Thank you very much! Brazil thanks! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thank you for all the hard work on the distribution
this looks like just what I was looking for! thank you both :)
I'm getting a big on this, can you please help. It hangs up when switching the performance toggle. Goes back to normal on hard reset.
BigLinux is fantastic! I can't stop using it! The most impressive thing is that only one person maintained this project for 18 years. It deserves a prominent place.
I enjoyed your video and decided to "Give BigLinux" a try. It is exactly what I need. The touchpad is much less sensitive than it had become while using MX Linux, it loads every app I want to use, and let's face it, the price is right. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!
A very good part of BigLinux are the servicemenus in dolphin, right clicking on image, audio, video, pdf, docx, odt files, they all have conversion options, when it is PDF you also have the option to OCR the file digitized. Still about OCR it is there in the screen capture program, just select the text with the screen capture and use the export to OCR button

@@litemint09 Thank you, we will continue to follow our motto of the search for the perfect system
I vote for BigLinux
My vote goes to BigLinux
great distro m8
Ever since I installed Big Linux a week ago I was amazed at how the performance is as well as the layout and software. Glad you made this video and are impressed with it too. Its my daily driver and will be for a long time its that good.
Until ManArcho blows something up
My distro hopping had finally concluded to Big Linux yesterday, Im loving it so far. Shout out Troy!
Installed about an hour ago after watching your vid and couldn't be happier. Runs so much better that Win10/11. Pages load faster, videos don't buffer as much, and just an overall beautiful distro. I believe I've finally found my daily driver after distro hopping for a long while! Thanks for the video!
Yes but in this case it was also running the latte dock which neon does not run that's why I said it was impressive.
I can’t believe it is using KDE desktop and only used up 0.75GB as it should eat up more RAM than Gnome. I should try out this distro.
If you choose the Brezee theme and the classic desktop with the performance on, the consumption will be 500mb
I vote Big Linux. I love the Ventoy download, such a great program for distro hoping
Nice to see a Brazilian distro been appreciated. Thanks!
Congrats on 13k
Other thing is that BigLinux is an easy and very well performed distro for games, I'm been gaming on BigLinux for several months now and I've already tried Arch Linux GUI, Garuda, Nobara, Pop OS and Manjaro and I can say BigLinux has the same performance but it's much easier.
I vote for BigLinux, you won't regret it! You should give it a try, look a Big Store is the large distro store I ever see. And you can customize the desktop with right click, enter edition mode, if it's not enable just click on the arrow in the panel and you see an option to unlock the changes
I downloaded it and ran it through a live USB, I'm impressed, everything worked out of the box through USB, it even picked up my old Canon printer. It's very well polished and good on the eyes. Might be joining you and making it my daily driver.
I stopped distro hopping when I landed on BigLinux for my newer laptop. Worked out of the box for everything I need and it’s super easy to use. Web apps are great and easy to make for the ones not included. Even play my Apple Music on Cider. Just don’t need anything else. Great and easy Linux Distro for total noobs.
Your content is great and informative! Learned a lot through watching your videos.
As a new Linux user, your video's were extremely helpfull to pick a distro. I watched several of them and decided to go for BigLinux. I've been using it a week and I am very satisfied with it. Will stick to it for a longer time. (This video was very helpfull ...) Subscribed.
I swear BigLinux is one of the best gaming distros out there lol
the kernel doesnt really look optimized for it. you can most likely get quite a bit of a performance boost if you install the linux-tkg kernel afterwards.
@@TVPInterpolation I'm just using the perfomace mode that comes with the distro and I'm good even with LoL and Blitz app
There's a scroll arrow down on the bottom right of the Big Linux Website to chose your country / Language
I wont abandon Fedora over this distro, but I will keep Big Linux handy on my old thinkpad. Its the first KDE distro I have liked.
I vote Big Linux.
Great distribution, works on my Lenovo right out of the box and looks great, tried many distros, but this is my new daily driver tired of empty promises offered by the others, this one is a keeper thank you to the developer/s and keep up the great work.
