Met him once. Nicest guy on the planet!
Keith has such great technique, stick control and dynamics. What a humble drummer, the world needs more humility!
Wonderful drumming and a man to admire. Srikes me as being modest and self effacing, more interested in making great sounds than being a drum geek. He's also got a 'Buddy' left hand. Fantastic.
Thanks and Blessings!!!
MORE solid than a rock.
Awesome!
A true master and original.
THE man!
A master.
You're a wizard keith! ✨️
Tight all the way around, great showcase!
Wow!
Holy smokes
I was there!
What’s the status on the drum giveaway?
It’s too bad people only ask questions about gear.
This is gearfest.
IKR but that said, do you think it’s a 16” or 17” K crash on his right side?
Keith is a stud
And this is one of the best solos from him I’ve ever seen. Does anyone know which Gretsch said he is playing?
@@scsdrummer Brooklyn
Michael yep, my question was answered if I would’ve just waited a little bit into the video. LOL!
Black Cow! SD
"Black Cow", nice, Paul Humphrey plays that one on "Aja", I said Paul, not Ralph... ;-)
Would like to watch this but the sync is out
I saw you at Rudy’s, you were very high…..
What was that last tune???
"Get Down" by Oz Noy from his album Twisted Blues Vol. 2
Kevin Miller You ever notice that Oz Noy has great taste in drummers? Keith Carlock, Dave Weckl, Nathaniel Townsley.
@@219Dave Yep! Also Vinnie, Gene Lake, etc. He plays with the best for sure, and he obviously deserves to.
Oz is an incredible musician and has surrounded himself with some of the world's finest musicians. He also has Anton Fig on his album Schizophrenic. The title track features Anton and Keith Carlock. Dave Weckl makes a couple of appearances as well on that album.
@@219Dave dennis chambers.
It's a shame the Gretsch guy didn't have the answer, but they have five lugs as a way of brining down the price for gigging drummers in NYC.
The only thing I wish Keith did differently in his style is I wish he utilized the match grip approach.
Why?
Matched grip doesn’t facilitate his technique. Modified Moeller with a very tasty whipping motion.
Why? 😂
Seems to do alright without matched grip so far…
Why? 😄
Weight's back up. This guy goes up and down like a yoyo, I hope it's not affecting his health.
This guy's a goddamn manimal.
Grande batterista ma lo stesso solo da 20 anni
Haha, if Keith is anything, he’s not diverse. But this is why we love him
Not diverse? Jazz, pop, rock stuff. Pretty diverse if you ask me.
@@RogierRJDonker extremely diverse, one of the most diverse players around.. John Mayer, Toto, Sting, Steely Dan, Oz Not, Wayne Krantz, !!!!???
i’m pretty sure he can play anything
does he every play anything different ? Same shit for 10 + years now. Gets kind of boring to watch
3SevenStangVids He must be doing something right if he plays with all the big cats out there. First heard of him because of his work with Toto in 2015. Been keeping up with him ever since.
@@davecerv i didnt say he was doing anything wrong, his solos have just been the same since the beginning of time. Younger Keith Carlock was actually more creative and impulsive than older Keith.
3SevenStangVids Yes! I agree!!
Steve Gadd has been playing the same shit since 1970!! These guys
rely on the same bag of tricks!!!!
Give me Vinnie any day of the week!! Love the way he takes chances with creativity!!!!!
Hi, 3 Seven: He’s a Dad now. That’s just what happens. Most of your other drum hero’s probably are single with no kids. The only thing in their life is drumming. I’m sure if Kieth really needed to he’d shred.
Do you play different stuff all the time? Most guys in the big league can play certain stuff extremely well and fit it into all stuff. Take Gadd for example. Better be a master a 5 or 6 things than a mediocre player at 500 things.
Weird when I watch drummers who play traditional grip, they ALL look like they have a 30 lb weight on they're left shoulder lol. *FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STRAIGHTEN UP!*
Talk about a boring intro track. C'mon man...
This is actually rather bland, ugly and horrible.
Such a shame. Plenty of fantastic Steely Dan and Keith Carlock clips out there. This is not one of them.
Guarantee Donald Fagen isn't letting Sweetwater use any actual Steely Dan songs without paying royalties.
It wasn’t as bad as you say.
Let’s see you do better.
