- I had a custom request for a "different shirt with black, dark green, dark purple, and maybe dark navy". This is what I came up with.

Absolutely beautiful amazing 👏
Really love the colors! Hope the guy liked it. What an interesting fold. You really come up with some great designs. Not to mention your color combos!
Thank you.
When my brain is actually working properly and engaged, I try to work on new designs.
I love how it came out. Great color combo
😳😳😳 this shirt is gorgeous!!! It looks like a mendala and now I want one!!!! I'll try this but with red, orange and magenta to see if I can make a firebird version.
**I was wondering why you weren't using a form this time. It's cool, we all have those moments. Since my aneurysm I have them more often, but we just keep on trucking. It turned out gorgeous. Whoever ordered this is one lucky person and I'm a bit jealous right now. Lol
I don't know why the form thing isn't happening lately. The past few weeks, I completely forget about making the cardboard form before starting to dye and it results in more work (of course) trying to keep the ice in place. I guess I need to add yet another post-it note to remind me to add a form...
@@CasualCollisions it would help yes. I know that the Post-it notes everywhere kind of start to look strange two other people, but it helps us. Keep staying strong. You're doing a great job and I really love the results of what you make.
This is insanely impressive! Beautiful work!!
Thank you!
Love it ! It jumped right off the screen at me !
Headed out to try this now!
Let me know how it goes.
This really expanded my mind on folding! WHY did I never make this connection!???
Love the shirt my dude, thanks so much
I love the colors, beautiful!
Thank you.
You can get metal or acrylic yardsticks/metersticks to draw long straight lines.
Yes I have many in the studio due to woodworking and leather working. But, I'm rather lazy and none were within arms length.
Love love Kool love tiydiy t-shirt weather
Beautiful.
Thank you.
It’s beautiful!
Thank you.
Great job
Thanks.
This is so beautiful! I've been watching lots of videos trying to figure out what techniques to try and I see that sometimes people dye one side and flip it and then do the same colors on each segment and other times, like yours, you use different colors on the back side. How would the result change between these two techniques?
I'll add that as a video request. Using different colors on the back allows you to either increase contrast or increase color depth - depending on the relationship of the colors you use between the front and back.
This is an amazing pattern!
Thank you.
Hi! The video is great, but I have a question. I did it, and after washing the color dulls a bit, how can I make the color look good?
If the color is washing out, be sure you:
1) Used a fiber reactive dye like Procion
2) You soaked the shirt in soda ash and didn't rinse it prior to tying/dyeing
3) You let the dye sit in the fabric for at least 24 hours
4) The temperature while the dye was in the fabric was at least 78F - preferrably warmer
the dye we get here in trinidad is very thin it not even black what to thickens the dye with
I thicken dye with guar gum as it's readily available where I live; but, most dyers use sodium alginate.
@@CasualCollisions thanks but I live trinidad caribbean those stuff we don't get what can we used that available home to thickens the dye
@@CasualCollisions what is sodium alignate
Awesome. Xl for me
What type of sinew do you buy from amazon? What’s the brand name? Sorry I can’t find the comment where you mention this
It's artificial, waxed, flat sinew. Here are a couple of links:
Black Sinew, 300-yard Roll: amzn.to/2XFVBr7
Brown Sinew, 300-yard Roll: amzn.to/2A0OAIB
what is the name of the string what type of string
It's artificial, waxed, flat sinew. I buy it in 900' rolls.

I usually just go with whatever color is the least expensive each time I re-order.
So I've been tie dyeing shirts and reverse tie dyeing shirts for a couple months and the dye is really expensive ....it seems like ice dyeing uses 10 times as much dye for one shirt ...what is a benefit to ice dyeing ..
Tyson Madding bc it looks cool as fuck
The component dye colors splitting is more appealing to some - such as myself - than just solid colors and color-mixing that occurs with liquid dye.
It doesn't use 10x as much dye, though. Even when I liquid dye, I *heavily* apply the liquid dye as I want vibrant, rich colors. The spoon in the video is a baby spoon - so approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of a teaspoon.

What is the best tie dye to use? Like what brand(s)?

could this be done using liquid dye ....its all i have
Yes, most of the ice dye designs can be done with liquid dye. It will look quite a bit different, however. Here's a link to a video that shows the difference between ice dye and liquid dye for the same design: ua-cam.com/video/HgEpV905lpA/v-deo.html