Every time you post a new Distro review, I brab it and run it in a VM to try it out. Thanks, this will get a whirl today.
I am running Linux Modicia from a flash drive. This is the one I've been waiting for. It's fast and easy to understand. No hiccups so far. This distro is an adventure...
Great video, I will try this distro, later.
Awesome, let us know if you use this as a daily driver, thanks.
Hope this one goes well for you. At least you're back on an Arch-based (kind of, I know that Manjaro is not Arch!) distro. Congrats on 13K!!!
Thank you my friend, and for somebody that's been there pretty much since the beginning it's been a heck of a ride.
Wait, Manjaro isn't Arch? Then what it is?
Big is a very good distro
I vote Big Linux!
The modern task bar look is a winner, If I were an Arch kind of guy, this would be the one.
Thanks for the heads up. I am not generally a plasma fan, but this one looks interesting, I like the look of the "Modern" desktop. I would like to see mentioned how to change the icon colour particularly for the file manager, its something I always do, usually to a green colour. I will drag out the old Thinkpad and give it a go now.
Extremely Awesome Content. Thx so much 4 Posting this wonderful Linux video.....👽👻😝👽
After using Linux for 15 years, things are finally together...
Wow this is a really polished distro, will have to try it.
Running Big_Linux here and very happy with it.
Instead of moving to Windows 11 from Windows 10, I built a brand new custom tower a few months ago and switched to Linux as my daily driver for the firs time ever. Before that I had only dabbled with Ubuntu on castoff hardware or VMs here and there over the years. AMD GPU, X11, KDE Plasma (just say NO to opinionated Gnome), OpenSuse Tumbleweed, and I'm happy as can be. Give Tumbleweed a try.
I just spun this up in a VM on VirtualBox, I'm really impressed with the Look and Fell, it's running very well
I tried to do this but it would not load up. When creating the VM in Virtual Box which system did you select - Arch Linux 64 or something else.
@@philneale3258 I selected Arch because I believe it's based off of Manjaro, make sure you have the 64 bit version
i did Bare Metal on it,aht this Distro is very Begginer Friendly....
Cheers for a great guide. This gives everyone a good guide to Linux. Nice one
I installed Garuda because of your videos and love it! Hope you do Big Linux next, subscribed!
Thank you for the sub and I am leaning toward Big Linux
Looks promising. Thanks for the vid.
I loaded Big Linux on yesterday. When I first tried it on my old laptop it started locking up on Google Chrome. However the more I used it the locking up stopped. It's a great OS. It has many of the odd software that I use (I'm a music writer/composer/arranger) and a lot of the games I could only get on Debian. I still have one problem with a Windows software that I use but I think I know what's causing it and may be able to fix it. I would recommend this OS to anyone. It's s fun OS to use. Great graphics !!
Im From Brasil...Thank you Very much for the Test.
A few things stand out as being useful additions. Hope development continues and to give it a shot!
This is a nice distro. Thank you for pointing it out. Could be my next daily driver. I was thinking about Garuda, but that is a bit heavy on my laptop. I'm using Kubuntu 20.04 right now and I don't like all the snaps in 22.04.
So far, I'm loving it. Easiest install ever, and the thing I most needed, a Windows program was up in ten minutes, most of it spent in downloading Crossover. The most important thing I haven't figured out yet is how to change the screen resolution. Looks like it is on 1024 x 768. Not the best use of an HD monitor. Anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks. (Sorry to turn this into product support, but not everyone speaks Portuguese.)
you could try telling your problem on BigLinux forum, someone is going to help you in english even if they are brazillian :)
I showed you right in the video how to change resolution

YOOOO congrats on the subs!!!!
Thanks man, i installed it today and i like the smooth performance in my core 2 duo laptop with 4gb of ram
Thanks man.
Could you please provide a tutorial on light linux security; Clam AV , gufw & Lynus tool
Lynus tool is intended for admins, but how does a home user benefit from it
Regards
Big Linux looks like an interesting distro. I think it would be an interesting one to see you test drive. I have been running OpenSuse Tumbleweed for a couple of years without issue. The updates are a bit slow, but not a single problem after updating. I haven't actively monitored the resources while updating either, but never noticed a performance issue on a virtual machine or on a bare metal install while working during updates.
