Thanks to a bunch of folks in Montana, this Arizona boy just picked up his first Ballard. A No. 2 in .32 Long with an incredible bore. Gonna figure out how to play this one off very carefully!
That gun is a working piece of art and history. Not much recoil but then it is a 16 pound rifle. Not sure I would want to fire it in a off hand match either. Probably wouldn't last too long. Thank you for bringing this one to light. Anything with Schoyen on it can't be all bad...
I messed up on the Souther scope. FH Souther was in Massachusetts, not Philadelphia. Sidle was the maker in Philly.
Amazing Ballard, barrel and scope combination, not to mention the shooting ! Thanks so much for posting.
Thanks for taking a look. Everything Vall brings is impressive. It gets even more so when he on the firing line.

Very nice rifle , beautiful to look at , looks good to shoot . It's good you're still operating . 👍🏴
Beautiful rifle
You need to show the target you are shooting at and the impact of the shot
Very cool and looks like a lot of fun!
I'm still grinning.
Someone needs to make a Ballard Repro. I only need a Ballard and a Hepburn and I'll have my single shot collection complete.
Beautiful gun. Vall.
.32-40 is one you don't see that often these days.
Do you ever shoot black powder loads in this rifle?
