    The lowrider has the highest clearance of all harley's.

    Nice review! I know most guys go for the Low Rider S, but I personally like the plain Low Rider.

    Forward controls work great on these.
    I have same bike & 6ft tall.
    Perfect for Australian open roads.

      Roy Trajkovic seems like most owners go with the forward controls.

    I’m still riding my ‘07 Low Rider and it’s still the best looking and handling DYNA. Of course I had to make it my own with some minor mods but, who leaves any bike stock? I too am right about 6’ tall and the Tall Boy seat fixed that tight Rider Triangle. The 107 M8 is actually my favorite of the M8’s, it’s heads are really good flowing and it will make over 100hp with just a cam change and flash. If I ever trade my ‘07 it’ll be for a 107 powered new Low Rider.

    It is the best looking bike, but it needs better handle bars and forward controls. The low rider with a chopped look will always remain.

    Just bought a 2018 with low miles and really dug the test ride... so sexy and comfy!!! Coming from an Indian scout.. shifts smoother and clutch is easier. The suspension is very nice.

    The problem isn't the mid controls. It's the stupid scooped seats HD uses. Hard to find proper seats that don't sit you in a hole. The one on the Fatbob is good, but doesn't fit this model. Probably just need a thick seat pad.

    Thanks for this review; I'm a very short guy at 5' but run about 180. I have been lamenting that my only HD choice could be a Sporty since my inseam totally prevents forward controls mostly found on larger platforms. Hearing your size evaluation and review is very encouraging as an option for me. Appreciate the time you put into that portion of the review.

      I saw. your comment and had to add to it: I'm 5'3" 138lbs ( Pre load setting to a 1 vs factory setting at 3, which did seem to lower the bike a bit more that enabled myself to almost touch perfectly flat footed with barely defined heel boots on) just recently took custody of a 2019 FXLR Low Rider Barracuda Silver which out of my regime of bikes (1st Harley) I have to say was the 1st cruiser that I was able to take off and ride 200 miles in the saddle without stopping, yes the fuel light did come on, or without any modifications what so ever. The mid controls were perfect, the buck horn bars did take a slight getting use too, due to the wrist angle which I think I'm liking, still undecided. As the review suggested this bike is definitely for us shorter riders. My goal was to have the 5 gallon tank for a 200 mile range, which narrowed the search down by quite a bit not to mention a cruiser that fit my short a**. I was tossed between the Slim and the Low Boy, but after careful consideration and numerous back n forthes the Low Rider fit the bill. A decision which I will not regret. As for the 107 vs the 114 in comparing torque to bike weight ratio with the Low Rider itself is not much less if not the same depending on which cruiser you are comparing. Then add me less than average weight of the cruiser rider now you got something. So yeah she can pull.

      @cliftonteeman1359 4 роки тому

      Two more comments: 1st the lean angle, notice that in the specs the Low Rider has a lean angle both right and left of 29.6 degrees which is quite respectable when comparing some of the other cruisers, 2nd the clearance is 5.1".

    I think you’re right this is a great looking bike. I also agree that it seems to be built for a smaller rider. I’m 5’4” and it fit me better than any other big twin. My Road King required shorter shocks, a reach seat, heritage bars and a lower windshield. It is hard to know just from sitting on it in the showroom but it seems to be a dandy fit for me.

    Thanks for the note on cornering clearance. I had a 1200 Sportster Low. The cornering clearance was limited and it would touch down on the left with the jiffy stand and the right with the pipes. Both were very solid and touching down was very alarming.

    • @DifferentSpokesTV
      @DifferentSpokesTV  5 років тому

      You're welcome. It was actually my heel that hit the ground first because of the angle of my foot on the peg. I don't know what to about this issue other than get longer shocks in the back of the bike. The steering is precise and quick for such a big bike but the cornering clearance limits the fun.

      If I am not mistaken it still has a 29.5 lean angle left and right I feel more comfortable on it than my SPORSTER .

    Awesome vid, Spokes. To Dyna or not to Dyna.... hmmm, that's not really a question is it ?, lol.
    I'm still a fan of the Look and Feel and the "Sit IN the Bike" perspective of these cruisers, so I bought Yamaha, (Viragos and Bolts), to get the best of a look that I loved growing-up. ( My fave HD is the Super-Low....)

    Thanks for the review. I'm interested in buying the same bike as yours from a Harley dealer. I'm six feet tall, but my pants inseam is only 30". Do you think I would be comfortable on the stock bike? (I haven't been to see it yet in person.) I used to have a 1998
    Harley Dyna Convertible, but I sold it a few years ago. I now ride a plasma blue 2007 Kawasaki 650R Ninja. Thank you.

    • @DifferentSpokesTV
      @DifferentSpokesTV  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment. Did your Dyna have mid controls? If so, you'll probably be fine on this bike as well. I actually don't own it, I was just test riding it, but if I was in the market for a Harley this would be near the top of my list. I'd sit on one at a dealer just to be sure though.

    My 2019 Heritage Classic sits almost 6” lower than my 2018 FXLR. I put the 1st stage kit on with the Vance/Hines Eliminator 300 slip-on. The sundowner seat and forward control kit. The 4” risers to raise the handlebars. The FXLR is one screaming machine. I’m 5’9” and it fits me perfect.

    Do they sell laced/spoked wheels for this model?

    • @DifferentSpokesTV
      @DifferentSpokesTV  5 років тому

      I’ve seen this model with laced spoked wheels but I’m not sure if it’s offered this year. I would imagine that it would be since Harley offers a million custom mods on their bikes but your best bet is to call a dealer near you and ask a sales rep.

    • @chrisdawson8252
      @chrisdawson8252 5 років тому +1

      I believe they might have it as an option. That unfortunately means it'll cost more to get spoked wheels compared to the stock alloy rims
