Back in the day of V8s and ripped rubber motor mounts we used to put a chain on the forward torque side and make it tight. The vibration and sound would go through the chain but we liked it that way.
Diablo blades are garbage. I’d put a DeWalt or Milwaukee blade against them any day. The huge problem with reciprocating blades is the same with drill bits. Speed is your enemy. People are generally stupid & hit the loud pedal all the way when cutting wood or metal.
They do make blades that will survive more than one bolt but i just get the cheaper blades and plan on them being single use only even the high dollar carbide blades shut down pretty quick from heat. I use oil when cutting steel
I’ve had that happen in my 2004 Chevy venture. And it is a very distinctive rumbling sound. You could really hear it when you change from drive to reverse, especially as you showed in your video.😊
So my brother calls me up and says that his old Dodge truck, with automatic transmission, sometimes changes into neutral when he is turning. I went for a test drive with him and yep the transmission popped into neutral on the first turn 1/2 a block from his house. I told him to keep the truck under 5 mph and drive right back home. This truck only has three "motor mounts": two engine to frame mounts at the front of engine and one on the automatic transmission to frame. The two front real motor mounts were completely broken apart with complete metal to rubber separation. There are only two bolts per one motor mount. So really all we had to do was remove and replace 4 bolts. Six hours later we had the job done. We had to remove a lot of components and the take apart transmission mount and use two floor jacks to get the front of the engine up high enough to slip in two new motor mounts. aieeeeeee 4 bolts removed and replaced in 6 hours.
Ford PCMs have 3 connectors when transmission controls are included (no TCM required), or 2 connectors if the transmission is controlled by a separate module.
So did you notice the constant water dripping while you were working on the motor mount? Also wondering why you didn't put some loctight on that vertical bolt?
I am working on a 2017 kia soul got knok sensor code and its in limp mode i couldnt get the intake manifold to come off i look and look then i found it a bolt at the bottom had to remove the belly pan to get to it but i got it off going to put it back together tomorrow. Update got it all back together but had to fine a obd scanner to clear the code before it would come out of limp mode but it runs great
Please do not grind using the sides of those thin "cutofff only" grinder blades. Really they are designed to only grind on the circumference edge. Side grinding can destroy the blade with catastrophic failure with flying shrapnel. Other type of grinding wheels are designed for both side and circumference grinding. I know most people remove the guards on their grinders but I don't because I used to work in an ER and saw too many injuries. I have a really nice straight air grinder similar to yours, but mine has an unremovable tool less guard that can be easily repositions by flipping a latch. My fantastic straight air grinder even has the feature of being able to switch the turning direction so that you can fling the sparks in a safe direction.
No worries about the transmission failing it's matter a matter of when not if. I'm certain they never changed the fluid. If I owned one of those pieces of shit I'd change it every 30k. Some hack mechanics tell you not to change trans fluid.
@rontiemens2553 I took my kids to Mexico to teach them to parallel park and drive a standard. Mexico-Soccer center up the street with a big parking lot.
@@jasonleatherwood2172 Buddy thats the other problem. I do my own repairs, saves money and never had a break down. But it should not have to be like that. Manufacturers hate mechanics. Or at least they don't want anything touched. Wages are a joke, but thats mainly due to inflation and the whole rigged shebang, but look where it leads. Imagine a motor mount flies out in the middle of the road and it leads to a chain of issues...
Howdy Mr Kenny, hope you went and got you a hamburger 😅. Did sound good didn't it 😊. Thank you for the great videos and please tell Mrs Kenny I said hi.😊

Missing bolt, it does happen. Thanks for sharing.
May want to try Diablo or Lenox blades for your Sawzall. Longevity tends to exceed that of Dewalt, in my experience. Appreciate your videos, Kenny.
Eh, blades are pretty close to a 1-2 bolt use. I use Diablo, pretty much toss a blade after every use. Buy them in packs of 25 for $40.
@toddhorton6102 I will have to check them out. Thanks for the recommendation. I appreciate you. Keep wrenching! Kenny

