    Very neat!
    For painting on fabric, you may wish to get some fabric medium. It's made to turn acrylic paint into fabric paint.

      Good call. I've never tried it, but I should. Even for painting on foam it might help.

    Those Fabricstrips on the legs are called puttees

    • @katphyre
      @katphyre 6 років тому +1

      Mr Duke Silver are they for keeping sand out? Or do they just look cool?

    • @MrDukeSilverr
      @MrDukeSilverr 6 років тому +2

      well they used them in the military back in the early 20th century, probably helped keeping the mud out of your boots while not limiting movement

    • @katphyre
      @katphyre 6 років тому +1

      Yeah, I recall seeing them on WW1 uniforms. My great grandfather's photo had them. He was an Army doctor in France so I suppose mud was more likely than sand.

    • @MrDukeSilverr
      @MrDukeSilverr 6 років тому +1

      My great grandfather fought in WW1 too, as a German in Morocco tho

      I had great great great somewhere back there uncles who served in the Prussian Guard in WWI. It seems like almost every war I have some ancestor on both sides.

    I found that Angelus paint works best for footwear and you don't get that stiffness that you do with common acrylic paints.

    Moisture farming is so much more fun than saving the universe, isn't it? :D Enough with the jokes, this was a really cute outfit! And don't mind the white strip on the front, it's barely noticeable! Your costume looks great! (And your kid looks as funny as you are, so that's always cool!)

    • @LostWax
      @LostWax  6 років тому +2

    • @LostWax
      @LostWax  3 роки тому

      Yeah, 300 is too short and 315 will just get caught on stuff. It's a pretty well known fact in the ribbon dancing community.

      Actually I was kind of impressed with myself on that one, I made it in about 3 hrs only using materials I found around the house. Certainly not screen accurate but not bad at a glance.
