Morissette Amon is a vocal BEAST and not only that, she is superb songstress and technical singing master. FTR, I am a retired, professional music critic, with 45+ years of experience. I saw many of the great female Pop singers, like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Regine Vazquez etc, live, at their Apex singing peaks. Morissette is a match for any of them. She has become one of the top 5 to 8 Pop singers of all time (my opinion), since then.
This is how you represented a country..Beautiful voice, charisma, swagger, voice agility, very powerful, she incorporated all this technique and perform it flawlessly.. ohh she also dance while singing Live now if that’s not incredible…then what!! this was a festival so a lot of the audience members were waiting for their fave K-pop groups. This was Mori's first time in the festival and promoters were so impressed that she was invited for the second time the following year (the first artist in the festival's existence to do so) and hence her moniker was invented: Asia's Phoenix....she rose from the "ashes" for the second one and sang a Korean popular song in both English and Korean which was by the way, epic.

It seems your both are not a Mariah Carey fan, Emotion is Mariah Carey top hit at several years ago. Morissette, People's has describe her as a Mariah Carey of Philippine cos, she is one's of the best whistle in her own country and can totally slay any of MC songs without any difficulties. BTW, Asia's Song Festival supposedly only invite those K-POP or those singers in Korean. Is only in 2015 they open up to others potential artists from other part of Asia's.

I appreciate the reaction but you just don’t have the ear for the whistle tone. There are a handful of singers like Mariah Carey, Dimash that can do it. Not everyone can do it and that makes them exceptional. Being able to sing on a whistle tone and provide very little air and do acrobatics with the voice are what separate Morisette from the good singers. You just need to hear more to appreciate it. It’s a rare talent.
