I have been watching your videos for months now. I'm sewing for my 3 years old grand daughter and I made some beautiful dresses for her just by following your videos. Big thanks from South Africa!!

I enjoyed watching your tutorial you gave me a very clear understanding of how to use the measurements for drafting . A d thank you for all the others sizes as well❤❤❤❤❤😊
I just found your channel and this was one of the most clear and concise tutorials I have found that was understandable for those of us getting more into pattern making. Thank you so much! ❤
God bless you sis. I am a new subscriber few months ago. I have learnt a lot following you. I hope to be one of your online students one day. Thanks for the good work
Thank you Ajulam. One of the best tutorial videos on making a girls bodice. I have looked at many and your explanation is so simple and easy to follow. Thank you so much. You remind me of one of my school friends from Nigeria. God bless you lovely lady.
I love the way you explain. I am sewing for my 3 and 4 year old. what is the average measurement for 3 and 4 years old skirt length to the knee. I know kids come in different sizes.
Just subscribed thanks for this video. You came up 1/2 inch on the back length but you didn’t cut on that line. When do we cut that line? on the fabric? Would that be shortening the length in the back?
Hi thank u so much for this video it solves my biggest headache. Can u pls suggest on how much ease we should keep if we have the correct body measurement of a baby/child. And should the ease change with age?
Thank you for this tutorial. are these measurements with ease under the arm can I just make a dress straight from your measurements without adding ease.
6 months to a one years 3 for armole, I don't understand because I'm cutting a dress gown for a Year now and i measured 3 inches it looks small to me🤔 can the hand pass through it.
The front of the bodice is not the same as the back of the bodice because of the stomach. The back is flat so if you use the same measurements for the back bodice, it will not sit exactly on the waistline for the backside hence the need to cut off half inch to enable it sit exactly on the waistline after sewing.
I noticed that you added the seam allowance to the vertical measurements. Is there a reason that you did not add a seam allowance to the armhole curve and the neck curve? These are edges that must be finished, so they should have allowance for sewing the binding or other finish. I may have missed the explanation. Also can anyone out there explain how to measure the neck width and depth? Is there a mathematical formula to calculate it from other measurements?
If you are making a no sleeve dress, then no need for armhole seam allowance. You only add seam allowance to the armhole if you are making a dress with sleeve. For the neckline seam allowance, it's already included in the neck depth measurement though I forgot to mention that in the video.
Depending on the kind of gown you want to make. For example if you want to make an A line gown, you draft the pattern together but for a ball gown, you draft the pattern separately.
I am trying to make a dress for my baby gal hence came across this. Very explicit. Thank you but I notice you did not mention seam allowance for the neck. Kindly clarify.
Hi A. Thanks for this. It’s super helpful. Aside the shoulder where you added seam allowance, will you need to add seam allowance to the armhole and sides? Or it’s all factored in already?

Hi thank u so much for this video it solves my biggest headache. Can u pls suggest on how much ease we should keep if we have the correct body measurement of a baby/child. And should the ease change with age?
Half to 1 inch ease is okay for any kid age.

When you say the bodice numbers, does that mean from shoulder to waist? Example: 4 years old is 10 inches. Is it 10 inches from shoulder to waist?
Yes ma’am
Thank you ma, God bless you
Thank you for this tutorial. are these measurements with ease under the arm can I just make a dress straight from your measurements without adding ease.
Yes, if the baby is of the same age that I used to illustrate.
6 months to a one years
3 for armole, I don't understand because I'm cutting a dress gown for a Year now and i measured 3 inches it looks small to me🤔 can the hand pass through it.
So is there already seam allowance added to this? Or do I have to add my own?
What is the reason u make half inch shorter at the back zip??
The front of the bodice is not the same as the back of the bodice because of the stomach. The back is flat so if you use the same measurements for the back bodice, it will not sit exactly on the waistline for the backside hence the need to cut off half inch to enable it sit exactly on the waistline after sewing.
I love ur teaching ma , please what the full length for the 8 yrs old

I am learning a lot, can you say why no seam allowance was added to the armhole curve.
It's really optional, you can add 1/4 inch seam allowance to yours.
Nice method.
Thank u so so much🎉
Thank u very much
Thanks ma❤
Can I use the 6month for 3month old baby
Make one for chubby adults pls so I can make one for myself thanks this was very helpful I made dresses for my girls.

But if i want to sew a gown how do i add the skirt? Should draw the pattern all at once or separately?
Depending on the kind of gown you want to make. For example if you want to make an A line gown, you draft the pattern together but for a ball gown, you draft the pattern separately.
