Thanks for actually playing it and letting everyone see that it is fairly playable for a micro keyboard. Most reviews just talk about buttons, knobs and pads and completely ignore the keybed despite that being the most important part. Cheers.
but thats literally all this one is, it has no knobs or pads
@@jonathanbeny That's why I like it. I had the Arturia Minilab MK2 before and to be perfectly honest I don't like cheap pads anyway, so I never used them. I prefer just some decent keys. Other stuff just takes up space and removes portability. When I want pads I use my Maschine MK3 at home. This is just my own preference though.
@Ms. Tal No. I'm actually about to pick up a Studiologic SL 88 Grand. Found a good deal on one used, so I figured why not?
yes!
Your review sold me on this. I even opted to forego the newer Bluetooth version and bought from the link in your video here, so I hope you get a referral bonus or something! Thanks for the top quality video, man.
Such a comprehensive review. Thanks John!
It's nice to know the keys are nice. I am looking for second hand midi keyboards and i wasn't cheking these Korgs because people said keys were bad... thank you!
This is a very good minikeyboard. The keys are great and feel good.
I don't want to miss it.
The sustain button can be configured to latch in the korg software
I just went through two of the 49 key versions. Had to return both because there is a velocity issue Korg hasn’t addressed. Velocity is too low. First one wouldn’t go past 113 on the standard velocity setting, and wouldn’t exceed 123 at highest velocity setting just before “fixed” velocity. The second keyboard I got did the same, but managed to go slightly higher than the previous one. These keyboards should be able to hit 1-127 at the standard velocity curve of 4. It’s a shame because Korg IMO has the best micro key action out there, and they nailed the sweet spot with the size of them too.
I guess imma go get this, thanks for the review!
Your evaluation helped in the decision (the shop advisor also supported your idea of being the best keybed among microkeys)
“It’s decent, I love the way it feels” lol
Hi John Mike, awesome review. Can you tell us which notes you are playing from 3:42 - 4:04? Sounds cool. Thanks
Thanks for the honest review while playing the mini keys!
Dude, thanks for the demo, excellent job!!
there is a lot of space of creativity with this keyboard!
John, this Korg or Nectar Impact lx 25 ( i mean some software bundle too)?
John Mike.... Do you think think this keyboard will be good for me to put my Talkbox
Love the way you show at 3:43 the unit is plugged in and youre playing the coolest vibes I've had mine for a few days and get a squeak out of it. =-(
thanks for putting a heart on my comment but i was hopin you would take it as a plea for help. how do i get the software bundle thats supposed to come with the KORG Microkey 25 please ?
Is that an optical illusion or the space between C# and D# is a little wider than F# to G#, for example?
bought the 61 key model, can't wait to get it
Nice vid but I´ve got problems with finding and down loading software. I bought a second hand microkey25 with cable but keep getting stuck in a rut on the korg website. Do you also have any tutorials on the software use and some easy hacks on your keyboard style? I like the way you play!
which would you recommend, korg microkey 61 vs m-audio keystation 61?
Would you recommend the 49 key version of this for Nostalgia's (Japanese arcade piano rhythm game) home version?
I used to have the MicroKEY 37, It broke by itself (wouldn't turn on anymore) and when I went to check Korg forums, there were many posts by people complaining their MicrokEYs wouldn't turn on, Korg support was nonexistent. Some guy who knew more about electronics opened his and found a faulty component inside and managed to fix his but since I don't know anything about the inner workings, I just threw mine away and will never buy a Korg anymore.
Have the same one, the knob broke off the little wiggle stick when it was dropped. I never seemed to use the stick much as it was so not a big deal
I got sold this without the software bundle! is there any unpaid software for windows ten or is it only compatible with the paid software?
A very nice demonstration! Thank you man!
Love the way you review the keybeds feel in each video! What mini keyboard has the best keybed feel according to you? I'm torn between the Korg Microkey and the Midiplus X mini
Man they both are pretty decent! The Xmini definitely wins on price...but the korg has a better software package..mini comes with no software..
@@Johnmike Thanks!
The dummy battery door is for the AIR (BT) version
I have the BT version and there is still a separate battery door for it, the dummy one is still there
Cheers for that review. Really helpful man.
what's the difference between KORG microKEY2-25 and korg microkey 25???
Loved your performance here.
Which Vst, virtual instrument are you playing here? I need this synth.
