Queen’s version of happy Mother’s Day
HAHAAAAAA
Hahaha I literally laughed out loud at that 😂
I love the fact that in the band they have an astrophysicist and an electrical engineer as a member yet they put explosions in a bucket of Roger's riser that almost killed him ... classic
Well...they were also aiming to be rock stars...I think science/safety temporarily took a back seat. 🤭
Kind of takes you back to Spinal Tap's exploding drummers. Actually the band members would have had nothing to do with setting that up. There are other people whose job that is.

This song has one of the best Rock'n Roll riffs, thanks to Dr Brian May!
It sounds a little bit like " Matchbox " riff , dont you think ?

YEESS, UR CRROECT
Brian May - with the curly hair and the curly guitar licks !!!
One of the few musicians who were actually awarded a PhD and actually deserves to be called a dr. How do his co-workers at the observatory do it? I would just nag him to play the guitar riffs all the time. :) You know, for science.
John Deacon singing?
IT'S A MIRACLE
Not actually singing.
You're new to Queen, right?
I guess he didn't sing at concerts but sing in the recordings
IloooooooveBeatles The other way around.
Nah just an act
people don't realize that Queen was originally a HEAVY rock band. Thank you, Brian.
Yes, they were Led Zeppelin influenced. Just listen the Queen II album.
FR!!
I realise that and I love them all the more for it. The 1970s was a great time for music. People who only listen to Bohemian Rhapsody and the other big hits are missing out. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s all great stuff but there’s more out there to explore and enjoy 😊
I and other genius Queen fans realize it. Their first three albums rock the hardest and are their best

@@hopestephanie0708 I’ve seen it way too much that I just got used to it.
And the joke?
Brian May wrote this song. In a 1976 interview on Capital Radio, Freddie Mercury was asked "why tie your mother down?" Freddie replied: "Well this one in fact is a track written by Brian (May) actually, I dunno why. Maybe he was in one of his vicious moods. I think he's trying to out do me after 'Death On Two Legs' actually."
Queen commonly used explosions for effect during live and video performances of this song. During the video shoot, Roger Taylor was blown off his stool and off the stage due to an explosion placed in a bucket on his riser. While watching certain versions of the video you can see the part cut out, where Freddie turns around to face the back of the stage almost immediately. The recording had to be stopped for a moment because Roger was on the floor. Luckily, he was fine, though Brian May states clearly in video commentary, "Nearly killed Roger, it
has to be said!
POOR ROGER AHAHAHAHAHAH
marmalade I’m pretty sure that they’re referring to approximately 0:12, when the second explosion occurs followed by Freddie whipping around and then they cut to Brian. I might be off, though
WOW - glad it all worked out. So damn gorgeous, Freddie was.
No offense to Roger but him being blown offstage is hilarious to me lol

"Tie Your Mother Down" has always been one of my "go to" songs when I just want to crank it up and rock the hell out. Brian just kills it on this song and, of course, Freddie just nails it vocally. Superb!!!!!!!

Brian May: Astrophysicist, animal welfare activist, all around gentleman.
Also Brian May: Writes this and Fat Bottomed Girls.
I have a feeling that before all is said and done it will be Sir Brian May.
as much as i've always been a Queen fan it can't be disputed that many people who know Brian personally are of the opinion that he's a bit of a cock in all honesty
Brian May is the Governor! I love seeing him on the roof of Windsor Palace! Queen lives!
He's also the owner of a pair of Swedish wooden clogs/shoes.
he was also a pretty emo bitch 😂 who wants to live forever, all dead all dead, etc etc
At 1:11, we can see Freddie turning his head fastly. It was because one explosive set near Roger (Queen used to use explosives to make the performances look cooler) made him go flying (literally lol) and fell off from his chair. They had to stop the recording.
I think you mean 0:12. That's when the explosion was.

I could hear this song forever and never get tired of it
No, i don't like repeat songs
Freddy Mercury's voice will always be a blessing forever
I’ve always wondered where the idea came from for Freddie to wear this outfit. It’s so different from what he wore for concerts and videos, in the 70’s anyway. It looks good because anything he wore looked good. He was a beautiful man and had a spectacular body. Freddie IS the sexiest man ever, in my opinion! I have an unhealthy obsession with Freddie; for Queen in general but mostly Freddie. 😁
@Amy Bauer I don't think he thought he was ugly. He just didn't like his teeth. He had 1000s of men and women swooning for him. No way he thought he wasn't attractive.

Lock your Daddy out of doors
I don't need him nosing around

Go get out of my house
That's all I ever get from your
Family ties, in fact I don't think I ever heard
A single little civil word
From those guys
But you know I don't give a light
I'm going to make out all right
I've got a sweetheart hand
To put a stop to all that
Grousing and sniping
[Chorus]
Tie your Mother down
Tie your Mother down
Send your brother swimming with a brick
That's alright
Tie your Mother down
Tie your Mother down
Or you ain't no friend of mine!
[Verse 3]
Your momma and your Daddy going to
Plague me until I die
Why can't they understand I'm just a
Peace loving guy
[Chorus]
Tie your Mother down
Tie your Mother down
Get that big big big big big big
Daddy out the door
Tie your mother down yeah
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight
