Thank you to Hypergryph for sending me and my friends to Tokyo Game Show this year! Ex Astris is a premium mobile game, follow all the exciting updates: bit.ly/ExAstrisOfficialWebsiteTAM
I will! I've only heard the name vaguely but you kind of sold me on aesthetics alone Can't wait to download it on my tablet (hopefully I have a tablet that can handle it )
Wow man, I've been to TGS in 2017 and the difference between the crowd then and now is indeed pretty staggering. Hope you guys are doing good out there tho!
I've attended a few shows this year. Each one felt super clean, safe and everyone was very respectful. I'm hoping we get a massive uptick when things really open back up.
It is crazy how far mobile games have come. I just started the My Hero Academia game and loved how great the gameplay actually is. As someone who just finished and love Nier Automata I've realized that great gameplay can be achieved with just 2 buttons.
Damn. Having been in Chiba for Tokyo Auto Salon 2019, I can relate knowing how PACKED it normally is. Very rare to see an event this empty... Especially TGS! Also low-key sold on Hypergryph wtf so aesthetic! Joey fits right in!
My first convention was last year before the pandemic hit. I usually don't get out much because I suffer with agoraphobia, but I pushed myself to go because there was people i wanted to see.
While boothing at San Japan ( San Antonio, TX) It was so much fun and everyone was great about being safe. I miss the community and such a great experience to be behind the booth .
Wow, it's so weird seeing TGS so empty. When I went it was packed. I'd love to be able to go to TGS with so few people, but the reason it's like that really brings things down. Bittersweet as you said is definitely fitting
Honestly miss conventions. Normally I help out at my friend’s store and just meeting and talking with fans during the day. Afterwards just hanging and talking with the other sellers and seeing behind the scenes pack up (got to sit inside an x-wing cockpit that con goers weren’t allowed but all the store holders and con staff were playing with)
I always dreamed on going to conventions like this, even if its looks empty cause the sh*t that is happening to the world, its still looks fun to go. And hypergryph looks promising and it looks really good.
"Seeing this place that's usually packed full of people empty is so weird" I 100% get you. I got my vaccine jabs at Koelnmesse, where they hold Gamescom. I had the same experience, I was super excited to go there, and was happy to see the place (I love Gamescom), but at the same time it felt super weird being so empty.
I miss conventions so much! While it's a little sad seeing how empty they are (understandably so) compared to back then, it's nice to have so much space and not bump into someone every .2 seconds LOL and no long lines
Went to Otakon a couple months ago......the last con I went to was also Otakon........11 years ago. So needless to say I was pumped and I did the same cosplay (Amu from Shugo Chara) I did the last time but did it right. I was in middle school and was awkward as hell this time I looked cool as shit and was hit on a bunch, also a lot of people knew who I was so it was very fun!
This is sooooo coool! I miss TGS so much, I was there back in 2017 and there was A HUGEEEEEEEEEEE CROWD. Seeing how empty TGS is now, kinda makes me jealous a bit, because holy crap that Queue for playing game back then or even taking a photo took HOURSS. Thanks for the video Joey, almost make me tear up and really looking forward for more convection soon!
I went to a con during the pandemic was last year. My town had some people bring a con back and at the time it's the 2nd year of the con. When I arrived, I saw most of the cosplayers are either plague doctors or Overhaul.
I knew I had seen that con somewhere in my social media feed in the last days. Just checked it: Animenz was also invited there and he also was suprised by IKEA making gaming stuff. XD
Just went to San Diego comic con special edition. It was basically comic con lite….They used half the space, had half the exhibitors, and attendance was also half what it normally would be too. So definitely different!!! But here’s hoping that 2022 will be back to normal with the cons
I've been to half a dozen comic cons since January of this year. And I have another 4 planned until the end of the year plus 3 Halloween events this month. No regrets.
Ill probably go to TGS at some point after the pandemic when there is another fighting game tournament held as usual. The atmosphere always seemed nice.
damn joey this video was really cool at giving us an inside view on a con during a pandemic still seemed like a blast. plus the trippy camera lenses at the beginning was fucking sick if you ever get a chance to use them in later videos down the line go for it that was epic. cant wait for the next video man keep on keeping on
I’ve never played Arknights but what I’ve seen is actually good (just never played it because of time). I’m looking forward to Ex Astris. Watching Joey enjoy the con makes me miss them as well 🥲 (going to a book fair this year for the first time… a bit of a different game to a convention I usually went to (before pandemic))… So yeah… Thanks for taking is along, Joey! It was a pleasure to watch
I went to PAX West and it was the most saddest convention. Only 1 big game company and a lot of boardgames. Some good indie games but mostly boardgames. At least ppl who bought 2021 tickets would get 25% off for 2022
That’s really awesome!!!!! I’m so happy that you and your friends got to go to an Anime Convention this year, plus, the games look super amazing too!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I've been to a small convention recently it was in the parc of some manor (yeah Europe be like) it was small but it was super cool to have the convention fun again
I've been itching to go to a convention, they are not happening here in Australia, at least for now... Still hoping one will happen this year, but I have my doubts. Next year, I guess. Oh well, I entirely understand why we can't have conventions at the moment. In due time...
honestly aside from the ikurru stuff the majority of your recent videos here could have easily fit in to your main channel unless of course if you're trying to deviate from "anime only" content and make this your main channel much like how connner does then im all for it
AnimeCon in Pasadena, CA, USA Is going to be my first con during the pandemic. Paid $45 for a two day pass. IDK what to expect. I hope it's an enjoyable experience. Awesome vlog Joey!!!
Thank you to Hypergryph for sending me and my friends to Tokyo Game Show this year!

What is this game on I’m trying to find it?
Joey: I've never heard this game up until now...
I genuinely was looking forward to this game even before...
Uwoooh it looks emptier than normal, but it looks fuuuunnn
Where is this game available
I will! I've only heard the name vaguely but you kind of sold me on aesthetics alone
Can't wait to download it on my tablet (hopefully I have a tablet that can handle it )
Joey: "I'm going to take a picture on the bike for the thumbnail"
Two super hot Konami models: "no you are not"
I’m surprised it wasn’t dark magician girls because of yugioh master duel from Konami
not to discount the hotness of our boy
I read models as noodles lol
"That sounds like fun, and we cannot allow that to happen." - Konami
Sexy girl on the bike
Joey looks at the screen behind her
- look! The character is so cute !
Aki is watching..

Hello there
Ahhh, it's the Warrior of Funk! Cool to see you here!
I love just seeing Aki posing all cute in the background 😂
Not to mention the cute body builders cheering her on

Gotta be hard for a Yakuza dude during a pandemic, having to take a part time job at TGS to make ends meet.
Aki: flexes
Me, remembering Aki somehow overpowering a door that defeated Joey and Emma together: That's about right
When did this happened? Do you know the episode?

My first convention was last year before the pandemic hit. I usually don't get out much because I suffer with agoraphobia, but I pushed myself to go because there was people i wanted to see.
9:15 that's the first I see buff Japanese men. Nice.
I would have gone for atelier.
While boothing at San Japan ( San Antonio, TX) It was so much fun and everyone was great about being safe. I miss the community and such a great experience to be behind the booth .
I’m from San Antonio 😲
With hypergryph aesthetic I can see this game being one of the top 10 for sure. Hopefully they will release it globally.
The way he said "influencer" made it sound like he said "I'm attending the con as an Influenza."
Lmaoo
Wow, it's so weird seeing TGS so empty. When I went it was packed. I'd love to be able to go to TGS with so few people, but the reason it's like that really brings things down. Bittersweet as you said is definitely fitting

At 8:35, is that guy legit cosplaying Kaito from judgment? I want that shirt 😤
That pso2 corner with the rappy mascot!! Wish we could see more stuff like this across more cons. Worldwide. lol
Im going to an anime con in Belgium next weekend, Im really curious to see how the con will look like 😨
dang seeing this makes me miss the convention days. it's been 2 years without any sort of conventions due to pandemic....
untung aa nabiru
I'm loving these kind of slice of life Joey videos. Good shit!
I'm going to a mini-convention in December. I'm curious to see how it will look like.
I miss conventions so much! While it's a little sad seeing how empty they are (understandably so) compared to back then, it's nice to have so much space and not bump into someone every .2 seconds LOL and no long lines
The editing for this video looks so cool! I would love to see more videos about conventions like this. Might as well include them in my bucket list
Ah shit I miss conventions. I hope that I can go to one again some day
I can’t wait for Ex Astris to come out, it looks cool!
Thanks for drawing my attention to Ex Astris.
It looks really fantastic!

It does look pretty decent! Thanks for taking us with you on the convention 😊
Went to my first Con at DCC yesterday. I did not expect how many people were there. This is so dead in comparison to the 30,000 people at DCC

I’m planning on going to Nekocon here in a month, hoping it goes well.
Honestly like this channel alot The "anime man" is cool bit Joey is why we watch hope that makes since
Always love getting to see Blu and Grey out of their natural habitat
I really like the low key vibe of these videos you have been putting out on Joey. The more straight tone is a nice change of pace.
I've been to half a dozen comic cons since January of this year.
And I have another 4 planned until the end of the year plus 3 Halloween events this month.
No regrets.
Ohh the monster hunter stuff looked sooo cool and the doggie 💚 loved aki showing off 😎
Arknights has amazing character design, so a 3D game with the same aesthetics is super hype
Ill probably go to TGS at some point after the pandemic when there is another fighting game tournament held as usual. The atmosphere always seemed nice.
Kinda sad you didn't hit the Squeenix booth, but that's just where my brain goes first, lol. I hope you guys had a great time!
The flexing game looks fun. Also that one guy's arms are amazing!

In France we have TGS too (toulouse game show) so it was weird to hear him say it 😂 also I wish convention would be that calm lol
2:16 that was a very cool transition and montage
Glad to see that at least they did something, Tokyo games show is by far the best convention in the world (at least usually)
this reminds me of old cons and how they start small then as the years go by they grow until its unbearable to go
Aki playing the flexing game had me dying 🤣 The bulky guy was so cute and sweet! 😂
Japan be doing it with different gravy..
I'm thankful for Joey for showing us these kinds of video or else non should've done it or done it sooner

Feels more like a trade show than a con. Very interesting, thanks for the video!
Its good to see that booth babes and buff dudes are alive and well in Japan.
I should attend the small anicon, in a couple of months. Since supernova got pushed back in perth.
That’s really awesome!!!!! I’m so happy that you and your friends got to go to an Anime Convention this year, plus, the games look super amazing too!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
