Why would the Bulls trade Butler to the Cavs and for what? Love?! How is this even a thing when you have Boston, Phoenix, Minnesota, Lakers who have future picks and young assets to trade for Butler but Cleveland somehow comes on top in the discussion to get Butler.

Colin often (deservedly) gets criticised, but give credit where credit is due, at 3:10 onwards (about butler or george) that was actually really insightful and true, and was a totally different perspective

Umm that 300 million dollar figure thrown around on the internet includes his NBA contract and endorsements, including Nike as well. The lifetime billion dollar Nike deal is exactly what it mean lifetime, not a billion in the next 5 years. Now don't get me wrong, Lebron is a very rich man but he is no 5.4 billion Dan Gilbert rich (which is wealthy). I'm pretty sure you heard the Chris Rock line about wealthy owners. "Shaq is rich, the white man writing his check is wealthy."
In addition, just to relish on the Nike deal a bit, the Jordan brand is more valuable to Nike Inc. at this current time than any other endorsement on the books. In 2015 Nike generated 30.6 billion from the Jordan brand, while the Lebron brand only accounted for only .4% of the revenue for that fiscal year. And we all know that Lebron has the billion dollar deal and in theory, Jordan doesn't. Jordan is worth 1 billion and still rising and I believe he is still alive.
As I said per there is a difference between rich and wealthy and Lebron is rich.
Why doesn't Cleveland just trade lebron for a bunch of picks and players before lebron tries to leave again. Kind of like the Herschel Walker the trade Dallas Cowboys did with the Vikings back in the day.

The best chance he has to conquer another champion ring would be staying with the Cavs, for sure, if the team gets new, minimally adequate players to the roster. Whatever the case, the pressure he will impose on himself and on his teammates, added to that imposed by the media and the public, will be enormous and almost unbearable. He won't provide the environment required for his team to develop as a title conquering unit. Nobody will. It won't work, and age differential is expanding. Just stay in Cleveland and try once more. If they win, the door will be open for new victories. If they don't, bye bye, so long...