I think the issue was low vram/no dedicated gpu rather than the 2gb of ram (for the sluggishness when moving windows and such)
if Big LInux has a XFCE Spin,im on it.....
I highly recommend this system, use
Best Distro 👌👌👌
this is the best distro ever its works very well thanks Troy
I've been daily driving ArcoLinux (KDE) for the past 4 or 5 months. The only issue I had is some display glitches that go away updating the resolution. Regardless, maybe give it another try? (:
Thanks. Great work.
Glad you liked it!
Big Linux looks interesting - I might download it and give it a go at some stage. I like the layout configs, but I would like to see if you can move that bottom panel around and actually add stuff to it (I'm sure you could). Looks a lot like Win11 that config you were using and that they've put a lot of thought into the distros use for new users.
Personally I've never had much luck with any OpenSUSE distro. I've always found it hard to install and get up and running. Maybe that's changed?
It's my whole family's distro
Latte dock is going for a coffee break....permanently. 🤣🤦♂️
We embrace the project, we will continue to improve.
I'm gonna try this out :D
Check back and let me know how it goes
I'll give it a try on a VM as I currently will plan to install Tiny11.
I'm going to check it out on bare metal
Congrats for 13k im happy for you
I love kde so thats why im stuk with kubuntu for more then 3 years
But this big linux i just fall in love
Do you see this better then kubunto?
Is biglinux more stable or what?
Thank you sir
I'm leaning towards running it as my daily driver, so I'll have more answers to those questions soon.
After re-watching your video on Fedora 36, I highly recommend you try either that or Pop OS.
It also came with Waydroid? Then nice for Android apps and games too.
Ventoy is a fantastic tool for putting distro images on a thumb drive.
I tried to use it, got only errors, got frustrated and went back to Rufus which worked.
I still would like to see a long term review of Solus, which I hear is great yet has a small repository. But Big Linux looks nice.
Big Linux please as daily driver
Currently I use Manjari KDE as my daily driver
It is really a very good distribution indeed. Regards!
Great distro!
Based on your favorite Manjaro. 🤣
Big Linux for sure!
This looks impressive features vise , can you do open-suse quick tour ? I now they have to main distros, curious what you think about them...If you already covered that in the past sorry, maybe some new insights ....
Like their UX selection for KDE< hate the fact that it's based on Manjaro. I hope their KDE stuff ends up in the AUR.
Your videos could really benefit from time stamps, I can never find the fit I want scrolling back to re view
big liinux the best and fast
I WILL put this on my VENTOY-- because I like what I see so far. I don't really NEED to know so much about arch for this one.. which Is good. Might to arco- and the "college" of arch they have a bit later- once I have the work stabilized.
Does look pretty good.
for linux beginner for gaming which distro right now is best?
BigLinux I'm sure
Garuda and Nobara are both really good gaming distros
@Munnu Yein I just a video showing how easy is to set BigLinux for games
I like using PLANK with just what I use a LOt on it- and AUTOHIDE everything..
I'd switch latte to PLANK if it goes away.... smoother, faster, and LESS MESS.. I thought some of the software messed up my machine and it was POWER shortages---- I broke it down completely- cleaned al the contatacts and reassembled it- and it works better than new-- faster, quieter, and NICE. I AM going to upgrade from 240w to 300w power supply thought- this model uses either-- and this one the regulator isn't good.. so sometimes it's weak (causes issues there too).
Did you ever get around to looking at Ultramarine? Its flagship DE is Budgie, but there is also Gnome. It's another RPM distro based off Fedora with most of the RPM stuff already set up for you. I ran it for a month and had zero issues, but I don't do all the stuff you do. The only aggravation it ever gave me was a really long boot time.