Sad that some other shops may have charged them for a new transmission.
Nice find. Easy peasy
❤ On a pass threw bolt, why not put a washer and lock nut on the exposed end?
I dont drive the car home to park it without the tank being full but i live in the country so im always thinking ahead
An excellent repair as usual.
@glennfields8121 thanks brother GlennBob. I hope all is well with you. Keep wrenching 🔧Kenny
put a nut below the cut line cut the bolt back the nut out perfect threads
Här I Sverige är det förmiddag och jag är ledig då blir det en kaffekopp och titta på Kenny 🙂👍

" I can't understand it....that saw blade worked great when i bought it in 1967 "
Customer will be pleased easy fix
The customer should be surprised and relieved, thinking it might be the trans to a missing bolt.
*Kaaaah-Mon* !! That's what I tell my scan tool, too.
Never heard of vacuum motor mounts but I do know that sound and vibration cannot travel thru a vacuum.
Nice work Kenny
they are the problems that are nice to work on...not so much on your profit margins...but on the customers wallet. kudos.
Mexicos vegetation looks oddly exactly like the east coast back in the states

Keep wrenching Kenny.😊
@Justiceincorporated Thanks! You too. Be sure not to go bananas. Kenny

I just put an engine in a 2015 Escape. They are a 2 plug pcm.
Classic case of " build it up with washers and bottom it out"
Get some Diablo blades you will like, cut faster and last way longer
So did you notice the constant water dripping while you were working on the motor mount? Also wondering why you didn't put some loctight on that vertical bolt?
If the motor was running it was more than likely from the A/C being on.
Yeah. Thread locker on mm bolts for sure
yeah no thread locker on originals maybe that's why it fell out
so was even steven ??? bolt for the gas burnt while on lift runnning hahhahaha

Some one changed that mount and didn’t do the bolt up tight
Just bend that long bolt over! 😂😂😂
cable ties are wonderful too 😂😂
Another in for repair running on fumes lol
i believe you are correctomongo!
That's absolutely true, I found out the hard way to.just change all motor mounts at the same time.My ex wife's PT Bruiser. 😅😊
Power steering? my opinion 10 seconds in
The first thing you should have done was cut the bolt
Screw torque specs ! Tight is Tight ! 😛

nothing really. I'm just being a goofball. Thanks for watching. Keep wrenching! Kenny

5 hours later with that blade.
I hear a little something something.
shit like this happens because nobody looks at torque specs anymore
While researching the torque specs he forgot to install the nut😅
@@ronaldkurys2811 pretty sure the mount is threaded 🤔
As a mechanic if ypu torqued everything to spec you would barely make min wage
Bad enough mechanics in my area only make 18-22$ flat rate what a joke i left to fix and deliver floor cleaning equipment make way more money now

I see them
@@user-mv5bu2kk8b for some reason they didn't show upon my screen. Always a thumbs up for Kenny!
No need to cut the bolt. My car is full of zip ties, cotter pins, and long bolts that I have not cut off the excess length.
Zip ties huh? So you’re one of those guys

Hello Kenny
@bigbill709 Hi there! I hope you are well. Thank for watching & leaving a comment. Keep wrenching! Kenny
How about a new blade , maybe a little shorter
Definitely need a blade
Kenny you forgot to use your German dialect, Gutten tight!
By the way milwaukee make a battery die grinder you can't find it on Amazon
oooooo thanks @Mrkitty2024 I sense a new tool is in my future. Thanks for watching & leaving a comment. Keep wrenching! Kenny
Why would you hook up a scan tool for a noise complaint? 😂😂😂
You ALWAYS check for codes. Always.

what @chrismack6027 said
Why not measure and cut the bolt off properly first before fitting it? That was just poor workmanship!
