on every car, you should disconnect the negative battery terminal first. if you disconnect the positiv terminal first and touch the chassi with your wrench you will create a shortcut and the battery will explode.
That I know. But if someone else can work so carelessly, then its generally not worth touching this car

Do you know if its ok to replace with non AGM battery?
I understand that AGM battery uses about half a volt higher charging that might overheat and produce damage or more more gasses if charging a non-AGM, Is it possible to adjust this battery type in the w211's system engineering settings?
You didn't show if you had any problems when installing the batteries back into the car. And you show yourself removing the BT OBD tool, so I suspect you did check or adjust something via the OBD port, but didn't show what that was.
Does anything need to be re-set? Any settings such as radio stations, seat and mirror user memories lost?

hi. when you remove both the batteries will it cause any troubles with the ecu programming. here they always keep the backup before removing the batteries.

I have changed both batteries, alternator is new and changed the bcs in my trunk and still get the red battery and here is what I don't understand my interior lights, cigarette lighter and my passenger side seat will not move when car is on but will if the car if off but key on the on before starting it up. everything works fine till I turn on the car and the red battery shows up then no cigarette lighter power, no interior lights, no ac and no movement on passenger side only. The battery shows that it's at 13+ and at times when I drive it goes to 14.2 or 14.1 then it drops back to 13+. I already checked all the fuses all the relays everything is good. Candy you please help me out to try and find what can be the problem.
Seat and other consumers turn off the car due to lack of current. I can't say for sure, but the car understands that the battery is low

@@AmazingRoad mine does not have the red brakes error it only has a battery error....I checked the sbc battery and it only has 4 volts...just ordered a new XS Power XP750 XP-Series AGM Battery....do I still need to reset the sbc?

Я могу его сам безболезненно снять и зарядить?

Снял и поставил оба акб наверно более 10 раз. После только надо обучать стекла. Можете зарядить сами

Я уже Вам ответил. если есть время не маловато. Даже лучше будет поставить 2A и медленно зарядить. Но а так 8A для зарядки

Hassan Alkhawaher well that is debatable. I’m sure it does OK but it’s definitely not going to be very smart so he’d need to keep an eye on it to monitor it for over charging. Not an issue as long as he’s careful. It’s definitely cool with the history behind it.

Badr Azzane This generation has the SBC brakes, unlike normal brakes where they’d still work if you lost power the SBCs won’t. The battery is there just in case as a redundancy kind of thing. The SBC brakes were very advanced but definitely had some issues. Mercedes just announced that they extended the warranty on them to 25 years which is pretty awesome because should there be an issue they are very expensive to fix.