Yes I did and I did a review on it about a month ago, it's a long boot time bothered me and dnf is so slow
@@eBuzzCentral It's weird really. Maybe because I'm in Australia it's different, but for me 'apt' or 'pacman' or 'dnf' all have about the same download speeds., although 'dnf' might be between 5 and 10% slower overall. Of course rolling distros all have so much more data to download lol. That's why I started using 'dnf up-min' instead. Still, for me, the biggest issue was boot time. Easily the nicest iteration of the Budgie desktop I've seen though, even better than Solus lol.
@@eBuzzCentral i tryed Fedora and o Quit because the dnf the must Slow package Manager off all Time.OpenSuse is Fast for Rpms
Wowwwww
very cool, should it work installed on an USB stick 32gb but 2.0 on an Intel i7 16gb ram with dedicated Nvidia GeForce graphics card?
Yes, just make sure you pick proprietary drivers on startup
You lost me, at "Based on Manjaro" 🤣That's building castles on sand, as far as I'm concerned. There are certain packages, that are only in the AUR for me that I have to use, so this is a non-starter for Me.
I DO like that it uses BRAVE and auto- adds the webapp stuff.... It looks pretty good actually-- so if Sparky getsme tired of it-- this might be next.
👍
If you go opensuse use Geckolinux instead.... much more sane defaults for the desktop user.... better printer and device support, easier video setup....
BIGLINUX looks cool but I've had problems with newer AMD cards that can use AMDGPU open-source drivers. Manjaro driver detection software ignores grub/boot edit so black screen results. Manjaro also removed vesa and vga modes as a failsafe only option is nomodeset which doesn't work on AMD very well if at all.... MXlinux boot menu is awesome and gives lots of options. Should be the way all distros boot menu should be and it didn't ignore my amdgpu boot edit worked first try...
BigLinux provides 3 iso options, one of them is just with the latest kernel and mesa-tkg, to bring latest support for modern hardware.
It also has a lot of boot options to solve various problems.
Better than Garuda?
Facts
Would be nice if you could have timestamps to skip ahead to the actual OS review for those not interested in the whole download and install part (which I always skip)
I thumbs up your comment great idea I hope he sees it and make these changes in his later videos in the future 😊
Hey this is an interesting review of Big Linux - having recently dumped windows11 and gone to linux mint21 which am liking so far - its been a good educational experience. I like the look of the Big Linux layout, the fact it has equaliser and DTS audio settings already there - i finally got an equaliser to work on mint21 but it was some work to get easyeffects setup - use this for de-essing youtube videos and some other audio. Will get another nvme hdd to install Big Linux separately and give it a go.
Tough decision:
I Vote Big linux or ArcoLinux (KDE)
Arco is a mess!
Heydude how does this compare to Elementry OS?
I just did a fresh install of 6.1 jolnir and got stupid . After i installed vivaldi, brave and chrome i decided to eliminate epiphanny , video player and music player since i watch and listen to most everything on youtube.
BUT now i seem to have wrecked my top menu bar as it disappears whenever i try to adjust main volume and i have to manually open setting/sound to adjust volume.
Not the end of the world but how do i fix it ?
or simpler to just reinstall elementry os from scratch again?
Will it work with a soundblaster card?? The only thing on my pc that wont work with linux😢
What's b.l like on a rassberry pi. 4?
This is inconvenient. I just went to download BigLinux, and the download and torrent buttons both give 404 errors.
That's extremely odd that's the first time I've ever heard that, I just went over and hit the torrent and it loaded it into qbitorrent and was going to download it
@@eBuzzCentral Very odd. I'll try again.... Okay, now it's working. I contacted Bruno about it. Don't know whether he fixed something or the problem was on my end. Probably mine, as I was trying to download it not long before you did. No clue what it could have been, though.
can this replace win10? I remember using ubuntu with a laptop and I got way more battery life with windows 10
With any Linux distro I use autocpu-freq and my battery life is golden.
Just installed this beautiful distro on my dell 5490, i5 7th gen, but i noticed this bug on switching to performance mode from toggle, it hangs up and doesn't respond until force shutdown and goes back to normal after restart.
Any solution would be appreciated 👍 TIA
