I had a very wise friend tell me years ago that “if we “expect” Christmas morning to be like it was when we were children, you’ll always be disappointed. Expectations ruin everything… therefore, if we lower or have zero expectations, the reality won’t necessarily disappoint”. I use this advice for so many scenarios. But it’s not alway easy. Great topic!
this is a great reminder to have, to play with the fine balance of it's ok to be excited about something but not be "attached" to the outcome or have "expectation"... tricky business! ;)
I am packing for my return to Vilcabamba in two weeks. It is a confrontation with the material vs spiritual. I keep thinking of the man who started his spiritual journey by putting all his stuff in a boat and burning, sinking it in the middle of a river. He was left with his rice bowl and his daughter. They embarked on the path unencumbered. My daughter will stay here. Seventy two pounds of stuff will fly south with me. The hard case and the carry on. I guess the lesson is that simplifying a life too busy with stuff is a job for right now, not after I arrive in Ecuador. Unfortunately I will end up mule'ing in toys anyway.
Great content. More please. As I'm listening to it I'm trying to apply it to my life experiences.
You got it! Thanks for watching!

Yes, if we spent as much on ourself development as we have on our careers, it could actually even make retirement fun and more❤!
💯 Thanks for sharing!
self development is indeed a life long journey; much like a career, the longer we work at it the more skillful and wise we become :)
Great podcast. You all hit the nail on the head. Also, good-looking ladies.
Thank you kindly! ❤️ 🙏
Are you still on for the health retreat in Oct or Nov ? Have heard no updates if it is happening. Give descriptions & details please. 🙏
