has a mark around its left eye like Silco
Tbh I think if Silco stopped the production of shimmer and gave back the gemstone the council would notice that giving Zaun independence would help Piltover too and kind of forget about the Jinx part or be fine without Silco giving her up. Hell, there's a possibility they weren't even informed about what Jayce wanted Silco to do.

Where he dumped Skye's ashes is the place they were playing as a kid with the clockwork boat, etc. What is so significant is the building they are sitting in. For the flashback scene, the water was oily, and the place rather dirty. That building didn't exist. However, now that building has water flowing, and the water is clean in that lagoon, and the area more cleaned up. Note the mechanisms behind them when talking after dumping the ashes? It is similar to how that clockwork boat's machinery looked. I think that said structure was probably something that Viktor had been a part of to clean the water which is why it is so important to him.
Never thought i would rewatch this series again with your reaction video. It feels good to see reaction from a non league players' perspective. I guess it wasn't that complicated afterall, because you guys are right on whats happening most of the time. This season 1 is mostly about jinx development as a character, the reason behind her insanity and craziness. League lore shows how jinx can manage to blow things up everything on Piltover city and (future) Sheriff Cait with Warden Vi can't manage to catch her no matter what they do. The interaction between these 3 characters in the game is wholesome. You'll remember jinx from now on 😂

The fact that Silco accepted Jinx for the way she is, "You're perfect", unlike Vi who only wanted Powder back not Jinx is sad. "I thought you would love me like you used to. Even though I... changed".
Once again, Jinx killed her family, and completely embraced herself as a Jinx sitting on the chair.

Vi didn't get the chance to know Jinx. Silco only accepted her as he was dying bc he damn sure was mad at her actions and struggled with giving her up
I don't understand why people are so hard on Vi, but extremely forgiving of Jinx to the point of dismissing her homicidal tendencies. Vi doesn't want Jinx to go back to how she was. She even told her "it's ok, we both did [change]" during their reunion. Vi just doesn't fully understand what's going on in Jinx's head, which is to be expected since they barely had a moment alone to talk without the circumstances being life or death.
Not to say I fully disagree but this feels harsh on Vi tbh
I cried like a baby when Silco died. If you think about it, the first time jinx messed up when she killed milo, vander and the other boy at the beggining Vi instead of talk to jinx she just slap her and cursed her, but when jinx killed Silco, he just accepted and did not get angry with Jinx he died saying that she was perfect, which was what Jinx wanted VI to say this whole time, and thats why she set on the "jinx" chair, there's so much detail in this show, I lovet so much.

that creature on the ceiling in singed's last scene is vander as warwick. he barely survived in ep 3 and singed turned him into one of his experiments.

The amount of sadness I felt for Jinx and Silco was something I never thought was possible. In just 9 episodes they managed to make us love the characters of the show. Can't wait for season 2.

I didnt think a "reaction" video like this would be so engaging. You are a great couple and I really enjoyed revisiting those scenes with you guys. Im going to go back through some of your earlier Arcane vids too. Really an event as much as a series really. Reminds me of the blow up over a couple of GoT episodes, but every single episode of Arcane is like that. Hope more get to see it, even though it's already one of the highest rated shows ever on IMDB and RT.

I've been watching lots of reactions because I'm addicted to this series! The latest thing I've noticed is in the dinner table scene where Jinx fakes out Caitlyn by acting as if she has surrendered. In the actual game, Jinx has an ability where she gets a large boost of speed. It's so cool to see that reflected in this show with the effects of the Shimmer that gave her that devilish speed to rush Caitlyn and knock her out.

There is a theory that someone like Mel who is from Noxus and is from a royal family could not have been banished away without some kind of protection. Her gold armour/dress could have a spell cast on it that could shield her from danger. The theory is we see it glow before the rocket hits so her magic armour could save the council.
The creature is vander, he gets turned into warrick, a character in LoL. There’s a lot of foreshadowing for him, and I don’t know anything about LOL but I saw a couple videos where they point out warricks theme playing when silco tells vander”I’ll show you what you really are” calling him the hound in the bar scene and being called a lapdog for the enforcers

This is the best show of the year for me. It's just so masterfully made from the oil painting style artwork to the amazing music, great voice cast, pacing and the story is great with interesting characters.
While i knew Cait wasn't gonna die when jinx served that plate - but i quickly flashed to remember if Cait had any augments like a missing finger or limb that might be there - a moment of panic

I think the league of legends works especially well for a TV series because there are no cinematics in the game itself. There is no single player story mode with its own cinematics, and so it is much easier to create a story that won't just be compared to the game.

One of the things I love best about this show is that our Heroes even our villains at times do fail. Just like in almost any other show. But in this case, our heroes fail because of their virtues, not despite them. Over and over we see where doing the right thing, the virtuous thing leads to unintentional and oftentimes tragic consequences. Even Jinx. Right up until the very end there was always a bit of Powder still in there. But in the end that last little remaining piece of Powder died. Doing the virtuous thing and protecting her sister from Silco.
Viktor theorized that Hextech (and magic) adapt and learn from the user. I guess her Gauntlets are learning and reacting to her.
the most heartbreaking thing is that Jinx is right...she's too far gone/messed up to go back to the innocent girl she once was (I never played the game so I'm hoping through some sort of miracle or positive magic she and Vi can reunite but just seems unlikely :(

The game lore is incohesive and jumbled because they decided to retcon a lot of things. The lore is highly inconsequential to the game and vice versa. The way it was before was Caitlyn and Vi going on cat and mouse chases with Jinx. Vi and Jinx weren't sisters, either.