Just the stock Rhodes out of logic
@@Johnmike Thanks.
3:42- That was a nice little surprise!
Hello !, I just saw your Nektar se25 review, about between those two, which one you'd choose ? I saw reviews and the Microkey looks better in the feel, but the black keys ooks so little in it. it make a difference with the se25 , maybe more confortable ?
Thk for the reviews btw
Korg definitely has better “action” but the keys are thin and a little awkwardly spaced...but it’s playable...just takes a little but of getting used to...the nektar is more of your standard feel on a micro keyboard...but has some great features compared to the korg
@@Johnmike I was reading and this shor black keys on the korg are apparently to be more easy to lpay as is a mini keys, I going for the korg though the nektar looks pretty good too
"Hi, I'm Korg, I'm made of stones. You don't need to be afraid unless you're made of scissors. Just a little rock-paper-scissor joke for you."
Hey.. Does this have a transposer?
The user manual says that you can use transpose on this keyboard. But when I try to set the transpose on Korg Kontrol Editor, the feature is disabled. Has anyone managed to use transpose on this keyboard?
I bought it mainly to have joystick for my yamaha p-35 ;-) There are no possibility to buy any pitch bend sold separately...
p.s. in fact I have also 61 microkey and I love it!
do yo know how to disable the sensitive?
Be honest with me if you can or when you get a chance what would you recommend this or the Akai LPK25 ? (Bluetooth)
This
@@Johnmike thx💯
Thanks for this response. I really needed this advice..
You sold this thing!

Thanks for subscribing!
Hi. Thanks for the video! How noisy are the keys? I need a silent midi keyboard because I record vocals with a condenser mic at the same time, for "live" performance.
They are decent...definitely not the loudest keys I’ve played
@@Johnmike Thanks man!
Please review the line6 mobile keys 25
is this a midi controller or does it come with inbuilt sounds? I.e. could i hook it up to a speaker and start playing?
No it doesn’t…needs computer
Are the keys weighted?
No
Korg microkey 25 vs Arturia microlab 25 vs Akai LPK 25
Which one ☝️ is better?
Out of those 3 I’d probably choose the Arturia...better build quality...better keybed...more software and sounds that come with it
Hey John,
I am new to your channel and I like your content very much!
I just have 1 question in regards to this keyboard but 61/49 key version: How good it is compared to the M-Audio 49/61 or the Alesis one.
Thanks in advance!
I would prefer the m-audio because of the full sized keys
@@Johnmike Thank you John! Please keep up the good work!
you know if it works in ipad garageband?
Yes it will
@@Johnmike thank youuuu
Joy stick for the Joy of the Lord 😂💓
😂😂
Hi,
Is there a need for a software or you can just play without it?
Need software
@@Johnmike thank you
can it use wall power buy plugging the usb in a charging block?
Yes
John Mike thank you so much
Hi,can you connect pedal on this or any korg volca?
No not on this model
would this work as a controller for ezdrummer?
Yes
Can you change midi channels on this thing without an editor?
No you can’t you have to have the korg kontrol editor to do so
Hey John, thx for video. I’m learning piano right now. Want an option for me when on the go so searching for a best option in 25keys. Is that the best one? Want to stay as close as possible as regular size keys. Is it better than the irig Mini ? Thx
Check out the M32 by native Instruments...best feeling micro board on the market
John Mike yeah but it is 32... i would like smaller to put it in my backpack. That’s why i asked about irig ou this one. But if you know better in this size range, that would be awesome!
@john Mike, do you have some other recommendation? Like i say, priority is portability (has to fit in my backpack) and keysize (as close as possible of piano keys). Thx
Stephane Lefebvre if that’s the case...this one would work out good...it has a great feel to it...
John Mike awesome, i ve order Korg microkey air 25 and Nektar se25 and suppose to receive it tonight. Will let you know my comparaison. Thx
Is the sounds coming out of the built-in speakers or your pc?
Yes
@@Johnmike lol
@@Zavantica Hahaha IKR
Are you going to review the Williams allegro 3?
Yea I will get to it soon!
The joystick has 3 functions. You can press it down too.
No. Just 2 functions.
When we start out with "I love the design of this box..." I get suspicious youre not going to be honest with your take on the keyboard....
thanks man
Cool beat
I buy it and i dont succeed
got one for £20 hehe
great
Midiplus akm320
Why are you shouting? Calm down.
