Hi gitta, some tips for the limoncello from an Italian producer 😅 you don’t need to sanitize the container, you are using alcool, it’s enough… this is my recipe: the peels of 8 lemons, 1 liter of organic alcohol 96 degrees (I have no experience with vodka) 15 days of maceration. You don’t have to shake the container every day, it’s unecessary. After 15 days, filter the alcohol, and add a syrup of 1.5 liters of water and 0.8 kgs of sugar. Put water and sugar together and let it boil until the syrup reach 65/70 degrees - you can easily see it when the syrup becomes transparent. Don’t reach the boiling point. When you have the syrup ready, add the alcohol, put your limoncello in a sealed bottle and put it in the fridge - not in the freezer. We drink it cold, not frozen, and with no ice. If you have any doubt, text me ❤

Do you add anythinf for colouring or will the limoncello be yellow (as bright as the store bought ones:D) because of the lemon peel alcool only?:)

Thank you so very much for sharing this technique. It seems relatively simple and very doable. I saw a door lemoncello and I really, really thank you for sharing Happy New Year all the way from America. Heavy in the United States, California, to be exact city by the Bay.

Amazing Nicola! I have one question, I guess you leave the syrup get cold before mixing it with the alcohol? Thanks for the recipe :)

How cool that you moderated a ted event! :)
And regarding a hometour - I'm always curious to see how other people live, so if you're okay with showing, go for it! :) I wish you a nice weekend!

I asked my sister how to decorate my home and she gave me a three foot poster of herself- it greeted anyone who came in the front door for years. Your poster reminds me of that one.

I love when I'm snowed in. I don't feel pressure to go outside and be productive. It forces my attention inside to my neglected household chores and projects.

In regards to essential oils, I would suggest you look into Young Living and Doterra. These are multi level marketing companies. In the United States, reps from these companies make VERY false claims about the essential oils their company sells. Along with other claims to get people to either buy the product or sign up to do the same. Just a thought. Personally, I am very sensitive to perfumes. Most smells makes me cough or sometimes gag.

Regarding the turmeric stains, it’s probably gonna fade with time. When I learned about plant dyeing my teacher said that even though you get a strong yellow colour from it, it wont last very well. Plant dyes in general fades alot easier then other ones. But unlike most plant dyes, turmeric will even fade if it’s stored away from sunlight.

I used baking soda and water with a rag to remove the soot from the walls after my children's mother created a massive fire in the electric oven. Perhaps that would work with your turmeric issue. Just be advised that it may remove a little paint. I don't know how it would function with tile. I am commenting in this channel despite the negativity I have been shown in this channel's chat. I am just trying to help Gittemary, so please avoid the toxic responses.

Baking soda - spot test before using it across the wall. Results may vary depending on the type of paint on the wall.

Hmm, now I want to make limoncello as well. There store bought stuff is usually too sweet for me, but if I make it at home, I could control how much sugar goes in... Inspired :)
The snow looked so nice, I don't understand why you wouldn't wanna go outside :D Also, was the farmers market actually closed? Would the farmers be deterred by a little snow? Maybe I'm ignorant because we have snow all winter where I lived and people just have to deal with it, but if it's not a snow storm, why not go outside and have the farmers market?
About the turmeric - sunlight takes care of that over time usually. If it's in a spot where the sun doesn't reach, maybe get a UV lamp to point there or try baking soda (+vinegar).

Also made limoncello a few months ago, using 96% alcohol... Could only buy the alcohol in a liter bottle soooo ended up making about 3 liters of limoncello! Thought that would go a long way, but it's already gone hahahha. Used the lemon juice for lemonade :)