If you guys love this show, I would highly highly recommend checking out riot's other animated videos or performances. If there is one thing that riot games is known for is making absolute banger animated shorts and music videos. Some recommendations are the worlds 2019 opening ceremony (Guaranteed to blow you away), Awaken, Warriors 2014 and 2019, All the KDA songs, True Damage-Giants, and Phoenix.
The ruination is shit, but the rest is all good.

It's also worth to note that in the series nobody is good or bad really. Vander also wasn't a good guy, he just became one. He was a brute who lead people do death in the name of idea, including parents of Vi and Powder. He took them out of guilt that he caused all of that for nothing and his arrogance took away their parents. He also betrayed his brother and was ready to murder him in cold blood. His action created Vi and Powder as they were and Jinx, because of trauma she had to endure. He also created Silco. Vander became a good man and great father. However, one has to reap what he sow. In the end what he done returned and circle of hate continued. Then Silco who killed countless of people probably to get where he was became a good father but in the end you reap what you sow - and his actions also returned to him and he died. Jayce kills a child becasue he wanted to play "hero" with hammer, Viktor kills a woman she (probably) loved becasue he was lost in his desperate research... and so on.
In the end your actions will have consequences - now or in future.
Awesome series, awesome character, awesome story. Masterpiece.
‘What could have been’ is definitely the most emotional song in my opinion, second only to ‘Guns for hire’ they were just such emotional scenes and you can tell how much thought and effort they put into this show and the soundtrack and just everything
I'm not sure how right I am on this but everyone keeps saying Jinx messed up by blowing up the Council, I think that was on purpose.
Silco said "We'll show them all, you and me" basically, so from that I think they were 1 not going to attempt for peace again and got to war.
So after killing Silco, Jinx is leaning into her chaos. After all Silco said she was perfect, so the perfect way forward
The thing is, the only way for getting peace would be with jinx in the prison and this is something silco would never do. So there is no way for peace. Even without her shooting on them.
@@dixotv5586 Silco is dead. If after his death she just didn't fire that rocket they could have her locked up. She is unstable and murdered people and it is not safe to have her roaming around freely. Just like killers in real life who are mentally unstable, no one would feel safe knowing that they are walking freely after seeing what they have done.
This song exponentially amplified emotion of that last scene that already was huge. Entire next day after watching the last episode I couldn't collect myself. Damn.
Entire season 9,5/10. Final scene absolute 9,99/10 because I didn't kill myself after watching it ;)
Such a great ending. This show not only has beautiful animation it's fantastic with story telling and character development as well. I can't wait for season 2.

Viktor walks in on Jayce about to “do something” and says “am i interrupting?”, Jayce did the same to Viktor in this episode. Then at the tea party, Vi thought she was helping when saying “picture mylo, claggor, vandor” but that made it worse. Mylo was the one always picking on her and name calling her and she accidentally killed vandor herself so in her head, he’d be upset or mad at her.
Yay! Time to "see my friends" on this channel again XD
When the story can make you cry for the villain, that is next level writing.

Hopefully you don't mind, but I wanted to point out that Riot Games didn't actually do the animation production work on this series. That was done by a French studio called "Fortiche" that Riot has worked with for almost a decade on various music videos and promotional material for League.
I just like giving them the nod cause of all the artists working at Fortiche who must've poured their heart out into this series. That said props to the Riot showrunners and their writing room for crafting such a compelling story.

You asked whether the creature in the roof of Singed's lab (the scientist if you didn't catch his name) was his daughter. It's pretty clear to people who play league of legends that that was a hint towards another champion who is known to hail from Zaun called Warwick. People have also been theorising Singed had experimented on Vander's body to create Warwick, but i doubt that's the case personally, since he would basically have had to bring him back to life

One thing is certain bout the council, Victor and Jayce are in the game witch basically takes years and years after the events that occur in the series so they will definetly be alive, but for the rest we will have to wait and see...
I wonder if Jinx chose a shark design for her missile launcher because of Silco. His previous "base of operations" was the cannery and he even had a big underwater window, enjoying the sight of marine creatures. Not only that but the RPG shark's left eye has a black scar drawn on it. She probably made it thinking Silco might like it, he did have a bunch of Jinx items on his desk, the mug, the ashtray. A shame he never had the chance to see it.
@Dos Cavazos, this series was truly amazing and is a 10/10 in my book. I played league of legends for a long time when it first came out and lost interest over the years, but they truly have built up amazing lore for each of their characters. I would suggest since you enjoyed this series so much you go and read the lore for the characters that are in the show. Victor has a very interesting story and so doesn't Jayce. One character though that is critical to this all is actually Singed, which is the doctor that helps Silco with the shimmer. He is involved with the creation of many of the characters in the universe. One important one which was teased at the end was Warwick(a warewolf). Many of the league fans believe that Vander is/becomes Warwick by Singed since in game when he interacts with Vi or Jinx, he remembers a few memories about them. There is actually a UA-cam video that shows these clips with references and the arcane clip to go with it.
As always I love watching the both of you react to things, you both make it interesting and are not afraid to show some emotion when needed. I would love to see you make reaction videos to the lore if that interests you, since now that you have seen the story on screen there is more details which they obviously left out of season 1 which we might see in Season 2 depending on if they fit the story they want tell.
